  1. I dont see an improvement over the guys we already have.
  2. Nah. Every time Josh or Stef show another example of how close they are I'm posting and bumping it because the very notion there was some big problem is ridiculous.
  3. "No comment" would be construed as saying "He was upset at me and I'm annoyed about it". Sticking up for his buddy who EVERYONE wants to bad-mouth is the right move.
  4. Equal amounts of cheating either way! Not to get too off topic, but now that NIL is legal this is SMU's time to shine! They just announced a move to the ACC, and the ACC was trying to negotiate TV money and not pay SMU, and SMU said "We dont need your TV money". They privately raised $100M in 7 DAYS! And the only reason it took that long was because it took 3-4 days for the booster checks to clear! They're aiming for $200M by the end of the month. https://footballscoop.com/news/smu-raises-100-million-in-a-week-after-acc-move
  5. I'm not saying it's smart, and I doubt the NFL would pass up any opportunity to make money. But I cant think of any other reason they HAVENT done it yet.
  6. That is true (and I hate that structure), but i think Bill meant McD has more sway with Terry than Beane. Remember, he hired McD first and then Beane on his recommendation.
  7. Why would you want this?
  8. I fully believe they are waiting for a Super Bowl before bringing back the 90s. And that's fine with me because nothing would be better than the home opener after a Super Bowl win and Josh and the boys come running out in the 90s unis to right the wrongs of our past.
  9. QBs get injured in the pocket all the time. And what if what the D is giving us is QB runs? Everyone else covered with no spy? Run the QB to force them into giving us something else.
  10. I mean, if I had a contract that would pay me over $10M just for showing up, I'm showing up until they lock me out. He only has a couple years left either way. I wouldnt blame him for forcing their hand.
  11. It's on Dorsey to call plays and scheme to open up that short game, or if the Defense is selling out on stopping that - finding what they are leaving open and exploiting it. If that is running Josh, then mount up.
  12. The dink and dunk approach is when our Offense looks dominant as against Raiders/WFT/Dolphins. Get the ball out quick to open guys underneath and let them go for 5-10 yards. Maybe they break one, but you keep the chains moving either way. The old Patriot way. Where the problems come in is when we go to "the Dorsey Special" which is "if the Defense shows a certain look, then go deep". And that usually results in deep miss, deep drop, sack, punt. Maybe an INT in there that everyone excuses as a punt. Wonderful.
  13. Cutting White is going to be the most difficult thing McBeane has done throughout their entire tenure. But it's looking like it must happen. Or he can re-do his deal beyond a typical "restructure". Morse isnt a must go. But we save $8.5M by releasing him. That could be most of AJE right there. I'd rather have Bates/AJE than just Morse. JMO.
  14. What is our base/default identity as an offense? What do we do well every time that no one else can do or stop? What should we fall back on when the Offense needs a spark to get going? Answer: Run Josh. Running Josh tips the numbers game in our favor. The defense cant cover everyone AND Josh. When nothing else is working, running game is getting blown up, can't even get the ball to Diggs... Dorsey MUST simplify to our default and turn Josh loose. If for no other reason than to give the Defense something else to respect and think about in order to open it up for other guys. Call a couple of designed QB runs AND a couple of passes that clear out the underneath and let Josh run in space. After a couple of those plays the Defense wont know what's coming next.
  15. As @SCBills recently pointed out, we should be looking to cycle out of the Poyer, Hyde, White, Morse contracts next year. So we should be able to re-sign AJE, and we have a 5th year tag for Rousseau to kick that can down a ways. IMO, you re-sign all those guys. AJE, Rousseau, and Jonathan. Need to re-sign Jones too.
  16. He wasnt nearly this bad last year, as a rookie. I can't believe he'd somehow regress this early in his career. I'd say the worst 1st was Maybin.
  17. We'll win. We'll kill em. Classic McD. We'll crush the bad teams after no-showing against a decent team.
  18. DHop, Antonio Brown, heck Julian Edelman played until he was 35 and he took massive shots across the middle. Larry Fitzgerald. Chad Johnson. AJ Green and Julio Jones slowed down a bit but both played until ~34. Diggs as a route specialist will be able to last in this league, especially since he's smart about not taking hits.
  19. With this signing Elam is officially a total bust.
  20. There is plenty of blame on Josh's decision making around here. But yeah, when the offense is running plays that are DOA at the snap, that tends to fall on the OC and not the players. When we're down 11-0 and need to get something going, and it's 2nd and 1 and we just need to move 3 feet forward to keep the drive alive, and Dorsey dials up a SHOTGUN PITCH to Cook, which starts by pitching the ball backwards 5 yards, and results in a loss of 6 yards, that's on Dorsey. Dumb, dumb playcalling.
  21. Cool chart. where can I plot ELEVEN FRICKIN POINTS?
