Right. The RB discussion is fun/interesting for all us armchair GMs, but I smirk when I see the criticism of "wasting" a couple of mid-round picks. Valid criticism and discussion point, but we still have one of the best rosters in the league so not sure how much more Beane could have done. Especially when I look back at the rest of the picks in both Singletary's 3rd round, and Moss's 3rd round. No one else jumps off the page as "We shouldve picked that guy instead". Even looking into the 4th rounds.

Full Chris Simms Visit with Josh Allen
DrDawkinstein replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Took me a few days to work back to this, but what a great way to start my Friday. I just love Josh so much. We are very lucky to have him. -
I feel like the 2nd round is the sweet spot for teams that are already built and just looking for the RB to push them over the top. Using a 1st is too early, and mid/late rounds you might as well just try to strike oil in an UDFA. 2nd round is high enough to get talent, without wasting the valuable first. Beane tried a couple of 3rd rounders and theyve been mediocre. I like what he was trying to do in pushing the RB window back a round, but I think he finally realized that drop off from the 2nd to 3rd is real. Also, see Thurman Thomas.

NFL Covid policy....does anyone know what it is?
DrDawkinstein replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll search for a link, but I believe I read it's all over as it pertains to player policies and requirements. As are stadium policies for fans. -
Ravens being arguably the best managed team in the NFL should be smarter than to do anything like that. No way should he get $200M+ fully guaranteed. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, especially with Jackson going no-agent and representing himself. Wonder if we see Jackson end up in Miami next year...

Yeah, 2020 wasnt a big year for him. About 900 yds total and only a few TDs. Guess that's the difference between Goff and Stafford. Kupp is by far their #1 weapon and put up over 1900 yds last year. If we hold their bell-cow to only 100 yds and 1 TD next week, I'd say our chances of winning are pretty good.

One could argue those stats are a success for the Bills D.

Wrong on all accounts! Off to a great start with the new profile! Another douche for the pile of TBD.

Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.

Specifically the Vontaze Burfict hit. Brown would say the concussion effects lingered for "only" 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS! That is a looooooong time to be feeling those effects. -
Interesting choice of words there, Augie Rodgers.

That is one ugly-ass, soulless house.

It's truly unbelievable how bad its gotten. And it keeps getting worse!

McDermott/Beane press conference 8/27: Matt Araiza released

Good insight and comments by Morse (continued in the Twitter comments too). Doesnt seem that it will have too bad of an impact on the team. -
Extend Po Now - Protect the Culture
DrDawkinstein replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we could get him around that $10M/yr figure as well. The problem is, is that the best place to spend $10M? We have a lot of guys coming due for new contracts, and if that $10M could go to someone in their 20s instead of the wrong side of 30, I'd probably spend it there. To OP's point, I dont think extending him or not has anything to do with "culture". And I'm a big culture guy. -
My brain says Rams, and that's how I voted. But my heart hopes for the 49ers since Miami has their 1st round pick, and the better the 9ers do, the later the Phins pick.

Why would the Bills get legally involved at all? Maybe we should just stop judging the legitimacy of the case by the lawyers' behavior. -

His client went from being ignored and silenced by local police/university to the story being the top headline of the weekend. I'd say he's doing fine by her. If he looks a little silly in the meantime, whatever. -

The lawyer putting this in the national spotlight is the only way this got traction in almost a year of no movement and roadblocks by the police and university. You dont like it, take it up with the school and police. -

Exactly. And they didnt want this coming out during all that which would sully the program, lose them funding for the stadium, and maybe even kill their chances of getting into the larger conference. -

San Diego State wants to protect its football team since it is the main source of income. Police want to protect the local University which donates big money to their Benevolent association. This is all too common.
