  1. It will get there. It does every year. Is what it is.
  2. That's what the 2nd tier guys are for. Another Bates/Boettger/DWilliams type, or 2. And a 1st or 2nd round G would most definitely be a starter. With the number of CBs and C/Gs the Bills have met with, we will be looking for starters at both positions from this draft.
  3. I guess Brady unretirement didnt sway him much.
  4. Nah. Mods will/should consolidate this to a "Moves around the league" thread.
  5. I dont expect us to be active at all today. Or even much this week. We have no money, and this is when prices are the highest. Beane will bring in 1-2 2nd tier guys, and draft a C/G. That's about it (imo).
  6. Womp, first announcement of tampering period...
  7. We have a looming deadline to be under the cap by Wednesday. We can always re-sign Williams to a smaller number and bring him back.
  8. I thought both were recently legalized.
  9. Also, both sides obviously negotiate through the media. The team uses the media to put pressure on the state, and vice versa. Take everything with a huge grain of salt.
  10. NYS could come up with $1B with no issue. Legalizing and taxing weed and sports gambling could probably pay for it within a year or two. Or go hit up Wall Street, where folks make and lose $1B every morning before breakfast.
  11. No, not really. They mentioned Austin in a report. That is all. And it was a report put together by the firm Jerry Jones brought in. And there is NO WAY Jones is allowing yet another team into his market. It was not a threat. It was an example.
  12. From the list of known meetings, the Bills met with more C/Gs and CBs than any other position, by a pretty good amount too (WR was up there as well, but not as much as C/G). It is almost a certainty Beane drafts at least 1. He'll get his house in order too. That why I said he'll sign a couple of mid-tiers in free agency.
  13. I'd love that too, but not sure anyone will be there #25 that is worth the pick. Assuming Linderbaum is gone before then, it isnt worth reaching for a guy we could get in the 2nd. Maaaaybe Kenyon Green. I wouldnt mind trading up to around #20 to get Linderbaum. As I dig deeper on the guys we met with, I could see Beane going with Cam Jurgens in like the 4th or 5th as a possible Center replacement for Morse.
  14. Would love it, but not expecting anything even close in FA. I think Beane's plan will be to sign a couple of mid-tier FAs, and draft a C/G in the 2nd or 3rd round (and maybe even another in the 6th/7th). Here are the guys to watch from our meeting list... Cam Jurgens - C/G Nebraska Logan Bruss - C/G Wisconsin Zion Johnson - C/G Boston College Lecitus Smith - G Virginia Tech Dohnovan West - C/G Arizona State Kenyon Green - C/G Texas A&M
  15. Reich apologizes to Colts for Carson Wentz https://sports.yahoo.com/frank-reich-reportedly-apologized-to-colts-ownership-for-vouching-for-carson-wentz-002956122.html
  16. This was (yet another) great 30 For 30 that really highlights how much Deion got screwed over in the court of public perception. Largely by the selfish Atlanta Braves organization. What should have been one of the most covered, celebrated moments in sports was twisted into a reason to bag on the guy. A real shame. Absolute phenomenal athlete (still #2 to Bo Jackson tho).
  17. I give them the most credit for being so quick to realize the mistake and cut bait. So many NFL guys would stubbornly stick with it and go down with that ship.
  18. I believe the phrase was... "F$&% them picks" Seemed to work for the Rams. Agreed that once you are this close, the strategy changes. The "process" changes. Beane needs to be ready to strike while the iron is hot. I know McBeane want to build and maintain a perennial playoff team, but I'll take our chances at a couple of down years if we bring home a Super Bowl. For what it's worth, if/when the Bills win a Super Bowl I may take a year or two away from following football as it is (who am I kidding, I'll be there for every down). So Cleveland has multiple NFL teams that left to win Super Bowls while still having none of their own. Ouch.
  19. Alright, I was hoping so but it's tough to tell sometimes. Well played, @Buffalo_Stampede
  20. Did you see the Jags game to end their season?
  21. Absolutely not making fun of him. But the thread title is really witty and well-done.
  22. Thanks for the info. I re-sorted by position and quantity. Not surprising, C/G and CB lead the way, with WR not too far behind. And DT getting a little love too. Cam Jurgens - C/G Nebraska Logan Bruss - C/G Wisconsin Zion Johnson - C/G Boston College Lecitus Smith - G Virginia Tech Dohnovan West - C/G Arizona State Kenyon Green - C/G Texas A&M Josh Thompson - CB Texas (Senior Bowl) Roger McCreary - CB Auburn Trent McDuffie - CB - Washington Kaiir Elam - CB Florida Kyler Gordon - CB Washington Andrew Booth - CB Clemson Jameson Williams- WR Bama Treylon Burks - WR Arkansas Garrett Wilson - WR OSU Chris Olave - WR OSU John Metchie III - WR Bama Jordan Davis - DT Georgia Perrion Winfrey - DT Oklahoma Phidarian Mathis - DT Bama Max Borghi - RB Washington State Rachaad White - RB Arizona State Brandon Smith - LB PSU Darrian Beavers - LB Cincinnati Malik Willis - QB Liberty Cade Otton - TE Washington Matt Araiza - P San Diego State Arnold Ebiketie - DE PSU Jaquan Brisker - S - PSU
  23. PLENTY of mediocre players make $5-7M/yr in the NFL.
