Officials allowed the Chiefs to cheat the entire game

This is the most maddening part. Dude never gets set, that should be a penalty right there. All that twitching and rocking... such complete bull####. -
There is way more to the position than just sacks. I merely started with the most recent leaders list to get an idea of who is there. Burns also lead the league in Pressures. He had a handful of Passes Defended, and TFLs... https://thedraftnetwork.com/brian-burns-carolina-panthers-2022-season/amp/ When we start seeing blurbs like that about Groot, I will be very happy.

I didnt forget about Garrett and the Bosas. I assumed that's who you meant when you said "3 monsters" picked in the top of the draft. Outside of them, everyone else in the Top 10, really Top 15, are all later picks. Most not even 1st rounders. There's plenty of opinion and some consensus on Crosby and Burns being elite. Burns was the original ask when the Bears were trading with Carolina, and they would rather give up DJ Moore. Crosby is a total package. Check these out: https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2022/12/2/23489327/nfl-best-edge-rushers-maxx-crosby-brian-burns-bengals-raiders https://www.si.com/nfl/raiders/news/las-vegas-raiders-maxx-crosby-pff-nick-bosa-micah-parsons-myles-garrett I do hope Groot can develop and get there some day. And he has definitely been solid and on the right track. But havent seen him make any of those big splash, game-changing, get a sack at the most important time, plays.

Will the opener be blacked out by Spectrum and espy
DrDawkinstein replied to Liberal Bob's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm in Product at one of the large cable companies and you absolutely nailed our future. Video is dying, Voice is dying, all of the business services are declining. They're complicated and expensive to run, support, and upgrade. But we do Internet really well. The writing is already on the wall that we will be looking to offload our over the top services to 3rd party providers and just focus on increasing speeds on HFC and dropping more fiber. Go back to simply being a transport company and get paid residuals buy the 3rd party companies we refer customers to. We already know HFC (coax cable) is looked at as the new DSL. People dont want coax anymore, they want fiber. Even if they dont need it, because speeds and quality are actually really good on coax nowadays as protocols evolve. But whether it's coax or fiber, your point still stands. Cable companies will soon (10 years) be merely ISPs. -
I'll do another sweep of the attic today, but I'm assuming the little bugger figured out a way to shimmy back down another down spout and got out of there. 🤞

Officials allowed the Chiefs to cheat the entire game
DrDawkinstein replied to Gisele's topic in The Stadium Wall
Before the game, someone said "The Lions will need to win by 10 points in order to win by 1 point" and that is exactly what happened. -
So last night I'm chilling on the couch, reveling in the post-game glow of the Chiefs losing on national TV, when I hear this banging around on our side porch. (It's about 1am now) I go out there and see the tail-end of a raccoon shimmying up our downspout and onto the roof. He gives me a hiss when I yell at him and scampers up the roof. Now, we have no trees near the roof, no other structure nearby to jump to, no holes in the roof and no raccoons in the attic. He's not in the chimney... Where'd that raccoon go?

I pick up way better channels over the air than they provide on cable. AND over the air is true 1080p HD, far higher quality than what you get on cable. We get 115 channels. Most of them garbage, but can say the same for cable. I whittle it down to about 20 really good channels. And it's free. The "COMET TV" channel is worth it alone. -
Officials allowed the Chiefs to cheat the entire game
DrDawkinstein replied to Gisele's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was so happy football was back, and then the refs reminded me how pathetic the NFL really is. When was the last time you heard EVERYONE in the booth calling out the Chiefs and the Refs for blatantly cheating? Even TERRY MCAULAY was calling them out like "I dont know what they're doing down on that field?!?" Allowing Taylor to CHEAT (early start, misaligned, holding, tripping...) all night because they knew Hutchinson would otherwise eat his lunch and kill the Golden Boy. I do appreciate them finally calling it on 4th and 20 to end the game, and agree Taylor was tipping plays all night. But they should never have been in that position in the first place. Great game except for the refs. Typical NFL. Blaming the Lions for the Chiefs cheating is a definite Collinsworth move. -
They were way worse than Gabe. My favorite comment I saw: "Toney beating the Eagles in the Super Bowl and then immediately turning into the worst player on the planet was every Giants fan's dream come true"
-
Depending how the link works, he's on at 2hr43min. Swear there was a thread on this earlier but now cant find it. Highlights: If a Bildo gets on the field, Gabe Davis says he'll stick it to his helmet. Stef trash talking DBs and saying if he switched to Corner he would be top-5 in the league! Dorsey's Miami Booth Freak Out: Diggs and the players love to see it.

I'll give you Highsmith and Judon for the sake of argument. But I do think Reddick is a monster. I was hoping we'd be able to get him in FA last year, even over Von.
-
TJ Watt, Hassan Reddick was a 2nd, Matthew Judon was a 5th, Maxx Crosby was a 4th, Alex Highsmith was a 3rd, Brian Burns was pick 16, Micah Parsons was pick 12 Outside of the Bosa's that's pretty much the entire top 10 sack leaders list. I would consider them all "monsters", certainly home run draft picks. None in the top 10 of the draft.

If it's a shootout decided by a coin flip, then I'd definitely argue removing one team's All Pro Center and putting him on the other team that has zero All Pro, or even Pro Bowl players, would absolutely affect the outcome. One more Ed Oliver sack up the middle changes everything. No. Ultimately it's on Josh. I'm saying that I believe a lot of Josh's anxiety that caused the fumble was due to knowing his IOL was getting blown off the ball all day (all season), and that he'd have to get out quick. Morse is a softer, pass-protecting Center. And by the Vikings game last year he had a bad elbow and a bad ankle. I believe with the younger, healthy, stronger, road-grading Center, Josh feels more confident taking that snap and likely doesnt fumble.
-
Maybe not a 1:1 "guaranteed SB" results swap ,but I absolutely believe we improve enough to leapfrog them and get much better results. Creed Humprhey was starting at Center for them in the 13 seconds game. If he isnt starting for them, and instead playing for us, maybe even a single play goes differently. I also fully believe that with Humprhey, a young, strong, healthy (non-injured) road-grader, Josh gets that snap in the Vikings game and we go on to win. And that would change the entire course of last season. I'll also add that it's only your opinion that Center is not a premium position. Getting a guy who is now an All-Pro AND Super Bowl champ is a Premium no matter where he plays. Let alone the guy who is making the protection calls and getting your QB the ball every play. So yeah, swapping those draft classes absolutely changes our fortunes. With 2 glaring examples, and probably many more.

It's a ridiculous strawman because literally no one has said they suck. Not even @ScottLaw!

According to what it says in the ESPN app, it should be on ABC across the entire country. -
I definitely understand it gets way tougher when you're at the end of the round, and looking back at recent 1sts/2nds over the same time, the Chiefs didnt exactly hit any jackpots. One thing I did notice when looking back at their drafts is their willingness to trade those late 1sts for established players. Much like we did for Diggs. Their 2019 1st and 2020 2nd was part of the Frank Clark trade. Their 2021 1st was part of the Orlando Brown Jr trade. Maybe that's the trick if you are always picking in the end of the round?
-
I will say, with Cook, Kincaid, and Torrence all coming down the hopper, there is a chance Beane's home run average increases greatly.
-
Shaq Leonard, Fred Warner, DK Metcalf, and AJ Brown were all 2nd round picks. Creed Humphrey was available in the late 2nd and is a difference maker as the Center and leader of the OLine. Drafted by the Chiefs. Plenty of difference makers have been available to us in the late 1st and 2nd rounds. No one is expecting the big Top-10 type player where we pick, and it is tougher to find when picking late, but hot talent is there in the first 2 rounds, and we've consistently missed it.

So Bernard gets the Week 1 start. I wonder how far out Kirksey is from being able to play?...
