Bills release first official depth chart of 2023
DrDawkinstein replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I never understood all the Spector love here. Is it because he came out of a big program? He's never stood out on the field to me, even when he was at Clemson. He always seemed like an AJ Klein replacement, at best. -
Bills release first official depth chart of 2023
DrDawkinstein replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm trying to not dive too deep into this since it's just the FIRST depth chart of the season in preparation for the FIRST preseason game (whatever that is worth). Biggest jump outs to me: 1. Bates over Torrence, but not too surprising. 2. The battle at WR3 3. Bernard in there at MLB 4. CB2... Cmon, Elam. Time to step up and lock it down. -
To Have, and To Have Not: a Midwestern Tale
DrDawkinstein replied to Beck Water's topic in Off the Wall
We plan on getting one. My quotes were both around $10k for the Generac generator and install. So it can wait right now. I'm sitting here without power since 5pm yesterday. ERT 5pm today. Second 24hr outage we've had this summer. Going to Harbor Freight and getting this guy today. Will be good enough until we pull the trigger on the Generac. Or if it's good enough, save me $9k. -
This is a game that he DID take a lot of the underneath stuff. He was doing that for the first 5-6 weeks. We were rolling. Then is stopped at/after the Green Bay game, and before his elbow injury. I still think it's because Defenses figured out how to bait Dorsey/Josh into making a read on their alignment that says "When you see this, throw it deep".

Well it kind is. Like the old saying goes "anyone with half a brain can make any statistic say anything they want". Also, the ol "lies, damned lies, and statistics". But I do appreciate OPs efforts.

Josh Allen goes #1 overall to the Browns in a 2018 Redraft
DrDawkinstein replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
By "through that time" I meant the time when Bruce/Reed/Rice were playing and we were going to Super Bowls. Not 1980-1985. Your point that we found a HoFer in Reed a few rounds after drafting Smith #1 just furthers my point. -

Jerry Rice may be a GOAT, but our Bills had pretty good WRs through that time. The subtraction of Bruce is a bigger loss to the team than what they would gain in Rice, imo. Smith goes #1 in a re-draft. At least in my world. -

1. Cleveland Browns Original pick: Baker Mayfield, QB Reid's new pick: Josh Allen, QB It was widely known that the Browns would select a quarterback at the top of the 2018 draft, but which one they would select remained a mystery until NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the team was on the clock. Cleveland originally selected Mayfield, but we right its wrong in this re-draft and selected the best QB of the class in Allen. He leads all 2018 signal-callers in career passing yards (18,397), and his 65 QBR since his rookie season ranks fourth among all NFL quarterbacks. (Mayfield is now on his fourth team, and his 61.4% completion percentage since being drafted is 39th in the league.) And our 2 picks... 12. Buffalo Bills (from CIN) Original pick: Vita Vea, DT (TB traded down) Miller's new pick: Bradley Chubb, LB Sorry, Buffalo, you don't get Josh Allen in this re-draft. But you're still walking away with a cornerstone player in Chubb. The Bills' pass rush has been a glaring issue since coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane took over, and the 6-foot-4, 275-pound Chubb has 28.5 career sacks. He would immediately boost the unit. 22. Buffalo Bills (from KC) Original pick: Rashaan Evans, LB (TEN traded up) Miller's new pick: Harold Landry III, LB We had the Bills grab a powerful pass-rusher in Bradley Chubb at No. 12 overall, and they now have a chance to build a superstar group with stand-up pass-rusher Landry on the other side. His 31 career sacks and ability to play in space fit as both a need and great value at this spot with no top quarterbacks or cornerbacks left on the board. -
Outside of MLB, Where are the Bills Worse in 2023?
DrDawkinstein replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd nominate the Secondary as a possible answer to OPs question. If for no other reason than Hyde and Poyer being on the wrong side of 30 and coming off major injuries. Father Time is undefeated, and if either or both of them lose even a step, it will be a step back. -
The only clip from the podcast you need to see. Our starting QB, everyone. GOT EM!

HC/QB combo the Bills are #8. (Colin Cowherd clickbait)
DrDawkinstein replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great point on OConnell and Cousins. I dont think they're great but they did pretty well last year and certainly deserve to be in the top 10 over Payton/Wilson. I think #2 is the hardest spot to decide on. I guess I'd stay with the Rams because of McVay and what Stafford was. 1. Reid/Mahomes 2. McVay/Stafford 3. Taylor/Burrow 4. Siriani/Hurts 5. McD/Allen 6. OConnell/Cousins 7. Harbaugh/Jackson 8. Pederson/Lawrence 9. McCarthy/Prescott ... Then it's tough because you have some great coaches with bad QBs (Belichick, Shanahan, Carroll) and good QBs with meh coaches (Rodgers, Herbert). I'm obviously not a McDaniel/Tua fan. Might give 10 to Campbell/Goff just to get myself clicks, haha. Tomlin/Pickett is one to watch but the kid aint there yet. Dont even bother with any part of the NFC South. -

I didnt click, but the big board is visible in the youtube preview in the first post. 1. Reid/Mahomes 2. McVay/Stafford 3. Payton/Wilson 4. Pederson/Lawrence 5. Harbaugh/Jackson 6. Burrow 7. Hurts 8. McD/Allen 9. Dallas 10. Miami my naming convention went out the window because i got sick of typing and thinking of names. dont @ me. 😜 -

Oh absolutely it is the coach that drops us to 8, and also the HCs in 3, 4, and 5 that have them that high. Josh is a top-3 QB. To be listed here at 8 only means one thing. And I think that's fair given McD's performance. -

I have issues with numbers 3 and 4, but everything else seems fair. -
Finished the season last night. All in all, great show. Loved the deep behind the scenes looks and access the players gave this show. Loved that, thanks to having Josh, I'm able to get back to being a fan of football again and not so bitter as I was through the drought. That all said, it was also a bit discouraging to see the level that the Chiefs operate at. With Reid as their HC, and offensive mastermind, it's obvious they are a step above everyone else. Even us and Cinci, who can play them hard and beat them. It's still the Chiefs' conference for the forseeable future. Doesnt mean we wont get our shot, but it means we need to be PERFECT to pull it off. And I'm not sure our coaches can get us there. We'll see. I'm not trying to be a chicken little, it was just a bit of an eye opener. Some jealousy mixed in there as well. One last observation, speaking of the Chiefs. So many coaches got so much facetime on this show. We saw a bunch of Reid and Matt Nagy in-game comments on the sideline, a ton from the Trainers as well. But through all 8 episodes almost NOTHING from Eric Bieniemy. It wasnt until Episode 8 that he got a couple of appearances, and even those were light/weak. I dont know what that means exactly, but it was noticeable. Nagy seemed much more like the OC than Bieniemy.

This is a bummer, especially given everything she's gone through in her life. Hopefully now she can find peace.

This is exactly what he shouldve said, and what I believe he meant to say, but boy did he miss the mark. And that short answer is exactly what caused the media and our own chicken littles to blow up.

Giants and Barkley agree on a 1-year 11M deal

To that point, Daniel Jones touched the ball on 1089 plays last season. Barkley had 295. After Jones handed him the ball.
