  1. Poyer is a $7.5M hit if he stays, or a $2M hit if cut, and we are strapped for cash. He's as good as gone. And should be. He's a shell back there this year, it will only be worse next year.
  2. We have him under contract next year either way. But yes, it would make a ton of sense to give him a couple more years and some guaranteed money, and drop that cap hit next year from $9M to maybe something closer to $5M.
  3. Sure, either or both. There was just more to type about the Tre situation. I do think re-signing Tre will push our CB pick back to the 4th or after. If it's just Dane, then I could see us looking for the better talent in the 3rd or even 2nd.
  4. Careful in this thread where a bunch of old men are over-analyzing her body to mention you loved her when she was... 14
  5. You nailed it. The only thing I'd add is I'm open to offering Tre a 3/$18M deal with like $12M guaranteed. If for no other reason than to save us drafting a CB early. We'll definitely need 3-4 new Safeties so I expect at least 2 drafted. Or we re-sign Dane and Tre, move Douglas into Hyde's spot, and draft a CB in the early-mid rounds. It will be real interesting to see what they do about the Defensive Backfield this offseason.
  6. Check out this weeks Cover1 Film Room video. They highlight his plays a bit. He isnt 100% his old self yet, but it was a major leap from what we've seen and he got a couple of good pressures in. There's at least one play he is directly responsible for the incompletion.
  7. I feel option 2 is a no-brainer because that's good value anywhere in the NFL. But since it'll be impossible to pull off, let him walk and take the comp pick.
  8. I'd think Douglas is most likely to eventually transition into Hyde's spot. But I dont think any of the CBs do. We'd need them to move next year, and we'd just be creating another hole. We need 2 starting Safeties and 1 CB for next year.
  9. Yeah, that is more along what I was thinking. It would be for someone they want to replace on ST. But I also dont think he ever sees the roster this year, so it wont matter anyways.
  10. Who else on the roster do you trust most when the game is on the line and we're getting the ball back to make the right decisions back there and field the ball cleanly? Our go-to when we needed a sure thing used to Hyde. Who is next man up if Harty is gone?
  11. But he's fairly reliable back there versus what we've seen from others. (I think he had 1 muff that he got back?) And Hyde can't do it anymore.
  12. Seems more like you want a legit deep threat speedster back, like John Brown, so Josh can hit that deep ball again.
  13. Who does more on Special Teams tho? And can Shorter play ST? Remember, with Taiwan Jones gone, we've shifted from carrying an extra "RB" special teamer to carrying an extra "WR" special teamer. So I'm not sure either of them lose their spot to Shorter.
  14. While I still stand by the general thoughts in my post, I'll say that I currently do not want Rapp anywhere near our Defense. Dude is a loose cannon and is more dangerous to our own Defense than he is to the opposition. I like his age and agility, and he doesnt seem to make any crazy obvious mistakes. But his hitting technique should not be tolerated.
  15. Maybe. But if you have a bunch of Receivers and DBs muddling around and all facing the ball and all jockeying for position, it gets tougher to call and you may even end up with OPI. The play is called a Hail Mary for a reason. Not a great play to try to run unless you have nothing else left.
  16. Especially when we are playing a team like the Chiefs. The amount of bashing of our OLine and Diggs from that game, as if the Chiefs defense just isnt really good, is ridiculous.
  17. Youre also up against the refs here because they almost NEVER call a DPI penalty on a hail mary, and rightfully so imo. Too easy to defend.
  18. Agreed. Although there are times he fights for extra yards, like early in the Chiefs game when he put his shoulder down and got the extra 2 yards for a 1st down. But he is very smart and judicious about when he takes that contact. And in that case, there is a difference between him doing the hitting (driving hard into contact for the 1st) versus being contacted (getting laid out by a DB while in a vulnerable position). But yeah, Wouldnt be surprised to find out after the season he's been dealing with injuries.
  19. Yall are really feeding this one still, huh?
  20. Agreed, especially on that late screen pass drop. He felt the DBs blowing through the blocks and turned his head upfield too quickly.
  21. I'm guessing it's a combo of small scheme changes with Brady and an injury that is being hidden, plus the fact that the first half of the season showed other teams that "all we have is Diggs" so they double/blanket him. Not even mentioning that the refs also allow DBs to mug him however they want. I expect Brady to get it figured out and better balanced as we get to the playoffs. There were at least 2 big plays I can remember off the top of my head that Sneed should have been flagged and the refs did nothing. The deep shot on our last FG drive. Sneed had him by the arm. Diggs should have done a better job of stopping to come back for the ball and fighting through Sneed to draw the easy DPI. And a quick slant to Diggs with Sneed draped over him, and hanging off his left arm again, ripping his arm down before the ball even got there. Obvious. No flag. Sneed, like most "good" DBs, is good because he is being allowed to be physical without the flags. Douglas or Benford try it and they get flagged all day. No, but that's one play and those stats cover a lot more than that. That was a bad drop at the end of the game and we definitely need better there from our superstar.
  22. Funny you and others say it as "Diggs hasnt played..." while Erik and other analysts are talking more about the scheme and how Brady is using him. What was the big change at the week 10 drop off?
  23. What are the real stats on that? Because it was made into a big deal in the Eagles game but it turned out he was in for something like 87 out of 95 snaps.
  24. Disappointed this wasnt a link to a Kids in the Hall clip
