Bills pick up Ed Oliver’s 5th yr option
DrDawkinstein replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
But there is no way they extend him for LESS than $10M/yr. So with the 5th year, he gets a nice pay bump, the team gets some savings, and both sides get a little more time to work on an extension. -

Dave tepper pulls plug on new rock hill Headquarters
DrDawkinstein replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
How did Rock Hill not securing the bonds it promised it would and blowing the funding for the project turn into Tepper screwing people over? Man, I'm the last person that wants to bootlick for billionaires, but this seems pretty straight forward business. Bunch of teams with downtown stadiums are like this. Falcons facility is a good hour (sometimes 2 with traffic) away from the stadium. It's why the Bills were going to keep the OP facilities even if they built a downtown stadium. -

IIRC from another recent article, it was the state or city that didn't show up with the funding they promised, so he basically had to send everyone home. They agreed to pay $225m in bonds as part of the deal to secure the project, then after construction began, they back out on the bonds, fail to meet their agreed-upon financing dates, and want Tepper to accept an alternative financing scheme. -
Bills off-season workout dates: April 19-June 16

Great seeing everyone back. Couple of observations from the pics... 1. It's SNOWING in Buffalo today?!?!? Reminds me why I moved south. 2. The hoodie game is strong in these pics. Lot of good casual wear on display here (Knox may have my personal fav). But Ed Oliver wins Best Dressed! -
71 million guaranteed for Denzel Ward.
DrDawkinstein replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Browns kinda backed themselves into a corner on this one. With the bad PR signing of Watson, they had to ink one of their homegrown players. Good for Ward for bending Haslam over and getting paid. -
They really should start each game with a human sacrifice and the crowd chanting "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", but the corporate stooges are too afraid to offend anyone.

Crazy how being on a floundering 6-10 team in the league's smallest market didnt do as much for his brand as being on a Super Bowl winning team in a major West Coast market with (what was) the league's richest owner. Curious. 🤔

Still a guess until you call and have the convo. -
Gilmore to colts… Bills WERE interested

How do you know what it would cost unless you call and have the conversations? That could be the extent of the "interest". -

Why would you doubt it? Beane will have a conversation on pretty much any/every available player. He's everywhere. I expect him to be "interested" in every FA CB right now. And why wouldnt we be interested in bringing Gilmore back as a stop-gap if he could be signed for cheap? -

[Please Change Title] I'm sorry but what a moron
DrDawkinstein replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just a side bar on this often referenced stat. The "less than 4 years" counts every single player to even get an invite to a camp. All the wash outs bring the average down. When you remove the camp fodder guys, I believe it's more like 6+ years. Let me try to dig up an article... Edit: Here's what I found with some quick googling... Players who make a team’s opening day roster in his rookie season average a six-year career. A player on a team’s roster for at least three games in at least three seasons plays for an average of 7.1 years. First-round draft picks have average careers of 9.3 years. The average career length skyrockets to 11.7 years for a player who is chosen for or plays in a Pro Bowl at least once in his career. Wallace falls into the first two bullets. But I absolutely agree with you that these guys should get as much money as possible, as quickly as possible, because it can all end just as quickly. Wallace may not get another contract after this one. So, good for Levi. -

From what folks can gather out of Beane's press conference and the answers he gave regarding the McKissic debacle, the Bills didn't give Wallace's camp a solid offer because they were moving that money to McKissic. Then when McKissic went back to Washington, Wallace had already signed with Pitt, and Beane was pissed because we could have made a better effort to sign Wallace and not have that hole.
