  1. It's not your or my or our job to find them. When we fired Rex, did you even know Sean McDermott existed? I didn't. But the consulting firm helped Terry identify him as a candidate, and the professionals worked it out from there. Look in our own division. The Miami Dolphins. They had a Defensive-minded, supposed "high character" guy who couldn't get the most from his talented roster and was neutering their franchise QB. They fire Flores and bring in McDaniel, an unheard of dork, and Tua sees immediate improvement and here they are in year 2 as the #1 seed in the AFC and about to take the Division from us. No major tear down and rebuild, just a quick change to a younger, modern, Offensive minded HC. Heck with that said, if the O continues to put up 30+ every game, hand the keys to Brady and let's roll. The new coach may or may not take us to the promise land, but we know based on MULTIPLE examples that McDermott simply can't/won't.
  2. Which NFL head coach(es) would you describe as humble and not arrogant?
  3. It was more a burn on that dummy Pat Moran who will never live down sacrificing his child for a fake Shawn Merriman steroids story.
  4. He held a press conference yesterday and publicly apologized
  5. Kinda makes sense in that Robbie is a new, younger Jamie Pressly, and McD is a new, younger Dick Jauron. 🤷‍♂️
  6. It's not that direct. It could also be that Chad chose to leave because of the way McD reacted to the players buying him a truck. Either way, it was a weird, petty move by the HC to have an issue with the WRs buying their coach a car. He doesnt want coaches to be friends with the players, and to some extent that makes sense. But you also have to know when to step back and let them show appreciation. Here's the story:
  7. It proves what it has looked like; our talent has been winning in spite of our coaching. Imagine what this team could look like if we had a coach who was a multiplier instead of a diminisher.
  8. I do like/appreciate this part from the article:
  9. Probably not enough of a story on it's own. But in a 3 article compilation of people recalling his "greatest hits", it's a good anecdote and makes for a few good paragraphs. This is how he introduces it in the article:
  10. He's earned at least $50M already, and will likely bring in another $50M even if he is fired. We're all a bunch of internet-nobodies commenting on this (here, social media, etc) and nothing we say really matters in the grand scheme of things. Don't feel too bad for him. He'll be fine. I'd let all of you say these mean things about me for way less money. It happens for free today!
  11. This is SPORTS journalism. It means absolutely nothing and its main purpose is acting as another marketing arm for whatever league they are covering. This isnt uncovering corruption in the government, or unsafe working conditions at a corporation. IMO, the fact he referred to 9/11 terrorists like that AT ALL is eye-opening, and tells me a lot as to what kind of speaker, motivator, and leader he is (or isnt). Sure, it's from 4 years ago. Sure, he apologized shortly thereafter (as if that does anything in the players' eyes). But the fact his brain went there and his mouth said it is all I need to know.
  12. 2.5 weeks until Christmas. This article went viral. If he got just 100 people to subscribe in order to read it then there is $800 in his pocket, and his travel/gift money for the holidays. Gotta get creative for a Christmas bonus when you're working for yourself.
  13. It's been McD every time so far. But Beane isnt in charge of firing him or addressing it in any way. That can only come from Terry.
  14. It was a joke, and Morse will likely say no one cared. It certainly wasnt this big, confrontational, watershed moment. But even at it's lightest weight, it shows how out of touch McD is with his players, and how he is a boss that rubs them the wrong way as opposed to a good leader.
  15. Wow, I leave for a couple hours to go to lunch, want to come back to talk about footwear and we're already ramped up to "McD envoking the 9/11 terrorists"! Back to this tho. Yeah, no way did he mandate or even suggest players actually wear work boots. He was obviously busting their chops and calling them out to be tougher. THAT SAID, it is piss poor coaching to even do that. Mike McDaniel sees that and buys the entire OL matching Jordans. Pete Carroll sees that and shows up in his own Jordans the next week. Bill Belichick wouldnt even notice what shoes they are wearing because he's busy making sure players know what theyre doing in situational football, and keeping Floyd off a Mayday FG defense. McD, Marrone, Greggggg Williams, and other wannabes are the type to see that and call it out that he wants "work boots and carharts".
  16. You're smart enough to figure this out. I said "doing his thing independently", not as you said "too independent" which doesnt even make sense. So don't confuse yourself. It means he isnt backed by a larger organization, or collecting a regular paycheck. He only eats what he earns. And with smaller(no) budgets for advertising his site and getting his name out there, the easier way to do it is to be more controversial and baiting.
  17. If everything said in this piece about McD is true, then no way he just decides to give up what he wants and let's Brady run loose. Dorsey sucked as an OC. It doesnt need to go deeper than that. Dorsey is gone. That problem has been addressed. On to the next issue: Head Coach.
  18. Even as someone who wants McD gone, I'm clicking this link with a grain of salt. Dunne is a decent writer, but trying to do his own thing independently makes him a little more desparate for clicks than even the normal sports media. Plus, his main source into the NFL is Doug Whaley. So whatever damning piece he write about this regime needs to be tempered a bit. That said, fire McD. Firing Dorsey was the right move tho. Maybe an incomplete move as ownership probably should have fired the HC too. But Dorsey needed to go, regardless of the politics behind it or how we feel about McD. The Offense was sputtering. The Offense was going the first 3 quarters of games without scoring while the D held on for dear life allowing only 10 points. The Offense was the main problem. Now that has been addressed, Josh is "back", and we've scored over 30 points each game since Dorsey was let go. Time to address the Defense. Hand the whole thing over to Brady at this point.
  19. Bro, it's not even worth this effort. I've been making these same arguments since page 2. And they havent even been arguments, just analyzing the real data and seeing what the actual truth is. It doest matter what you can actually prove. Folks here FEEL like we've been lopsided to Defensive spending and anything you show them to prove otherwise will only result in moving the goal posts. We havent been lopsided in drafting, nor free agency spending, nor cap % spending.
  20. Never said he shouldnt be praised. Mahomes is absolutely deserving of every worshipping comment. The point is that both QBs are worthy of praise and both are worthy of criticism. But what we get is 90% criticism of Allen, and 99% praise of Mahomes. If winning a Super Bowl makes it so no one ever criticizes your play again, and other QBs will be only criticized until they win a Super Bowl, then the commentary and analysis isnt worth jack squat (not that it means much in the grand scheme of the world anyways).
  21. Congrats, Dion! Not a knock, but iirc it seems like he is the Bills' nominee every year? I think he needs to challenge the rest of the team to step up and do something worthy of beating him for the nomination next year.
