Maybe that is why MCD and Beane stay in house with their Offensive Coordinator choices, Who would come here knowing they would get nothing to work with offensively. Wide Receiver being the obvious.
Literally any coach in the world would jump at a chance to work with a Top 3 QB. You guys are too much.
Go look at the other OCs hired this offseason in all those coaching changes and tell us who was better qualified and with a better track record than Brady.
We already had one of the top candidates on staff, happy to join as a QB Coach, because of Josh.

I’ve always believed in Beane. Not so sure I do now.
This almost seems like arrogance toward all the WR talk thinking he’s smarter than everyone else
I mean, I wont ever say I told you so regarding all the offseason talk about taking 2 WRs early, but if anyone is showing any arrogance here it the folks that worked themselves up into such a lather based on youtube highlight reels, and now you are saying you lost faith in Beane because he didnt do exactly what you, an untrained civilian, wanted him to do. And wanted him to draft guys in the 2nd round that NO team took until the 4th-7th rounds.
Who is thinking they are smarter than anyone else?
I know you are feeling let down after months of hyping this up. I'm bummed we couldnt get one of the Big 3 or BTJ. Let's see how it works out.

Just to be clear taking an OT and OG in round 6 and 7 is not adding playmakers for Allen
Which "playmakers" did you want at 219 and 221 overall?
And just for comparison, Andy Isabella - who is already on the roster, was a 2019 2nd round pick and ran a 4.31 40.

When youre normally solid kicker falls apart I always wonder about the holder. Boroquez was a good punter but terrible holder and that is the reason he isnt in the league anymore.
Could be holder, for sure. There was also some classic McD tomfoolery in decision making that seemed like it could have affected his confidence. Deciding not to kick the FG in certain situations when it seemed obvious, then putting him out there for ridiculous long shots.

Hyde was much more of a ball hawk than Cole is. Cole only had 3 INT’s in college.
Fair but I dont think that stat tells the whole story. Doesnt mean he cant become a ball hawk in the right system with the right opportunity. And he should get both with the Bills. He has the body type and range for it.

I actually liked the safety pick. Granted, I know nothing about college players, but he sounds like a young Poyer that can cover TEs well. If he is indeed a young Poyer than it was a great pick IMO.
Even better, young Hyde that hits better.
We have 2 Poyer replacements on the roster already with Rapp and Edwards.

It's a little amusing to think we came into this draft hoping to use our extra late round picks + the 1st to move up a bit.
Instead, we ended up leaving without a 1st rounder at all, and came out with 9 picks instead of the 10 we started with 😅
I do wonder if we were making calls to get up to get BTJ before the Jags. I think that would have been the only trade-up chance for us.

I think your discounting how good I am at Super Tecmo Bowl, *I* know football...
Always take the Raiders, pitch it to Bo, then zig-zag your way to a TD. Why doesnt Beane know this?

Oh he was a former tight end, oh he must be the second coming of Peters.
So youre saying he could convert to WR?!?!?

I agree. If he doesn't have a trade lined up, then his WR evaluation ability flat sucks beyond round 1.
After the Diggs trade, Beane's quote was "We'll look in the Draft and in Free Agency, and maybe 1 from each"
He did NOT say "It's a great draft to need a WR so we might take a couple".
He told everyone exactly what the plan was, and people didnt listen/didnt believe him because they were too busy in their armchair GM fantasy and falling in love with highlight reels.
We'll add another before camp starts.

Another small, fast guy for Tua to not hit if he needs to make a 2nd read. Is how that sentence ends.

I am honestly shocked that they haven't take a CB to this point. To me its one of the weakest position groups we have left when it comes to depth if anyone gets hurt.
Agreed on the need, but they work magic with those 6th and 7th round CBs.

I mean this was considered one of the deepest WR drafts ever, so yes I hoped we would use that opportunity to double dip. I am still very much against the safety and RB picks where we made them but it is what it is.
If it's announced that we're trading for Aiyuk post-6/1 I won't have any complaints though. Adding a player of his caliber AND a 1st round (close enough) WR in the same offseason would be the smartest thing Beane has done since drafting Allen.
I wont argue the RB pick because no one can argue for RBs in the NFL, although it was a roster need with Harris and Murray gone.
Safety was an absolute huge need since we had no one for Hyde's role, and Bishop will be very good there.
Dont get me wrong, had they snagged Franklin or Tez in the mid rounds I wouldve been very happy too. Just not how it worked out.

I used comparable skill sets to make it an easier read, but you can just look at it as we lost 4 WRs this offseason and have only added 3. We are -1 on the roster. Something has to be coming. If it's a post-6/1 vet trade I'm good with that, possibly great with that depending on the player. Ideally Aiyuk, if not him ideally Deebo, if not them I guess Courtland Sutton as a baseline #2 outside WR isn't too bad. Maybe there's some other name no one is talking about. But a starting caliber addition simply has to be made.
Sure and that's why I said the Double Down in the DRAFT was a pipe dream.
We definitely need to add another, but it will be a vet. Not a draft pick. And was always going to be the case with our Defensive needs from the draft.

Fair enough but we would be screwed if that's the case. I'd accept some vets for depth/st
I mean, I dont want to fall into the trap of your first post, but Benford, Dane Jackson, Poyer (7th round), and Hyde (5th round), all say otherwise.

Samuel replaces Diggs.
Agreed, and I think people are missing that.
Our outside guys will be Samuel and Coleman. Shakir in the slot. Kincaid as the wild card (and really our #2 target). Knox and Cook to supplement.

Not when you say "enjoy our season of mediocrity".
Bills fans spoiled and on our way to becoming Pats fans when 11-6/12-5 and the Division is "mediocre"

But we pretty clearly are missing a WR on the roster right now. Coleman replaces Davis, Samuel replaces Harty, Hollins replaces Sherfield. There's one glaring replacement still missing. And I'm not saying I expect any rookie WR we add to match Diggs, but objectively there is a gaping hole on the roster there.
I think youre being to detailed in trying to plug guys into other guys (not that there is anything wrong with that)
Like I said upthread, I think we adjust the Offense back to what was more successful under Dabol, and that is spreading the ball around instead of forcing it to just 1 or 2 main guys (where 1 of those "holes" is).
Coleman
Samuel
Shakir
Kincaid
Knox
Cook
Another WR will be our... 7th option? 6th at best? How many are lining up each play? No more than 4-5.
And that isnt counting the amount of running plays we need to run either. Also not counting Hollins, Shorter, or even Isabella.
I wouldnt call it gaping, other than missing Diggs' talent.
I'm sure we'll bring in a vet after guys get cut. That's all we really need at this point. Doesnt have to come from the draft.

I expect we'll be in contention for the division, but the offseason moves and our draft is being played face-up. We're in no way trying to win a championship this year. I'm actually ok with that as long as there's a solid medium term vision. That's the part I have concerns about, especially if it includes McDermott, which it almost certainly does. I don't have any faith in our coaching on either side of the ball.
We try to win a Championship every year. Otherwise why show up at all?
I think what you and others are trying to say is, we arent going "ALL IN" to win a Championship this year.
