Yeah, I think the last minute decision to throw it has resulted in a few "dropped" passes. I put dropped in quotes because it's tough to tell what is going on now. Josh starts to run, but then at the last second throws. The WRs are thinking "Do I need to start blocking? Am I adjusting my route because he's scrambling? Is he really going to throw the ball?" And before they even finish that thought the ball is unexpectedly on them. AND not in a great spot because Josh was unsure as well and then flicked a bad ball at the last second. It's just very disjointed and frenetic because of all this changing decisions. Tuck it and ***** run!

Because he has completely stopped. Whether that has been coached out of him or what, you can say he is "afraid" to run (maybe doesnt want to get in trouble). It's not that he is afraid of contact.

It's literally what we did the first 5 games of last year, and the last 3 games we played this year (LV, WFT, MIA). And then for some reason, whenever we get even a little rattled, we completely abandon it. Even when we are only down by 4 with plenty of time left. We can do it, we do do it. Which makes it even more frustrating when we out-think ourselves. And completely agreed on the scramble vs throwing. Just go get 5 yards and move the chains.

Shouldnt have even been thrown to the chains on 2nd down. Call a play that can pick up 5-7 yards, Dorsey. Again, bad play calling, bad execution. Now you're in 3rd and 7-10, and what should be 4 down territory. No dump off on 3rd and 15 because we shouldnt have been in 3rd and 15.

Of course. It isnt even your opinion. It's simple math. It ruins our numbers advantage. It used to be we were +1 on them and the D would have to decide to leave someone open and watch Josh, or let Josh run all over them as a free runner. Taking that away gave the JAx D a huge advantage yesterday.

The score was 11-7. We didnt need to take big risks or make one big play. We took that penalty on 2nd down to make it 2nd and 15 and apparently decided that was enough to give up the drive. Because on 2nd down we went deep, and then on 3rd down we went deep. The old Dorsey special. Take low percentage deep shots then punt. Or apparently, take deep shots because they are as good as punts. Just gain your 5-7 yards on simple underneath plays and MOVE THE CHAINS. Heck, make it 4 down territory and just get 5 yards each play. Throwing the ball away to the other team on 3rd down isnt smart. It's an act of desperation that equates to giving up.

Diggs is only 29 and just signed a 4 year extension. He's here for at least 3-4 more years.

I "get" the comparison, but it's a weak excuse. Why are we giving up on 3rd down? Just get what you need to move the ***** chains and keep the drive alive. These 3rd down bomb "punts" are for losers. We gave them an INT and momentum, and they took that INT and marched right down the field for a TD.

Of course but then the NFL doesnt get to have games on from 9am to 11pm. That's the whole point. 💰💰💰

Exactly what I was referring to above, thank you. Some of the "drops" mentioned in this thread were just bad throws by Josh after making the bad decision to throw it instead of just tucking it and running for 5 yards. I know a lot of fans and coaches want him to stop running, but yesterday was when we needed it the most. When nothing else can get going, we needed a couple of pick up from Josh's legs. The problem is he has been coached to well to hang in and try to make a throw and not do it all himself. Tough situation for him. Damned if he does, damned if he doesnt. That's why I fall back on coaching needing to be able to see that and let him know. The problem is our HC was probably too busy being the DC and trying to figure out what was going on on D with all those injuries.

Tell me if I'm wrong here, and I havent gone back and done the play analysis some of you have, but IIRC... There were a couple 3rd downs that Josh could have run with the ball and likely picked up the first down, and even started to, and then pulled up and tried to toss it instead which resulted in a drop/incompletion and drive kill. I feel it happened at least twice, maybe once to Knox?

I hate to sound like this, but this ends the season imo. Sure, we'll likely make the playoffs. Might even still win the division. But we arent winning the SB without Milano. Devastated. Absolutely devastated.

I cant disagree about that cursed turf, but we definitely missed Allen's runs today. The Jags didnt need to respect his running ability and it worked against us because it takes away our numbers advantage. There were at least a couple of times when Allen should have pulled it down for 4-5 yards and instead tried to make a pass, and each time it was a bad throw to a covered guy and an incompletion for 0 yards. Whole offense was out of sorts and this was definitely a factor. Need to at least show Josh is a threat or else we're just any other offense.

Moving the ball without scoring points is a loss for the offense. Would have been nice to get off the field more, but the Defense kept us in a position to win for most of the game. The Offense never showed up.

Agreed. There were a lot of different factors that went into this loss, but almost all of them ultimately fall upon McD. Bed decision/plan to travel so late in the week. Team playing sloppy, all those penalties. Special Teams a mess. Offense back to that frenetic energy. And how many times are you going to watch them burn our blitz with Ridley before we stop calling it? Biggest factor this week was Pederson v McD, and Pederson won every level.

But there is a difference between bad human character (Tyreek Hill) and bad football character (Chase Claypool). Bad football character guys are team killers and I'm not sure Miami has the culture and locker room to absorb this.

Watched some last night and WOW he looks bad. Even as a long time Edmunds detractor (who came around on him a bit last year), I'm shocked by just how bad he looks out there. And it isnt just being part of a really bad team, which he is. But Edmunds himself looks slow and soft when playing and in pursuit. There was one play in the 4th quarter where Howell threw a pass over him and Edmunds jumped liked he was going to try to bat it, but then didnt lift his arms up to even try and just fell on the ground. He looked more like a little kid pretending to be a WWE wrestler than a professional getting paid $18M/year. I'm going to try to not come back to this thread because this subject is done as far as I'm concerned personally. The Bills made the right choice in letting him walk. Tremaine got paid but will likely never develop into what his potential could have been. Moving on.
