RD 5, Pick 150: WR Justin Shorter, Florida

Wow. Antonio Johnson and Luke Wypler still out there. Teams must know something the public doesnt. Eagles stacking players from UGA champ team. Bills stacking players from... Florida, oof. 🤣🤣 But at this point of the draft, sure, whatever they want to do. -
goddammit

I dont really get the pick, but at this point there arent any players left that I know that well anyways. Like others said, low talent draft. So it's whatever from here on out.
-
Milano was scouted by Whaley and his team, which for all their faults, were great at identifying LBs. Just sayin.
-
Rams line was pretty good when they won the Super Bowl too and we just brought in one of his lineman from that team. I'm expecting big improvements and getting back on track this year.
-
Yeah, getting him at 59 definitely makes me feel better about it.
-
Oof, alright guys, this was the slap in the face I needed to snap out of it. I'm coming around on the pick.

The whole interior is crowded but still odd. McGovern Edwards Torrence Bates Boettger
-
Torrence RG only.

That. Cant get out on the move that well. He can push straight ahead well, but is soft if he has to move laterally. Plus I dont like how that Florida team played so not high on players coming out of there. I dunno. I dont want to bag on the kid too bad. I'm cheering for him now that he is a Bill. Just wish the draft went differently.

I understand that. I was hoping we could jump the Giants for JMS. I'm not saying Beane screwed up. I'm merely talking about player preference.
-
Gonna have to give me some time on this one. As someone who spent the last 2 months banging the board for the Bills to draft IOL, Torrence was my least favorite prospect. Would rather have snagged Tippman or Schmitz. Torrence reminds me too much of Cody Ford. I hope he does well. I appreciate the pick at OL. But I'll have to come around on this one in time.

Yes. Last guy with a 1st round grade, and he was a need. And Dallas was going to take him. Had to happen.

Take a break, man.

We didnt draft a TE tho. We drafted a slot WR. And he should be able to contribute there right away, and then maybe grow into a TE spot.

Do every GM with your same negative attitude and see how they hold up. You might find 2 maybe 3 that has done better. But you dont want that perspective, you wouldnt be able to complain.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract

I know. I was mostly sticking it to C Biscuit and Billl who were in the middle of their "victory lap" claiming how right they were. Figured congratulating someone else would be a funny/dick move. And Doc, and the rest of us, were right. -
Dalton Kincaid, and the perfect nickname.

Kincaid's ceiling is Kelce. Mayers ceiling is Lee Smith. See, anyone can just pull bad comparisons out their ass.
-
Yeah, the thing with Gesicki is that if you consider him a WR then he is just an ok WR. He's a good receiver "for a TE". But wont make the full transition to full time WR. Kincaid looks like a true WR that was designated to the TE position. 🤞

The nickname I've seen kicking around social media is "Cole Big-sley" and I'm liking it.

The bold is where you get off track. Knox is out there running routes and getting wide open. His lack of targets is solely on Josh deciding to go deep on low percentage hero balls instead of taking the underneath routes and moving the chains. Some folks believe that was due to his elbow injury, which is possible. If Josh's arm is better, and he goes back to taking open guys like the first 6 weeks, then Kincaid is set to light it up. Along with Knox, and Diggs, and Cook, and... Also, dont think of this kid as merely a TE. He was the #1 Slot WR in the draft. That is what we drafted. Not an inline, blocking TE. But a 6'4' 245lb Cole Beasley.

Nomenclature question for the board...
DrDawkinstein replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
According to Beane, if they couldnt trade up/land Kincaid then the next step was to trade out of the 1st. That would indicate that their grading on Kincaid had him as the only 1st round talent left, and by far the Best Player Available. So they went and got him. He was the Best Player Available since maybe pick 23, and the only 1st round player left, and at a need of pass catching play maker. That's about as clear cut as it can get. (Which is not very)
