Mt. Rushmore of 80's Music
DrDawkinstein replied to BringMetheHeadofLeonLett's topic in Off the Wall
I often look at 1984 similar to 1992, as a year a ton of amazing albums were released. Some changing the future of music forever. Van Halen - 1984 Prince - Purple Rain Metallica - Ride the Lightning Madonna - Like a Virgin Sade - Diamond Life Run DMC - Run DMC The Smiths - The Smiths Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA ZZ Top - Eliminator The Police - Synchronicity Culture Club - Colour by Numbers Billy Joel - An Innocent Man Lionel Richie - Cant Slow Down Huey Lewis & The News - Sports Those were all the same year! And it's not even a complete list. -
My only solace is that it's all 3 other teams EXCEPT the Pats getting good. The AFC East being talked about as "The best division in the NFL, except for the floundering Patriots" is enough to warm my heart. We'll take care of the Dolphins and Jets as needed. Reminds me of the 90s again. And Im here for it.

Oh, we absolutely have our "favorites". The Honorary TBD Whipping Boy goes back to the discussion board days. Whether it was Edmunds and McKenzie, or Leodis McKelvin, or Lee Evans, or Chris Kelsay, or...

How? It shows a $99M dead cap hit for this year if he is released. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/green-bay-packers/aaron-rodgers-3745/ I agree that it looks like NEXT YEAR they can get out of it at pretty much any time. Although there is still $150M in guarantees, but I can see those are Option Bonuses starting in 2024.

I dont disagree with much here. But I am curious to the bold. Who do you think is getting the privilege of having their mistakes overlooked or forgotten? From what I've seen out of Bills fans over the past year, EVERY mistake by EVERY player is blown up and over-critiqued until it has been beaten into the ground. Somewhere over the last year BillsMafia decided that only ABSOLUTE PERFECTION will be tolerated (not even celebrated). I cant think of a single player that has managed to stay above it. Even Diggs and Josh.

They wont be here when we win, or they'll change their tune. We've both been here long enough to have seen it before.

A lot of Bills fans are not coping well with a single traumatic incident.

And spend 8 years of your life with Saban and Belichick, you will know technique and assignments.

Bills hosting/hosted David Edwards on visit
DrDawkinstein replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
Looks like he had a great year in 2021, playing 100% of the offensive snaps all the way through a Super Bowl victory. Got concussed last year and shut down. Should be ok with an entire offseason of recovery as well. Could be a sneaky huge signing. -
Motor was very good in pass blocking. If he were still on the team, Harris would be our best pass blocking RB. And that isnt a knock on Motor at all.
-
You ok, @HappyDays? We got Harris and Sherfield for the price of 1 Devin Singletary. Sounds fair.
-
I'd bet good money that I could find a post from you knocking Frazier/The Bills for NOT adjusting the D when Harris was running all over us, only to turn around and use that same criticism the opposite way, to say Harris isnt that good because we didn't adjust to him... Can't win with some folks.
-
I'm trying to zoom in to see if I can find the $$$ info!
-
Ironic considering we got their KR in Hines who took McK's job. Wonder if theyll have McK on returns.
-
Sure, but the last part is kinda my point. It's just a single backup signing. Doesnt stop them from bringing in others.
-
It baffles me that every March people completely forget that we need to go into camp with 90 players! Need able bodies, folks!
-
Goodell hiding in the bushes!
-
Singletary's number came out same day at 1/$3.75M Poyer's took a couple days and was much lower than folks thought it might be. Half of Spotrac's valuation. Sherfield's took a day and is now reported at 1/$1.77M Harris' number still sitting out there. The longer it goes, the closer it gets to Sherfield

I'm skipping right to the end of the thread because I assume the previous 4 pages is everyone being super happy about this re-signing, knowing we have the final piece added to the OL... edit: LOL, like clockwork, the next post.... VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

It's great work if you can get it!
-
The league is making a ton of money, is setup to make even more money in the very near future, and Goodell consistently is the fall guy that takes the heat for the owners. With those being the primary function of his job, I'm not sure I'd say he's doing a lousy job. He makes unpopular moves, but they are popular with his bosses, and that's what counts for him.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
DrDawkinstein replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not so sure it's delusions of grandeur. Someone made a great point somewhere that said, without an agent and real representation, Lamar has basically NO endorsement deals. Even if he had an agent, he isnt a great spokesman/actor/face of a product as it is. So with that, he knows he isnt going to get many/any endorsements and has to plan on not making that money like most other QBs. That is why Watson pushed for the large, fully guaranteed contract. He DEFINITELY isnt getting any endorsement deals, and has to make all his money in the NFL alone. Jackson is following that model. So in that light, I do get where Lamar is coming from. Even though I think he is wrong in just about every other way he is handling this. I dont think the entire XFL payroll adds up to what Lamar is asking for. Not even sure the entire LEAGUE is worth $250M -
But he's decent in pass protect, so run a play action and keep him in to block. Trick the D and help keep Josh clean.
