Will the opener be blacked out by Spectrum and espy
DrDawkinstein replied to Liberal Bob's topic in The Stadium Wall
Take the amount you pay per month for cable: $100(?) Divide that by 30 days in the month = $3.33/day Divide $3.33 by the 200 channels your cable service provides = $0.016 That is your per day credit for missing a channel. -
I hear ya. I would love to hear some stories about the stuff the Pouncey twins and Percy Harvin (among others) would get into. I think that is all more in line with the stuff from The U episodes. Especially juxtaposed with Tebow and his image. Would love to know more about how he handled and lead that team of bad boys as such a choir boy. The problem is, once you start digging into that darker side, where do you stop without looking dishonest, or without turning your Championship recap into another expose that players no longer want to participate in.

This was not a hard-hitting, gritty, investigation into all the dirt and scandal that surrounded the team. This is a recap and showcase of one of the most exciting college teams I've had the pleasure of watching, and all their success ON THE FIELD. And I'm fine with it. It's a football doc about football. The same way as a kid in the 80s and 90s I would watch recaps of some of the great teams from the past, and just enjoyed the exciting things they did on the field. News flash, ALL of those teams had scumbags on them as well. It just wasnt so well known and front and center as it is in these modern times. Sure, they didn't have double-murderers on them, but there were plenty of addicts, abusers, bigots, and general "not nice people" that played the game in the 60s, 70,s 80s, 90s, etc. We can have (and do have) plenty of other docu-series on all the scandals. I'd love to see one that focuses on Urban Meyer's entire career. But I also enjoy this for what it is. As someone who had recently just moved down to SEC country as Tebow and the Gators were ascending, it was a great intro to SEC football. And watching Tebow will his way to a championship is something I'll always remember. Good times.

TCU have been paper tigers since they were severely overrated last season. And they were a much better team last season. But it's still a big deal, and fun storyline, for Colorado to come in and "shock the world" like they did. They probably wont hold up against tougher/real competition. And it will be interesting to see what happens if they every need to rely on their HC to coach them into a victory. But as a casual college football fan, I'm here for all of it. I'll also say this: If Deion never wins anything as a coach but manages to get his son drafted as a top QB prospect and a chance at a $250M 2nd contract then the whole thing was worth it.

What would you do if TB said "OK, we'll give you Mike Evans for Gabe Davis and a 5th"?

I can see all the content PREVIEWS as well. Past episodes of PTI and NFL Live as well. But when you click to watch it, it won't let you. If you can, then you are signed in with a TV provider as well. That's how they get ya. Lure you into wanting to watch something, but then you cant. If you go into Account Settings, you'll see the ESPN app has TWO different sign-in options. "Sign into ESPN+" and "Sign into Cable Provider". Does it show you signed into a Cable Provider?
-
No. If all you are paying for is ESPN+/Disney Bundle then you will not get live college football, NFL Live, PTI, etc. You'll get some exclusive ESPN+ live games, usually B-sports like NHL, Soccer, smaller college sports like volleyball, baseball, soccer. But to get the content that is on the broadcast stations you have to have a cable subscription or hulu live tv subscription. Scroll down on this page to see what you get access to https://plus.espn.com/ From the FAQ:

Good call, but the NHL games were exclusive ESPN+ live content. You can get those with just the ESPN+ app, that is true. But those also arent being shown on ESPN broadcast TV. They may show MNF as ESPN+ content as well. However, I can't get, for example, College Gameday and the football games that are live on ESPN and ESPN2 this Saturday without the Spectrum login working. The Spectrum lockout has nothing to do with account sharing, they're in dispute with Disney right now.
-
If you only have ESPN+ (or the Disney+ package), you can't watch live ESPN events. You only get ESPN+ content like the 30for30s. In the ESPN app, you also have to log into a cable provider account in order to watch ESPN live. I know this because this is how I watch ESPN. My family shares streaming logins, and I use my parents' Spectrum account in the ESPN app. Couldn't do it without it, I've tried. @Beast sounds like you're logged into your Spectrum account on the app as well.

Just fell victim to this right as I was turning the CFB game on as well. What a bite! I'm sure it will be resolved before the Bills game, if not this weekend 🤞 But as a contingency plan for next Monday, if you have Hulu, you can upgrade to the Live TV package for the night to get the game and then cancel it. Or find someone with a login to an account on another cable provider to stream on ESPN app.

ok, you got me, that was probably too rough. BWill is all good in my book. 👍

Physically, no he is not. But he is the far more experienced vet and already has good experience moving teams and re-learning schemes. Smith only ever knew 1 scheme and was able to jump right into a new scheme. It's not impossible or even unlikely. If it takes him a month, then I'd be concerned about our coaching and/or Kirksey.
-
This exactly. McD doesnt require an all-pro LB in the middle, but his defense sure runs a lot better with one. The problem is Edmunds never developed into an All-Pro level player. He plateaued at the Pro-Bowl Alternate level, which we all know is no where near the same. In light of that, regardless of how important the position is or isnt, you dont sink $18M/year into that player.

If a rich, bored girl posting Tik Toks of herself doing pilates counts, then yes, she was a "fitness instructor". Interesting to know that they have people/advisors just off camera. Especially for something so candid and off the cuff as McAfee.

Bills lose Anderson, Austin and Broeker to claims.

QB is the most important position. QB was the Jets' issue last year. The rest of their roster is ridiculously talented. This shouldnt be news to anyone following the division. -
You assume they thought our MLBs were actually good and not just "what we currently have to work with". I'd guess Beane has had his eye out for an affordable upgrade at MLB since free agency started. But contracts are always at a premium in May, and far more affordable in late August. Plenty of teams (all of them?) brought in guys from other cuts yesterday. It's part of the business and standard procedure. Not due to a mis-evaluation by the FO.

He wont be on the PS long, and if I could make $1.08M for a few months work I would keep showing up until they told me to stay home.

There is an SI.com article posted a few times in this thread that has a decent explanation. Long story short, they save $5.2M on the cap, he had tweaked a hammy at the start of camp, and Demeco Ryans as a D coach and former LB wants to bring in his own guys. edit: found it https://www.si.com/nfl/texans/news/houston-texans-53-man-roster-cutdown-day-christian-kirksey-demeco-ryans

Bills sign QB to PS-Shane Buechele

Remember tho, Fromm has less than 4 years in the league so he went through Waivers. We would have had to claim him off waivers, and doing so carries and active roster requirement. We're trying to find a QB for the PS.
