  1. Shaq Lawson was a consensus All-American, and double-digit sack starter on a Clemson team that played for the National Championship, which got him drafted in the 1st round. Both AJ and Boogie are late 2nd round picks from small programs that couldnt even win their conferences. Shaq disappointed a bit in the beginning of his career here, but he should absolutely be far more talented than either of the other two.
  2. My take is, when I'm down to my DE4, I want someone I can count on even if they arent the most talented. I need steady and consistent over boom/bust like AJ and Boogie. We know what Shaq is... and that's exactly why I like him.
  3. Every SB Champ team has a large number of average players behind their stars. No one is saying Lawson should start. We're talking about DE4 or DE5 here. So yeah, Lawson should get a lot of love for that level of position. He'd be one of the best DE4s in the league. And while I like Epenesa and hope for the best for Basham, as of today, Lawson is a better, more well rounded option than either of them. As a matter of fact, I'd say Lawson is practically a combination of both of those players. Can set the edge unlike Epenesa, and can chase down guys in the backfield unlike Basham.
  4. I dont have the data or old post handy, but I could swear someone went back and looked at how Carolina's DL worked when McD was DC, and IIRC they found he started similarly with a heavy rotation. But as the team was built out and they got guys in place, for example in 2016 when they went to SB50, he rotated far less. I think DTs will always need to rotate. Big guys doing a LOT of work. But the DEs could find more time if they produce with more consistency (Rousseau).
  5. Sarcasm? We literally signed the pass rusher that won SB50 for the Broncos, and was given the SB MVP trophy, over our current HC's team.
  6. Most of these dudes are happy to not sign and not have to go through OTAs and camp, and wait until a team is desperate right before the season to sign and walk right onto the field. Good job by Beane to get Floyd under contract so early.
  7. I'd keep Lawson over Basham.
  8. Liked this player since his UGA days, and should still have something left in the tank. Good signing to shore up the DL while we wait for Vin to return.
  9. Here are the OBJ details. 1yr/$15M, but spread out over 5 years for a cap hit of ~$3M/yr I'd bet Hopkins will get more since he has been healthy and playing, and probably more than 1 year, but it will be structured with void years as well.
  10. It would help to include the OBJ contract details in the first post so we know what we're comparing.
  11. It's just depth-of-the-offseason lols yall
  12. It is amazing for all the (deserved) hype that class had. Although I also wonder how much the Browns, Jets, and Cardinals orgs were responsible for that vs the individual players. Those are arguably the 3 worst managed franchises in the league, and all of them saw constant churn and upheaval on their coaching staffs. I'd be interested in seeing how it played out if, for example, Baker ended up going to the Ravens who are on the opposite end of that spectrum as one of the best managed orgs in the league. I was never a Baker believer, still not. But seeing Cleveland do him so dirty made me pull for him a little more. It was fun watching him step in and win that Rams game last year. I dont really care what he does from here.
  13. Juuust a bit outside.
  14. I mean, this is literally one of the best things about being a TSW member. The board usually (always?) has a tailgate going at Hammer's lot.
  15. As an All-Things-Boston Hater, I really loved tuning into Chuck's postgame takes for most of this series. He really laid into the Celtics (rightfully so). My favorite was last week when Miami took a 3-0 lead, postgame they had Gabe Vincent on and he gave the usual humble platitudes of "Boston is a well-coached team that's never out of it". Chuck interrupted him and said "A WELL COACHED TEAM THAT'S NEVER OUT OF IT?? Go watch the tape from tonight!" I was dying.
  16. I dont have any strong allegiances, but am partial to Jimmy Buckets and the Heat. A little worried about all the underdog success the Heat and Panthers are having, and what that means for the Dolphins this year, since this stuff tends to pour when it rains.
  17. I'm checking right now and now that you read this you cant unknow it, and we're kinda doing this together.
  18. It's the offseason and I was bored so... it killed 5min of my day.
  19. How does he look compared to other starting LTs in practice gear?
  20. Not at all. That isnt even close to the topic you and @NewEra were discussing. Come back on track. The discussion was on chemistry, and keeping OLs together, and that it is difficult to do in modern times. YOU even started the topic when you said "Chemistry as a single unit with the same guys in the same spot however is an undervalued thing among fans." And then you said, verbatim, "other teams do it routinely, at least a bunch and our biggest competitors". And no they dont. Please dont make me recap an entire conversation for you again, when you can go back and read your own posts yourself.
  21. I mean this is such an inaccurate statement, and so obviously biased against the Bills with no perspective on what other teams are actually doing and going through, that it completely invalidates any other point you may be making. KC loses and flips guys constantly. They just lost their OT and replaced him with a lower graded player. Cincy is STILL trying to build an OL, and just stole said KC OT. Which is about to lose them their other OT. Philly just lost OT Andre Dillard AND OG Isaac Seumalo The list goes on. There is a huge dearth of OL talent available. Beane could do better to focus on it, but almost every team is feeling that pain.
  22. Thought I read somewhere that Torrence doesnt fair well at LG. Like, they tried him there a couple snaps at the Senior Bowl and then moved him right back to RG where he belonged.
  23. I've been patient with McD's rookie treatment in previous years, because the different iterations of the team allowed it. Enough is enough tho for where we are in the team building phase of McBeane's plan. We have high-paid, homegrown stars. It's to the point we need at least the first 2 round rookies to step in and play a role right away. If Torrence isn't in the starting unit Week 1, it was a major botch by Beane. There were OGs available in this draft that should absolutely be Day 1 starters.
  24. Fans treat the entire org, and the last 5 years, like we've played every game like that last Cincy game. When the truth is, we are still a top 3-5 team in the league with one of the best rosters. Maybe not THE best roster, but certainly up there. Bills Mafia has lost all perspective.
  25. There's a huge FUD meltdown going on right now regarding Ledger wallets and their latest feature. I think that fake post was just trying to capitalize on it.
