The nickname I've seen kicking around social media is "Cole Big-sley" and I'm liking it.

The bold is where you get off track. Knox is out there running routes and getting wide open. His lack of targets is solely on Josh deciding to go deep on low percentage hero balls instead of taking the underneath routes and moving the chains. Some folks believe that was due to his elbow injury, which is possible. If Josh's arm is better, and he goes back to taking open guys like the first 6 weeks, then Kincaid is set to light it up. Along with Knox, and Diggs, and Cook, and... Also, dont think of this kid as merely a TE. He was the #1 Slot WR in the draft. That is what we drafted. Not an inline, blocking TE. But a 6'4' 245lb Cole Beasley.

Nomenclature question for the board...
DrDawkinstein replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
According to Beane, if they couldnt trade up/land Kincaid then the next step was to trade out of the 1st. That would indicate that their grading on Kincaid had him as the only 1st round talent left, and by far the Best Player Available. So they went and got him. He was the Best Player Available since maybe pick 23, and the only 1st round player left, and at a need of pass catching play maker. That's about as clear cut as it can get. (Which is not very) -
What are your other real options, considering crying on a message board or calling into WGR doesnt actually do anything?

Bills pick goes in around page 94. Pretty funny stuff, thanks!

Maximum 3% per NFLPA. Star players usually pay more like 1%.

This dude is a slot WR, he should be able to contribute pretty quickly in some form.

Good catch on which teams were in the stack. Those would all make sense. Wonder how big of a surprise it is.

Bills Social Media team still undefeated

This is the new trend of attitude that is absolutely ruining Bills Mafia right now.

Lions war room really fired up for... a RB...

Thank you @Virgil for doing this again and again and again every year! Thanks to all that participate for making the down time of the offseason go by a little quicker. Go Bills!

THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

No, it was 3 years, $133M fully guaranteed. Which would have been up for renewal sooner. And likely would have been the best deal over all. He got $185M guaranteed over 5 years. Had he taken the 3/$133M, he would have been up for renewal 2 years earlier. And as long as his new, new deal covers that $50M over 2 years gap, he's ahead of the game.

TSW Mock Draft 3.0 Poll - Who should the Bills take at #34

How do we impeach a commissioner? -
I promise his mom is taking more than $5M Right. He used the standard QB leverage and got nothing extra like he wanted. He went all the way to the end point of that leverage and then had to come back to reality.

That isnt the discussion we were having. We arent discussing whether he earned the standard NFL Franchise QB contract. Of course he did. Good for him. We're discussing whether all this drama and holding out got him anything extra. We're discussing whether it was his master business prowess and negotiation skills that got him this deal or not. And my stance is, he didnt do anything special in these contract negotiations to get "more money". His tactics practically cost him money. And he didnt get his demands.
-
The team was willing to pay him. Theyve always been willing to pay him a HUGE deal, top of the league. It was only structure and guarantees they didnt agree to. If I was Lamar's family member, and so concerned over his wealth vs health, I wouldve told him to sign the offer back in 2021. So he could be sitting on over $50M AND play in that playoff game last year.

You are applying "regular player" logic to QBs. This doesnt happen among the highly paid QBs. They get their big deals and wait their turn for the next one. If they all started ripping up deals right away, the owners would stop signing the big QB deals. Give examples.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
DrDawkinstein replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Props to Doc for being right! -
He didnt do anything special or smart. Other than decide to be a QB when he was a kid. He is making more money now simply because time passed and life happened as normal. He didnt get his demands, and he took the standard "next QB in line" contract. Good for him that it was a higher amount than when he started. As it should be. But he caved after he was granted permission to seek a trade and found no market. And after he was tagged and found no market. I dont have any ill will towards Lamar. I'm actually really happy for him that he got paid. Finally. But from a business stand point, he was far more lucky than smart. And that's fine. Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence, etc will all sign bigger contracts. It isnt because they are better at negotiations. It's because they are next in line.

Hurts* But he didnt need to do any of that. His demands of the fully guaranteed had zero affect on any contracts. He could have just said "No, I'm waiting" and been in the exact same situation as other contracts were signed. He made it known publicly that he wanted a fully guaranteed contract, and didnt get it. I dont believe he was just waiting for the market to get to a certain point. He would have signed last year at a lower number than Hurts if it was guaranteed.
