Dont forget there is an Edmunds on the Steelers too! (And we could probably use him at Safety)

How do the Bills win the Super Bowl next year?
DrDawkinstein replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Score points. Hold the other teams to less points than we score. Do that like 20 times. -
Not at all my dude! I only pointed it out because we're usually in agreement on things.

For real, this is just week 3 of the offseason. Wait until June...
-
So sign Edmunds and go OL/WR/OL or WR/OL/OL in the draft
-
Ehh, well that's fine then. For the record, I wasnt trying to be overly argumentative with you. I was genuinely curious if there was a part of the Cap stuff I wasnt understanding correctly since it's all smoke and mirrors and rainbows and magic. I was a huge Edmunds detractor through last offseason, but if we could get him back on a long term deal structured like Smith's, then I'm all for it. Beane needs to flip his usual script (Draft Defense/FA Offense), and re-sign Edmunds and spend the draft on OL and WR. Go Bills!
-
That's Pegula's Cash that only matters to Terry. Not the Cap Hit number that affects what Beane can spend. I don't care about Pegula's cash. The Cap Hit and Dead Cap numbers are the only ones that matter.

Did you look at the detail of the Roquan deal I provided? I wouldnt say starting at $9M and $13M, and then ramping up to $27.5M at the back end is "even". Nor am I understanding what you mean by "the 3 year out will be $60M"? It would be $60M total paid over 4 years for an average of $15M/yr hit, and that last $15M hitting in year 4.
-
I'm not sure I follow what you mean there, considering we arent in the old Cash to Cap days. His first year is a Cap Hit of $9M. That is all that needs to be accounted for on the cap. Numbers laid out below.
-
He definitely has the whole Modern Journalism thing down. Post a rumor on Twitter, News picks it up and reports on the Tweet, Use that News Story on your Tweet to confirm your rumor. Profit. I'd be totally fine with matching the Roquan deal. Cheap first 2 years, reasonable 3rd year, and then you can get out. The $20M average is just the market we're going to have to get used to as fans.

Frazier: The hard FACTS on why many of us want a change.
DrDawkinstein replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are definitely FACTS presented. But I'm not sure it's a valid logical conclusion to say "The teams the Bills lose to have poor Offensive performances the next week, so therefore <conclusion>" Seems a bit correlation = causation at face value, but I'm still digesting that big first post. -
Would you resign Edmunds or a tackle?

Guess what, Jones comes out and the whole d scheme falls apart when it comes to winning a Super Bowl. Not even worth the cost of the call just to be laughed at and hung up on. What about the Roquan Smith deal that has him at $9M and $13M the first two years to give us some cover while the cap increases? That deal is an $11M average over the first 2 years, with an out after year 3. -

The Bills under McD have never won a playoff game? I must've hallucinated those games against the Colts, Ravens, Pats, and Dolphins. No one has won a Super Bowl with a Tampa-2? Dont tell Tampa that. Look, I'm not much of a fan of the Cover2/Tampa2 (since at least the Jauron days), but let's not act like it's impossible to win a Champ with it. The key to winning a SB, no matter what D scheme you are running, is being able to pressure the QB with just 4 rushers. That is how the wild card Giants beat the undefeated Patriots, that's how Tampa beat the Chiefs, that's how Denver beat Carolina, etc. And that is how we were winning games the first half of the season before Von went down. Blitzing and rushing more than 4 will get you killed by any QB good enough to make a Super Bowl. -
Aholes - 33 Dbags - 28 I'll let you decide which is which.
-
That said, 14-3 and the Bills win the Super Bowl. LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO I think Tua's dad will ride him until he gets a 2nd contract, even if he's completely incapacitated. That's the kind of parent he is.

Who's our slot WR in 2023, Shakir or...?
DrDawkinstein replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like your overall philosophy, and I like Diggs there when we need 3-5 yards and if Dorsey would actually call a quick slant (to be determined). But not sure how much Diggs should be there regularly. -

Polian also drafted in the days when they had 12 rounds, and sometimes 14+ picks! In that case, a 5th rounder was a Day 1 pick! -
Ehh, Davis had over twice as many targets this year as Foster in the year you cite. I attribute that to the Josh/Dorsey philosophy of having never seen a bomb they dont like. Way too many times this year the Bills would get the ball back and go bomb-bomb-sack-punt. I dont think they were ALL misses by Josh, but I think a good portion of them were bad decisions - throwing deep, low percentage balls into tight coverage (and sometimes into double and triple coverage). Throw another 50 bombs at Foster, against Defenses that are knowingly baiting Josh to throw it deep, and see how it goes. Davis definitely had a disappointing season on his own and has a lot to improve upon, I am not arguing against that. But so do Dorsey and Josh from this year.

It's McD's scheme. So even if we replace Frazier, expect a DC who runs something like what we already have. Maybe with different playcalling or strategy, but the base D will likely be the same or very similar. That sucks for fans who want a change, but is good news for if we re-sign Edmunds.
