  1. Guess what, Jones comes out and the whole d scheme falls apart when it comes to winning a Super Bowl. Not even worth the cost of the call just to be laughed at and hung up on. What about the Roquan Smith deal that has him at $9M and $13M the first two years to give us some cover while the cap increases? That deal is an $11M average over the first 2 years, with an out after year 3.
  2. The Bills under McD have never won a playoff game? I must've hallucinated those games against the Colts, Ravens, Pats, and Dolphins. No one has won a Super Bowl with a Tampa-2? Dont tell Tampa that. Look, I'm not much of a fan of the Cover2/Tampa2 (since at least the Jauron days), but let's not act like it's impossible to win a Champ with it. The key to winning a SB, no matter what D scheme you are running, is being able to pressure the QB with just 4 rushers. That is how the wild card Giants beat the undefeated Patriots, that's how Tampa beat the Chiefs, that's how Denver beat Carolina, etc. And that is how we were winning games the first half of the season before Von went down. Blitzing and rushing more than 4 will get you killed by any QB good enough to make a Super Bowl.
  3. Aholes - 33 Dbags - 28 I'll let you decide which is which.
  4. That said, 14-3 and the Bills win the Super Bowl. LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO I think Tua's dad will ride him until he gets a 2nd contract, even if he's completely incapacitated. That's the kind of parent he is.
  5. I like your overall philosophy, and I like Diggs there when we need 3-5 yards and if Dorsey would actually call a quick slant (to be determined). But not sure how much Diggs should be there regularly.
  6. Polian also drafted in the days when they had 12 rounds, and sometimes 14+ picks! In that case, a 5th rounder was a Day 1 pick!
  7. Ehh, Davis had over twice as many targets this year as Foster in the year you cite. I attribute that to the Josh/Dorsey philosophy of having never seen a bomb they dont like. Way too many times this year the Bills would get the ball back and go bomb-bomb-sack-punt. I dont think they were ALL misses by Josh, but I think a good portion of them were bad decisions - throwing deep, low percentage balls into tight coverage (and sometimes into double and triple coverage). Throw another 50 bombs at Foster, against Defenses that are knowingly baiting Josh to throw it deep, and see how it goes. Davis definitely had a disappointing season on his own and has a lot to improve upon, I am not arguing against that. But so do Dorsey and Josh from this year.
  8. It's McD's scheme. So even if we replace Frazier, expect a DC who runs something like what we already have. Maybe with different playcalling or strategy, but the base D will likely be the same or very similar. That sucks for fans who want a change, but is good news for if we re-sign Edmunds.
  9. 12-5, win the AFCE. We'll see from there.
  10. Good news then, we wouldnt be paying Edmunds that much for a couple more years. We dont have much money to spend on anyone, let alone high-$$ positions like WR and OL. Those are likely going to come via the draft.
  11. See the post below. The easiest way to get him under $10M is to re-sign him. At least for the first year or two, and hope the cap goes up enough to absorb the contract as it grows. I'd bring him back on the Smith deal. $9M next year, $13M year 2. That is plenty of runway for the cap to grow.
  12. I dont disagree, I lean towards your side that it's still an impressive stat. But I'd still like to see how it compares in order to give it some real context. I've said the same thing about Doug Whaley, when he had so many former Bills still playing in the league who had been cut from the Bills in our numerous coaching and D-scheme changes.
  13. At that point, I start questioning coaching and our approach to slowly developing rookies. Hard to make a difference when you dont get played. Hard to make a difference when you cant find your rhythm. And then we wonder why the guys are still slow out of the gate their second year as well. They have no momentum, and they have no urgency. I'd at least like to know how it compares to other teams/GMs.
  14. I can definitely seeing us trading out of the 1st and into the 2nd, and picking up a mid/late round pick in the process. Move from 27 to somewhere around 35.
  15. Doubly frustrating then on how little and poorly he was used.
  16. WOW, what a story. What a crazy, messed up year/season surrounding the Bills. No wonder everyone was burnt out and ready to move on. Hope the entire organization can take some time off, take a breath, and move forward into next year.
  17. I dont see how that has anything to do with the conversation of GMs/Owners having the guts to move on from winning Coaches. But that means someone will almost certainly try to use it to argue against me, so thanks for the heads up!
  18. Imagine what Charger fans must be going through this offseason. All the reasons to fire Staley, AND they wouldve been front-runners for Payton. But nah, RUN IT BACK! DO IT AGAIN!
  19. I dont think it was big guts to move on from Wentz. And if Pederson wanted to make a stink about it and lay his neck on the line then so be it. I give Rosen a bunch of credit, dont get me wrong. I just dont see how any of that is analogous to the Bills situation. Other than folks wanting the Bills to fire a winning HC, but without the rationale.
  20. You're looking at a split-second snapshot of an entire series of events through even that simple hug. Dont read too much into single pictures. This happens all the time with pictures of world leaders shaking hands and a picture blowing up because the leaders "look mad at each other", and then you watch the tape and they were all smiles, but it was the moment one was looking into the sun and the other had to sneeze or some other weird *****. Josh was exhausted. Tua probably cant even remember that moment. Moving on.
  21. Ok, and who is the hot-handed winner on our team that needs the chance they arent getting?
  22. I posted this elsewhere, but check out Roquan Smith's new deal for a decent framework of what Edmunds' deal will look like. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/roquan-smith-25103/ $9M cap hit next year. Which would be a reduction for Edmunds from $12M this year. And a potential out after 3 years. And regarding roles, while Edmunds doesnt rush the passer, what he does for us in the Pass game is almost irreplaceable (and I say this as a historical Edmunds detractor) Git r dun.
  23. The Eagles had a 3-Man QB Controversy between Wentz, Foles, and Hurts that pitted Coaches against Coaches, and Coaches against Front Office. That is the only reason they fired Pederson and revamped the coaching staff. Not some guru GM amazing foresight.
  24. Saw those two out there as well. To be fair to Beane, Safety wasnt a major concern last May because we had two starters in place, and two backups we had been developing for years. No one knew we'd lose both starters to injury and then only one of those backups would be worth playing, and then HE went and died on us.
