  1. I mean, if I had a contract that would pay me over $10M just for showing up, I'm showing up until they lock me out. He only has a couple years left either way. I wouldnt blame him for forcing their hand.
  2. It's on Dorsey to call plays and scheme to open up that short game, or if the Defense is selling out on stopping that - finding what they are leaving open and exploiting it. If that is running Josh, then mount up.
  3. The dink and dunk approach is when our Offense looks dominant as against Raiders/WFT/Dolphins. Get the ball out quick to open guys underneath and let them go for 5-10 yards. Maybe they break one, but you keep the chains moving either way. The old Patriot way. Where the problems come in is when we go to "the Dorsey Special" which is "if the Defense shows a certain look, then go deep". And that usually results in deep miss, deep drop, sack, punt. Maybe an INT in there that everyone excuses as a punt. Wonderful.
  4. Cutting White is going to be the most difficult thing McBeane has done throughout their entire tenure. But it's looking like it must happen. Or he can re-do his deal beyond a typical "restructure". Morse isnt a must go. But we save $8.5M by releasing him. That could be most of AJE right there. I'd rather have Bates/AJE than just Morse. JMO.
  5. What is our base/default identity as an offense? What do we do well every time that no one else can do or stop? What should we fall back on when the Offense needs a spark to get going? Answer: Run Josh. Running Josh tips the numbers game in our favor. The defense cant cover everyone AND Josh. When nothing else is working, running game is getting blown up, can't even get the ball to Diggs... Dorsey MUST simplify to our default and turn Josh loose. If for no other reason than to give the Defense something else to respect and think about in order to open it up for other guys. Call a couple of designed QB runs AND a couple of passes that clear out the underneath and let Josh run in space. After a couple of those plays the Defense wont know what's coming next.
  6. As @SCBills recently pointed out, we should be looking to cycle out of the Poyer, Hyde, White, Morse contracts next year. So we should be able to re-sign AJE, and we have a 5th year tag for Rousseau to kick that can down a ways. IMO, you re-sign all those guys. AJE, Rousseau, and Jonathan. Need to re-sign Jones too.
  7. He wasnt nearly this bad last year, as a rookie. I can't believe he'd somehow regress this early in his career. I'd say the worst 1st was Maybin.
  8. We'll win. We'll kill em. Classic McD. We'll crush the bad teams after no-showing against a decent team.
  9. DHop, Antonio Brown, heck Julian Edelman played until he was 35 and he took massive shots across the middle. Larry Fitzgerald. Chad Johnson. AJ Green and Julio Jones slowed down a bit but both played until ~34. Diggs as a route specialist will be able to last in this league, especially since he's smart about not taking hits.
  10. With this signing Elam is officially a total bust.
  11. There is plenty of blame on Josh's decision making around here. But yeah, when the offense is running plays that are DOA at the snap, that tends to fall on the OC and not the players. When we're down 11-0 and need to get something going, and it's 2nd and 1 and we just need to move 3 feet forward to keep the drive alive, and Dorsey dials up a SHOTGUN PITCH to Cook, which starts by pitching the ball backwards 5 yards, and results in a loss of 6 yards, that's on Dorsey. Dumb, dumb playcalling.
  12. Cool chart. where can I plot ELEVEN FRICKIN POINTS?
  13. Congrats on your win yesterday then.
  14. Yeah, I think the last minute decision to throw it has resulted in a few "dropped" passes. I put dropped in quotes because it's tough to tell what is going on now. Josh starts to run, but then at the last second throws. The WRs are thinking "Do I need to start blocking? Am I adjusting my route because he's scrambling? Is he really going to throw the ball?" And before they even finish that thought the ball is unexpectedly on them. AND not in a great spot because Josh was unsure as well and then flicked a bad ball at the last second. It's just very disjointed and frenetic because of all this changing decisions. Tuck it and ***** run!
  15. Because he has completely stopped. Whether that has been coached out of him or what, you can say he is "afraid" to run (maybe doesnt want to get in trouble). It's not that he is afraid of contact.
  16. It's literally what we did the first 5 games of last year, and the last 3 games we played this year (LV, WFT, MIA). And then for some reason, whenever we get even a little rattled, we completely abandon it. Even when we are only down by 4 with plenty of time left. We can do it, we do do it. Which makes it even more frustrating when we out-think ourselves. And completely agreed on the scramble vs throwing. Just go get 5 yards and move the chains.
  17. Exactly, thank you. It went right back to the crap we were pulling at the end of last season. Predetermined low percentage deep balls.
  18. Because as you pointed out, Defenses can play us totally differently now. We've neutered our best weapon.
  19. Shouldnt have even been thrown to the chains on 2nd down. Call a play that can pick up 5-7 yards, Dorsey. Again, bad play calling, bad execution. Now you're in 3rd and 7-10, and what should be 4 down territory. No dump off on 3rd and 15 because we shouldnt have been in 3rd and 15.
  20. Of course. It isnt even your opinion. It's simple math. It ruins our numbers advantage. It used to be we were +1 on them and the D would have to decide to leave someone open and watch Josh, or let Josh run all over them as a free runner. Taking that away gave the JAx D a huge advantage yesterday.
  21. The score was 11-7. We didnt need to take big risks or make one big play. We took that penalty on 2nd down to make it 2nd and 15 and apparently decided that was enough to give up the drive. Because on 2nd down we went deep, and then on 3rd down we went deep. The old Dorsey special. Take low percentage deep shots then punt. Or apparently, take deep shots because they are as good as punts. Just gain your 5-7 yards on simple underneath plays and MOVE THE CHAINS. Heck, make it 4 down territory and just get 5 yards each play. Throwing the ball away to the other team on 3rd down isnt smart. It's an act of desperation that equates to giving up.
  22. Diggs is only 29 and just signed a 4 year extension. He's here for at least 3-4 more years.
  23. I "get" the comparison, but it's a weak excuse. Why are we giving up on 3rd down? Just get what you need to move the ***** chains and keep the drive alive. These 3rd down bomb "punts" are for losers. We gave them an INT and momentum, and they took that INT and marched right down the field for a TD.
  24. Of course but then the NFL doesnt get to have games on from 9am to 11pm. That's the whole point. 💰💰💰
