That's cool and all, until you look around at the candidates out there and find out Brady is one of the top options as it is. There's been such a rush to push Offensive coaches up the ladder and make them HCs that we're to the point most of the proven talent is gone and already in HC or OC jobs.

Building a team to beat another team is one of the dumbest moves a GM can make. By the time you are built, that team and the game in general, has already shifted to something else and you are left behind. Just build the best F$#&in team of a$$-kicking football players and be the team everyone else needs to build to beat. Beane has already done his job and put together a talented roster. I agree that it has improved since the bye, but special teams are still a mess. Letting the Pats open with a kickoff return TD in week 17 is just ridiculous. We're trying to be a playoff/Super Bowl team. We need more/better coaches, not this barebones staff. Terry has the money to bring it in, McD has to let go of the vine on one or the other.

They need to either hire a DC so Sean can go back to his real job, or he can choose to stay at DC and let Terry hire a Head Coach. There is a reason that the Offense and Special Teams units come out flat every game and the Defense is the only unit that is fired up and ready to play. 2/3s of the team are missing a Head Coach.

I get that you are saying having the lead first helps. But what about having the lead last? How do the numbers play out on that?

I'd love to see McD win the coaching battles of situational football decisions against Reid and Harbaugh (and Shanahan or whoever). We havent seen much improvement in that area even if the last 6 weeks. But fingers crossed that we see some steps in the right direction since it's that type of thing that determines wins in the playoffs. If he wins a Super Bowl he can do whatever he wants and I'll never question him again.
