  1. Probably some players too. Baylon Spector, grab a screw gun.
  2. Yeah, I believe they can change the screw-in cleats, but even that would be a major undertaking while youre in the middle of a game.
  3. My point is, no coach drew up or designed the play that lead to JP's batted ball and AJ's int. I'll give credit to the CB blitz call that put Benford in the position to make that play. That was one. But it has been few and far between that our D scheme or D playcall "tricks" or forces the offense into a mistake. It relies on individual players going above and beyond and saving the unit. The last one that comes to mind was years ago at the end of the Chiefs regular season game, when Frazier called a play for Von to stunt inside and Milano to delay rush, and it tricked Mahomes into flushing right and throwing the ball right to Milano. Ed Oliver punching the ball out on Derrick Henry was an Ed Oliver play, not a scheme play. Etc. I hope all is well with the Knox family.
  4. Right, that's what I said. But that was it. When push came to shove, we let them march right down the field, unless individual players can take it upon themselves to make ridiculous plays. The last month?!? They showed up against an ailing Steelers team. Other than that, they gave up over 30 points to the Bucs, and let Davis frickin Mills own them all day against the Texans, and then needed more Josh magic against the Bengals. Defense is a concern. There is no denying it.
  5. Arguable. And mostly thanks to Josh being super man, so we're always in position to win games. We got a couple of great individual plays for turn overs, thank goodness. We only forced one stop/punt the 2nd half, and allowed the Bengals to move right down the field otherwise. I guess we disagree on what "in position to win" means.
  6. The excuse list for this McDefense is longer than the actual Defensive play sheet.
  7. A lot of good, and I'm sure correct, answers here regarding the turf and what happens when we try to remove snow. However, one aspect I havent seen mentioned is cleats. The players have different cleats for playing in snow than on a clear field. If you are clearing snow, but then it is also accumulating over the quarter/half, then the players will have the wrong cleats on for part of the time no matter which way you go. I think it's easier for them to say "ok, we're playing in a a couple inches of snow so wear those cleats" and stay consistent, then having to go back and forth on a clear field. But I just made this up so who knows.
  8. Do we ever show up psyched for games? Feels more like its always "low positive". Get pushed around in the beginning, then hope we find some traction, get a fluke TO on Defense, and Josh pulls a rabbit out of his hat. Real interested in how this McD v Vrable series plays out over this season and over the years.
  9. Yeah, I had the whole list of TE contracts pulled up on Spotrac when I posted that. I get that contracts always go up over time, along with the cap. Knox signed at $15M/yr but has been knocked down to $9M/yr in order to keep his job. Kincaid has been good, but certainly not elite even when healthy. I could get comfortable at $12M/yr. But if we didnt want to pay Cook $15M/yr no way Kincaid should get that. He isnt in the Andrews/Njoku/Hockenson tier. I can
  10. Rookie contract. Those townhouses by the stadium a bunch of players live in have like 9ft ceilings at most.
  11. The option question is a no-brainer. Of course you pick it up. At only $8M, even more so. Then see how it plays out for an extension. I believe he has earned, and is worthy, of a second contract. Just dont make the Knox mistake again. No need to pay these guys $15M+. Should be more like an $8M-10M average.
  12. Yeah, I mentioned yesterday I was seeing a lot of "smoke" online about this, but it's all just random people posting stuff in comments. Nothing of actual substance. Wishful thinking and echo-chamber type stuff. Even if there was a rift, we'd likely never know with the way they keep stuff locked down, and the respect they have for each other. This will be one of those things that the mob comments about until one of the big talking heads picks up on it and mentions it in a tweet, and then all those same people will use that as "proof" of its existence.
  13. This was silly when people were trying to make this argument over the summer. It's even sillier now. And for the record, Ty has a fumble this year. On only 25 rushes and 16 receptions. So do that math to get to his average rate vs Jimbo.
  14. But, is he... worth it? side note to Beane: going forward, pick more players who contribute to National Championships. This aint rocket surgery
