  1. If Amazon would let him do it for the rest of this season and allow him to come back to his commentating job next season, I think he might be able to be talked into taking a 10 week assignment to come in and hang with the boys and write some poetry and get the mojo back. The boys need to figure out how to have fun again and Fitz can teach them that. I like it. It wont happen. Similar to my Fitz for HoF campaign. But I like the thought.
  2. I dont know. To me it almost looks like he simply wasnt smart/experienced enough to run most of Dabol's playbook, so he trimmed it down to what he did know and understand, and could kind of teach, and that left us with the "pop warner" scheme and play calling we've seen this year. Not sure he was trying to prove anything as much as he was just trying to keep his head above water.
  3. This is what these guys do for a living. Pretty much 24/7 for coaches. So you have to imagine those things have been seen, those discussions have been had, most of those things have already been tried. And either way, the Offense continues to decline. And so goes morale.
  4. I dont think it's an "attack" on Josh. It isnt unfair or unreasonable to say he needs to play better. I believe he said as much himself today. But he isnt the main problem. And even so, you can't fire Josh. That said, while Warner is making his "defense" of Dorsey, he is also saying things the entire time like "Now, I dont like this play here", "It's tough to run this play against this defense", "Not a good concept, I agree", "Not great options on this play", so... yeah. Yes, they are largely the same plays we ran against Miami, Washington, Vegas, Tampa, etc. That's the problem. Everyone knows what is coming now. Almost every clip Warner showed was extremely well covered. Because they knew exactly what was coming. Just like I did in my previous post.
  5. I'm 7min into a video called "In Defense of Dorsey" and so far all I've seen is a poorly organized unit trying to run poorly designed plays. Yes, Josh needs to play much better. But he's been getting no help.
  6. I actually meant the keystone!
  7. It worked on 1 play, we still lost the game. Against McCorkle. I dont want to hear about the Frazier days. It's far more than "a couple". We went from one extreme to the other. It's almost like McD is maliciously complying with the Frazier criticism and saying "oh you want to see some blitzes? Fine, I'll blitz every play!" Von isnt, but Floyd/Oliver/Rousseau/Epenesa all are. Put Joseph as the cornerstone in the middle and lets roll. Coach needs to figure it out before it's too late (spoiler alert: it's too late)
  8. Same thing we said about Mac Jones, wasnt it? How's this working out? Blitzing when you physically cant get home does nothing but give the QB an easy read and wide open WR.
  9. I dont fancy myself an Xs and Os guy. Especially on Offense. And especially with modern NFL Offenses. That said, over the past couple weeks I've watched: 1. the JT O'Sullivan breakdown of the Tampa game 2. the Cover1 breakdown of the Tampa game 3. a couple other Cover1 videos from this season Maybe 2-3 hours worth of watching unofficial videos of guys who are knowledgeable but still mostly guessing on what is happening on the field. From that alone, this past Monday Night, I was able to tell my wife exactly what play the Bills were running and exactly what routes the WRs would be running a number of times. And I dont know JACK SQUAT! Every DC has us figured out. Every defensive player should have us figured out. That alone is grounds for firing Ken Dorsey.
  10. Ehh, I'll admit to not focusing on him during the game, but the times I did notice him it wasnt for anything good. Mostly getting absolutely stonewalled or blown up when trying to blitz. McD should be canned for sending our smurf LBs on blitzes so much. I do hope he can develop over the next couple of years.
  11. Definitely correctable (to an extent), and it's on the OC to correct it not make it worse. They're all Super Bowl Winning Great, and that's the only great that matters. And what we want for Josh.
  12. When it's a couple players, that's on the players. When it is practically the entire team, that is on coaching. These guys all made the NFL. They know how to do the basics. Better than anyone who posts here. Better than even the best athlete you've ever personally known. The fact that they aren't means coaching has them demotivated and/or confused by asinine gameplans.
  13. Then what do you do if they are successful and end up the lead HC candidate for 2025? You firing McD then or just keep the OC carousel going? And if you are bringing in someone as OC, you are promoting someone who has likely never called plays before. Again. I'd rather make a hot OC our Head Coach since that is what will need to happen anyways.
  14. No, he can't and he can't technically. The HC and GM each separately report directly to Pegula. Terry is the only one who can fire the HC. He is the only one who can fire the GM. They are not tied together. Unless he fired McD and asked Beane "Do you want to go with your friend or keep your job?" and I'm almost 100% certain Beane would choose to keep his job.
  15. I know youre mostly joking, and his methods simply do not work with modern players anymore, but he would definitely have the guys ready for situational football like lining up for a field goal.
  16. Did you mean to quote me?
  17. It's tough to say what makes a good HC in the modern NFL where players are mainly Gen Z. I dont think any of us old timers would've thought Mike McDaniel would last a day in a classic football locker room. But players are eating up his style and message. Additionally, I'd even argue that at this level, players dont need as much coaching as they need schemers who will put them in positions to succeed and then GTFO of their way. The Head Coach is mainly handling game management stuff. If the Offense is hot and scoring points, the entire team will motivate itself. Our guys know how to catch, they know how to hold onto the ball, they know how to tackle. They must to make it this far. The reason they arent is because they dont believe in leadership.
  18. I'm not a betting man, and even I would bet big money that Pegula has already reached out to the same consulting service he used to find McDermott.
  19. Oh I wasnt saying it as a bad thing. Just that it wouldnt be the guys we know.
  20. It's not just people on this board. We've watched Bienemy be the hot HC candidate as the OC for the top team for years, and every year he does a number of interviews for HC, and every year the teams move on without even considering him. There's smoke there. I've never seen anyone criticize him on his offensive prowess and Xs and Os. It's usually only about his past issues (not quiiite as bad as your boy Cornelius, but still), and his general demeanor.
  21. If you bring in an outsider like Ben Johnson, you'll have to let him hire his own guys as Coordinators. Likely guys we've never even heard of. I was hoping for a move where McD fired not only Dorsey, but himself as DC, promoted Babbich, and went back to pure HC duties to try to salvage the season.
  22. I'm not a fan of absolutes either, but I will say there is NO WAY McVay would come to Buffalo. He'd just retire from coaching, stay in LA, and take $20M/year as a broadcaster.
  23. Funny enough, the best our offense has looked all year was the first week after Knox's injury (Tampa) where we used Davis as more of a WR/TE hybrid and got him in those short/underneath routes and ran Kincaid as a TE/WR hybrid at the same time as well. Practically NO real TEs. It isnt. Looking at his production and where he lands in the list, it's pretty fair and accurate. Plus, it's only year 1 of the new contract and it will only look better after another round of FA. Worth keeping around at that price even just as the blocking/red zone TE option. Plenty of other players that need to be cut to save money before we get to Knox.
  24. The good news is, as you point out, they are not both the same kind of "tight end".
