  1. How is anything on this even being debated still when Albright immediately said this was all made up opinion in response to a hypothetical question? Some fans really got a hard on for hating one of our best players, eh?
  2. Shouldnt be any need to because any fan with half a brain should be able to see this for what it is.
  3. I think this is just Denver fans getting us back for all the Jeudy speculation from March/April.
  4. Sure, we could all come up with ridiculous scenarios that would fit within "under the right circumstance". And it would likely have to be one of those ridiculous, not-happening scenarios. @MJS posted a good one on the previous page. 10 1sts and Mahomes would probably get it done. Maybe even just the 10 1sts. Likely tho?
  5. I mean, pretty much everything/everyone is available to trade "under the right circumstances". Except maybe Josh. But yes, as the old business saying goes, "Everything is for sale at the right price". It's not on the players to address every stupid rumor that the talking heads come up with in order to generate clicks in June. Fans should be smarter, but...
  6. I think the difference through all of the Reid/Philly/KC stuff is: in Philly he never had a true star QB. And in KC, it was more of the same middling success with the likes of Alex Smith. It wasnt until Reid got Mahomes that he started winning big consistently. At least he's winning like he's supposed to. But McD has a Mahomes. He isnt stuck with a McNabb/Smith. So not winning big consistently falls squarely on the coaching here imo.
  7. I dont necessarily think the SB victory was automatic, but I do see that year as our easiest shot so far and possibly ever. Not saying we can't win one, but it will likely be tougher than 2021 Bills vs 2021 Bengals-Rams. Probably easier than during those drought years! I doubt a Bill Cowher is passing the buck to a Chan Gailey on an opportunity to be a part of this team.
  8. Great point with the timing. Although he didnt need to agree to any restructure. But playing along with the story that he somehow had a conversation with Beane at the time of the restructure... that was in March, we're assuming Diggs made it known he wants other pass catchers to take the heat off. The Bills then use their 1st pick on a pass catcher, and their 2nd pick on protecting Josh. So what could he be mad about? Seems more and more like his beef is what some of us have been saying all along: When the going gets tough, and the offense needs a spark, Dorsey and Josh should know to go to Diggs. Not call/throw 3 deep, low percentage passes outside to Davis. Pretty simple.
  9. This is a very interesting ask/scenario. I certainly understand your viewpoint. A guaranteed Super Bowl championship is tough to deny or walk away from. Especially for our franchise and fanbase. Guaranteed 1 Super Bowl, but followed by 10 years of no playoffs. That Super Bowl would be so sweet, I'd probably not even watch the season after and could coast on that victory for years. But... Wasting the second half of Josh's career would be tough to sign up for tho. Do we think Josh/Bills would win a Super Bowl regardless and maybe even TWO? Kinda a one in the hand vs two in the bush type thing...
  10. Cowherd has never, NEVER been on the Bills. He has always hated the team because he hates small market franchises. Among plenty of other reasons he doesnt like our team. Go back to ignoring him. He has like 2 decent takes across ALL of his sports opinions, and both have to do with how stupid most Sports Radio Callers are.
  11. What makes you think he even had the chance? Beane decides to convert. Pegula makes sure he has the cash on hand. The Bills business office cuts a check, or direct deposit/ACH, or however the players get paid. End of story. Also, would an NFL GM, who all keep their cards close to their vest because they have multiple irons in the fire on different deals, give a player a bunch of inside info on the teams' plans, so the player can go leak it in a tweet without thinking? What does that conversation even look like in your head? edit: Dont get me wrong, I could understand that Diggs might be frustrated with the lack of WR talent brought in to help him. But I dont think he was made any promises, or even had much of a discussion, when he was restructured.
  12. That's a good point. Likely paying all NYS tax on the bonus. But with only 1 florida game this year, I'd expect the interest I could make over the 8 months would make that 1/17th no taxed amount back pretty easily. Now, if you played for Miami, you would WANT the bonus instead of paying taxes for playing against the Bills, Jets, etc. Or if you are talking about the withholding being different (40%), that is more an HR policy than a hard rule to protect recipients from owing unexpected tax amounts. So likely not being withheld like that in these cases since the pay and structure and even employment are all so different. Bonuses arent ultimately taxed any differently than regular income. Its just the way your employer withholds it.
  13. And as anyone with that much financial literacy and responsibility would tell you: GET THAT SALARY CONVERTED TO BONUS! He's cashed all the checks, he just supposedly hasnt spent any of that money yet. It's a nice story and I bet partially true, but he didnt just walk into endorsement deals his rookie season. I bet SOME football money has been spent (but would agree very little). But he would concur to get it all upfront as bonus instead of salary. Marshawn Lynch has said that same thing. He has all his football money untouched and only spent outside money. 🤷‍♂️ Must be nice to be rich.
  14. I mean that makes no sense. If you are set to make $16M this year, would you want it all right now and get to invest it all now and start earning interest for the rest of the year? Or would you say "no thanks, wait until September and then pay me $1M/week, and if I get injured than I'll lose money on an injury settlement, and I dont need the roughly $500k I couldve earned in extra interest between May and Decemeber" Like why? Why wouldnt anyone take all their money as soon as possible?
  15. The bold isnt accurate. They both report directly to Pegula. Dont invalidate your other points by fudging the truth.
  16. That's not how restructures work tho. In the restructures that convert salary to bonus, the team can do it automatically without player permission since it is benefiting the player. It puts their entire season's salary in their pocket in May. They promised him nothing when they cut him the check.
  17. I'm not one to give McD a pass, but it's a tough spot for HCs. You either fire your guys and then people say you scapegoated them. Or you refuse to adjust your staff and then EVERYONE gets fired by the owner, like Wade (and maybe Mularkey, and a lot of other NFL coaches). Thanks for clarifying. It didnt even seem like he understood how big/crazy of a story he was breaking. Probably just diarrhea of the mouth and Lombardi saying stuff without thinking.
  18. Bummed he's not a Bill, but... it's still McCorkle.
  19. Close coworker is a 49ers fan and always follows/supports the Bills, so I guess they're my NFC team. No rivalry of any kind there, and we barely ever play them, so it all works out.
  20. It's really ***** that after years of great info and insight from an AP reporter, some newbs/BBMBers have to come in and proactively attack John until he leaves. Congrats newbs, you have achieved your goal of being another ####### on the internet. Just a heads up, to us observers it just looks like you have such little respect in your own life you need to attack others who might actually know more. It's a shame, because unlike most of the internet, TBD isnt an anonymous hiding spot. So many posters know each other IRL and hang out for Bills games and even other personal events. Really killing the vibe that has been established over the past 20 years.
  21. Official Apology Form. Relevant to a lot of posters in the first 30 pages or so.
  22. Augie mentioned Whitehall so theyre already coming to our turf. We'll save you guys a spot at the front table!
