  1. Yeah I think the issue is being stuck paying even $11M to a guy who likely wont even be on the team next year, let alone $22.5M. If he was starting and serviceable, it wouldnt be so bad. But Raiders will be paying tens of millions of dollars next year to a bunch of guys who dont even show up to work at those offices anymore. Yikes.
  2. Shotgun dart. Shart. Sounds about right. From now on, I will call that play the Shart.
  3. I would think that the shotgun running successes have been Josh. He can GO right from the snap, no handoff hesitation, and has an extra blocker back there if there was a RB lined up. The passes from under center, I imagine, are largely play action, which has been successful for us all over the field. I'd love to see more QB shotgun runs and more play action passes down at the goal line. Still no to shotgun draws.
  4. They didnt do it on 3rd and 4th and Goal for the TD. But then they ran it later at midfield for a 1st down. I'd rather they use it to put up points, but what do I know.
  5. It's an injury guarantee. They owe him $11M guaranteed next year. If he were to get injured seriously this year, it would double to about $23M guaranteed next year. We've all seen their OLine. Benching him ensures he wont get injured and they are only on the hook for $11M. It's terribly structured and far too convoluted. Raiders have no idea what they are doing.
  6. Cover1's take
  7. @PaattMaann learning the hard way that only Sith speak in absolutes.
  8. I agree, we should ONLY stick to QB Rushes when we're down at the goal line.
  9. Sorry to hear, my man. It's definitely not easy. As others have said, it just takes time. Which also kinda stinks because after a few weeks, I caught myself feeling a little better or at least not thinking about it constantly, and thought to myself "well, at least I'm starting to get over it and feel better", but then immediately thought "wait, I dont WANT to feel better about it, I want my freaking dog back!". And then put myself right back in to the funk. Which was fine because I needed more time. So dont feel bad about feeling bad about it. Dogs arent here for a long time, theyre here for a good time. So remember the good times. Know that you gave her a great life, and she was totally grateful. And now she can rest easy, like dogs love to do.
  10. Are the Rams Beane's new Panthers?
  11. I can deal with the team signing guys I dont like based strictly on their on-field play. It's the off-field scumbags that are tough to get past.
  12. Not sure all those numbers are correct. Anyways, how about.... How many years into their tenure were each win? Andy Reid 1 in 6yrs, 2 in 10yrs Mike Tomlin 1 in 2yrs McVay 1 in 4yrs Pederson 1 in 2 yrs Harbaugh 1 in 4 yrs Carroll 1 in 3 yrs Based on those numbers, he's overdue. And 2021 was the sweet spot.
  13. How the F I miss that one! Good one.
  14. Edwards on the OL.
  15. Yes, but sometimes things dont always work out as planned. And Im not sure anyone would have ever made the argument that Ford was better than Joseph. But only one was willing to start playing in July
  16. Personally, I think it would be more fair to reduce it to the coaches with Super Bowl victories, since that is what we are talking about here: getting over the hump. Which still gives us 6, but swaps Pederson in for Shanny: Andy Reid Mike Tomlin Sean McVay Pederson John Harbaugh Pete Carroll All of them have been to the promised land, which is what we are after.
  17. Out of Douglas or Joseph, if I had to bet on one to play this week, it would be Joseph. Bonus if we can get both on the field.
  18. Funny, and I wouldnt put it past Davis, but the money says unlikely.
  19. "Takes two to tango" Sounds like Joseph has found his niche and a pretty sweet gig as a guy who gets signed in November, gets to skip camp and early season BS, only play 10 games, and still get paid millions of dollars. These guys probably werent champing at the bit to sign anywhere until they found a team that really needed them.
  20. Yeah, I'd rather have Floyd in there right now than Von.
  21. Other teams arent trying to poach Klein, Mancz, Fournette etc because they know those players will choose to stay where they already chose to sign as a FA. Plus, I'd bet there are a lot more feeler conversations happening than we ever know about. That is my and Mango's point. Kinda chicken or the egg at this point.
  22. It doesnt happen because teams dont try to poach guys they know will choose to stay. Not because players dont choose to stay.
  23. Most of the time they dont need to because it's worked out ahead of time before the new team "makes it official". They dont want to try to pluck someone just to get denied and they get egg on their face. So we never hear about the players that choose to stay. But it's pretty well assumed with these vets that get signed to the PS temporarily that they arent going anywhere else, or else they would have before. edit: best example I could find with some quick googling was Deshawn Williams of the Bengals in 2016. But even that wasnt found out until after the season when talking to the player. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/nfl/bengals/2016/05/11/cincinnati-bengals-deshawn-williams-2016-defensive-line/84227460/
  24. I'm just quoting this so it ends up on the next page as well. Great recap.
