It would be a very 2000s Bengals thing to do to ride out a "culture" HC who is good enough to win regular season games but can never get it done in the playoffs with a top-3 roster. Him taking over DC was step one to saving his job. He is, and should be, on a short leash right now. Regular season wins are great, but the debacle in KC 2 years ago was inexcusable, football 101, and the team meltdown across the 2nd half of the season last year was all on the coaches as well. I'm not gathering the pitchforks or lighting the torches yet, but any good owner would have a close eye on McD this year.

Technically correct. But there is an argument to be made that the Bills made the same mistake the Falcons did in retaining Quinn and letting Shanahan walk. It would have been a major coup, and not sure how the franchise would have weathered it. But after 13 seconds, firing McD and promoting Daboll is an interesting discussion.

That's how you want to interpret it. I think any coach would say their #1WR, Captain, and star player missing 1 day of practice is "very concerning". But really, to what extent? There is a TON of room on that spectrum. From mild coach-speak to hysterical panicking. Unfortunately, most fans choose hysterical panicking since they have nothing better to do.

Again, it's not about his own stats, or his money. That is all fine. What he was seemingly upset about was that when the Offense is sputtering, we can usually get it on track by going to Diggs a few times for some reliable, short gains (6-14 yards). But when we were in that situation multiple times last year, Dorsey and Josh all but completely ignored him. He is fine with winning and not getting any touches. He is ok with losing and the team giving their best effort. He is NOT fine with the team losing, looking flat and confused, and the coaches actively ignoring one of their biggest stat players.
