  1. This is the worst outcome for the Dems. They will be saddled with the ACA as it dies away while being responsible for no new healthcare plan. Trump should have been openly and loudly courting the Dems throughout this process. If he had, it might have passed. Now we have no new plan and the R's were 85% in favor of it while the Dems had zero backing for it. Shame on you Dems.

this is a massively naive statement. several levels

first, nobody but nooobody is going to own health care but the republicans. the narrative that somehow dems will be responsible for a total republican gubmint not being able to manage the ONLY healthcare system available will ALWAYS be blamed on them. they are the top dogs, they have it all, they OWN it all. trying to push this on democrats is weak and will fail. its hysterical that anyone thinks otherwise, but thats partisanship

next, theres absolutely no way the democrats were going to vote for anything near this disaster, even if trump had tried to include them, theres no way they would bridge the enormous gap of massive restructuring that would end up looking a lot like the ACA. thats not even mentioning the gross partisanship and overt warring that has been going on for the last decade. if theres was ever to be an olive branch extended to the dems it would never be right now on this legislation bc the two sides are diametrically opposed on hc philosophy

this is an enormous win for the democrats right here. now they will be part of the process. i agree with the don that it will be when the ACA 'explodes', but ppl will be blaming him not the dems, which will drive HIM to the table with them. the dems technically have nothing but now they have a real chance to be part of the next attempt to deliver quality hc in america

reminder: im not a partisan democrat. i voted republican last two potus elections. this is just fact

  2. Sound the crumpets and blow the Matterhorn!!!

ding dong, that piece of ѕhit legislation is dead!!

Recognizing that the **** bill you're about to pass is, in fact, a **** bill and declining to vote on it is one of the bigger successes to come out of Congress in the past 20 years.

Really...I'm almost encouraged. It's the most mature thing I've seen from the Hill in ages.

true but unfortunately i dont think they deserve credit. this was a mistake, this is not what they intended. they certainly backed into any 'mature' decisions here

the best we can say is the system worked, for once. now we'll see if we are finally ready to work together to bring good hc to the most successful country in human history

  3. does cutler really even want to play anymore? or does he just want to collect a paycheck?

i dont follow im closely at all but he carries that reputation of having a bad attitude. if true, i wouldnt want that on my team, and i can see why hes still available

from a strictly football perspective, i would definitely prefer him over tyrod. but they are polar opposites in terms of attitude

any team that does sign him as a #2 probably has an instant problem bc any time the starter struggles there will be pressure to bring in cutler

personally id rather sign kaepczerj7nick or rg1/2 to be the backup

  4. Maybe they've already evaluated that option and decided that the combination go CK at LT and Glenn at RT is not better, or maybe even a weaker combination overall than Glenn and Mills staying where they are and continue to create more competition and upgrade a RT.

    thats possible, good point

  5. The very first time I saw the comment that kJoe could play left tackle better than right tackle because of his knee I thought it would be a great idea to put Glenn on the right side. There really is no reason not to do it other than emotional and like others have said as long as Glen is getting paid the same as a right tackle then he probably wouldn't be against it

  6. I have personally seen racial biased happen too many times to disregard it as not factual.

ty for your cordial reply. we need to have these important discussions and i personally think we should have them when they pop up like this

its definitely real and it definitely happens. lets continue to look for it and go get it when we find it

i just strongly believe that its not nearly as widespread as the baiters make it. we have serious problems with even the basic definition of racism and then we take that broken definition and apply it to far too many situations

this effectively CREATES RACISM OUT OF THIN AIR. it also devalues real racism and makes it harder to go get that properly

prejudice of course go both ways and ive seen it all. but we generally only focus on the whiteness when in fact blackness can be very good at pinning things unfairly on whatever they consider part of whiteness, which includes the police

just bc we find a precinct here and there that we have to address to get them away from racist patterns doesnt mean we get to broadbrush it across all or most police

that broadbrushing is exactly the same technique racists use. ive termed that form of racism 'neo-racism'

that contingent within our blackness and the enabling whiteness want to tell us we have a systemic problem when in reality it exists only in pockets. those are two totally different levels of a problem, and the baiters intentionally inflate its occurrence, probably by a factor of at least ten

so again, we definitely have real racism problems but they are not nearly as big as the baiters want to make us believe. that doesnt help us as much as it hurts us

You see its not just shootings, its an entire racial prejudice in our entire judicial system.

i have been keeping an eye on the judicial system for many decades and i saw studies from just a couple years ago that indicated a widespread effort to eliminate bias in arrests and convictions has eliminated most of that specific bias

unfortunately i dont have that link right now but we can probably find it. and this observation has been made in other books that i have read

again, wherever we find it we should continue to go after it, but to use it as a justification for the broadbushing of whiteness and the police appears unjustified

the difficult fact to accept is that as a percentage of population we have a far greater problem of racism within our blackness. but since whiteness is so much bigger in terms of population, its easier to see white racism

a lot of our current problems really trace back to our blackness and the erroneous perspectives that are so common there. weve allowed a somewhat warped perspective of black oppression to dominate our thoughts when really we have a different set of problems right now

  7. Kap made a peaceful protest about an ugliness that WAS going on in this country at that time.

    actually it wasnt

there is no widespread or systemic racial bias in police shootings. it looked/looks bad visually bc the media was/is only reporting on instances involving cops who shoot blacks, they are virtually ignoring those instances with whites getting shot by police. its another clicks thing, to generate attention and thus money. if you report on whites getting unfairly shot by cops almost nobody cares, but make it black and the world explodes. nobody cares about black folks more than me but it became obvious a while ago that many lies are being told via selective attention on this topic

the philandro castille shooting was completely unjustified and i hope that cop serves time and is fired. but that was a terrible mistake of nerves by someone who shouldnt be a cop, not the cold blooded execution of a black man as it was disgustingly represented in the media and by BLM. mr castille resembled a suspect in a violent robbery that had just occurred, which is why they handled him the way they did. the rest of the instances had extenuating circumstances that probably required an investigation but actually had nothing to do with police bias against blacks

if kaeperczj7nick had been protesting police brutality in general, or a narrative that all lives matter, that would have been fine. but he was buying into a BLM narrative that is misguided at best and intentional lying at worst

People have died for this country for hundreds of years to protect his right to do that. All this cry baby nonsense about it is ridiculous. I have family and friends in the military, and a good friend of mine just retired and was part seal team 6. They all supported him and literally couldn't understand why people were so upset sighting they lost friends defending the very right Kap was using.

ive said many times that i will stand and defend the right of a KKK grand wizard to speak their mind. i will probably hate every word coming out of their mouth, but i will defend their right to say it

kap had every right to do what he did and i will defend his right just the same. but it was a misguided and unfortunate choice that only made things worse bc it validated a false narrative, imo

  8. This is an actual, real, serious headline at Huffington Post: "Republicans Are Crying About Obamacare Problems They Helped Create."

Typical, simple-minded leftist rhetoric. Only one party created the problems that came from Obamacare because only one party voted for it.

You have to be a dumbass of epic proportions to believe that headline.

i dont usually read huffpo for the same reason i dont usually respond to your posts: both are hopelessly partisan

but for anyone else that wants to discuss this, huffpo might have a case on this one.

those risk corridors were important elements of the total plan and i recall it being a big issue of concern at the time. the expansion of medicade was the other huge issue, and it was entirely republican governors that refused to extend that safety net for their states

im no expert on this topic like magox but i was very concerned about those two things and i viewed them as intentional sabotage by the republicans. both of these elements have the ability to cripple the program, which i believe is what republicans intended, as disgusting as that is. so it appears huffpo may have a valid point despite their extreme partisan bias

it would be interesting to hear comments about this from the three or four nonpartisan members here

  9. in terms of flat out bust its maybin. dick 'dickball' jauron was desperate for a game changer and went all in on roll that turned up snake eyes

but in terms of massively disappointing it has to be mike williams. graded out as a sure fire blue-chipper, couldnt be a safer pick in the whole draft. then apparently he fell in love with rolling around in his money and didnt care anymore. nobody saw that coming, but it happened. a general managers worst nightmare

  10. i agree, there must be something we dont know. and considering everything that nfl teams put up with, it must be bad

he was clearly their best all around lb, definitely had the most speed of the starters, pretty much the only guy who could reliably be asked to cover. you would think the bills would be thrilled to have him still available and would be trying to get him at their price, but with the comments here about murph talking like theres no chance that doesnt seem like theres even interest from this end

Maybe he's one of the ones who was sleeping in meetings (as Lorax mentioned)

    that would certainly do it

maybe if hes still available after a few more weeks (tail btwn his legs) the bills might be able to get him at their price and under their conditions (no more sleeping in mtgs)

sure would be nice not having that one more big hole to fill

  11. here we are late in the fourth qtr of this key conference game between the raiders and bills. its a thriller folks and playoff spots are on the line. raiders ball, trailing by six, third and eleven at the twenty-four, nine seconds left, ej manuel in for the injured carr. ejs in shotgun, heres the snap ... ej fakes the handoff, looking ..., uh oh looks like theyve got him ... no, he breaks free to the right, crabtree is moving across the middle to his left, manuel fires across his body ... touchdown!! raiders win! raiders win!

  12.

Is that how you argue? You go from one extreme to another. I give you a practical example of disagreements of morality and you provide this?

you should get out now. you did very well here but now youre stepping in bottomless quicksand

You are drawing a moral equivalence of my example to what you posted.

Do you not see the absurdity of your argument?

    sinking ...

you cant win when it gets to this point

use the mental ignore force, luke

  13. That has to be some of the dumbest $%#@ I've ever seen here, and that includes Gator's rambling inanities.

    I missed the original post.

    Funny as hell.

    Wow you're crazy.

From the little-known first draft of the Sermon on the Mount...

really sticks in you guys' craw, doesnt it? does it taste bitter? does it make you furious? makes you want to lash out at me, doesnt it?

here, let me lick your tears

yes, deal with the reality. if you watch me and emulate how i approach race issues, you will be a better and far more enlightened person on issues involving race

follow me, dumbass white men, and i will show you the way

eventually (probably after a very long interval) you will get the hint: your irrational reactions to me and my content on race are exactly the lesson you need that something is wrong inside you and how you approach race issues. im doing you a favor by bringing your own poison to the surface

the implications should be obvious: every time you object to me what you really need to be doing is looking within yourself and determine why you react so poorly to the truth. sadly, this is hardly never the case, you will find all kinds of ridiculous reasons to blame me instead of looking at where you are deficient. you will never take me up on my recommendation to go educate yourself, preferring to remain blissfully ignorant of how full of ѕhit you actually are. but you and the ppl around you and our generally messed up race issue culture at large are the ones to suffer for it. oh well

the invitation always remains open for you to join me when i make one of my frequent visits to the ghetto, to black churches, to my black friends houses. but of course you never will. you prefer to remain ignorant. people like you are why we keep finding ourselves in the same race issue messes over and over again. funny how i dont suffer from that at all

but now please, proceed with your insatiable appetite to attack me instead of dealing with the valuable content of what im providing to you

and remember, dont hate me cuz im pwngful

  14. ... so apparently its a movie with a mixed race couple, black man (of course) and a white woman

btw, have you noticed our popular culture almost never puts a white man with a black woman? watch our popular imagery (tv, movies, especially advertisements) and just count the number of times you see a black man/white woman and compare it against how many times you see a white man/black woman. there is a very dramatic and obvious difference in frequency. even as we are FINALLY starting to put mixed couples in commercials it is ALWAYS a black man with a white woman. in all the years ive been watching intently for this, we have exactly ONE commercial in forever that has a white man and a black woman, and that just came out in the last year. that is not coincidence

have you ever asked yourself why that is? theres several reasons

first, there is a special prejudice in blackness against the white male. most blacks are prejudiced against whites, but there is a special hatred for white males. ive talked to many blacks many times about this, and the consensus among non-racist blacks is that its due to that classic phrase 'its the man keeping us down.' in other words, bc blacks view oppression as coming primarily from white men they permanently hold all white males accountable and thus hate white men with a special passion. of course this is living in the past, but its a very real phenomenon

secondly, blacks put enormous pressure on black females to 'keep the race pure.' if a black woman goes out with a white man she has to be prepared to get bombarded by accusations of 'betraying the race.' ive had this discussion many times with black women, and it is always confirmed bc it is a reality. next time you find a black woman dating or trying to date white men go ahead and ask them point blank, i guarantee they will tell you that themselves. most black women thus seek dates with white men essentially in secret so they dont have to deal with the fallout

of course this makes no sense since black males can have as many white women as they want, and of course they do, in great frequency. just count the mixed race couples as you walk around in life, and make a note of how many times you see a black male/white woman versus the number of times you see a white male/black woman. by my estimation, you will see at least thirty instances of the first example before you will see one example of the second. the reason for that is entirely black racism, the special prejudice most blacks have against white males dating black women, and the pressure that gets put on black women to not date white men, that we see clearly reflected in the gross disparity in our popular culture

ironic considering that this is now the golden age of black males fkg white women. nearly all of my black male friends had multiple white women they routinely had sex with - even the married males! many white women literally pay black men to come over and fk them, they give them money and food and booze. my sisters long time female roommate had this arrangement with a black man, and ive heard it many other times from other women. but many if not most black males get furious if a white man tries to fk a black woman.in the same manner. this of course is exactly the same way it used to be in reverse for white males and white culture. but whiteness has moved beyond that, to the point that hardly nobody bats an eye seeing a black man hitting on white women in white bars, but just try being a white man going into a black bar and hitting on black women and you'll see a different story. i know bc ive lived exactly that situation, and if youre not careful you will get into a lot of dangerous trouble

and do you want to hear something super weird? if a white man is already WITH a black woman, as in they are in a committed relationship, he gets almost complete acceptance from the black community. its like a 'get into blackness free' card. show up anyplace with your black wife and you are instantly one of the brothers. i used to get hookups all over the place when i was with my black wife, any place where blacks have control you get ALL KINDS of free or discounted stuff: food, entrance into clubs and parties, discounts, whatever. but if you are just a white guy trying to GET with a black woman, everything changes. black males DO NOT want you trying to pick up black women, and if you do you run the risk of getting your ass kicked. funny how this is just like the white racists i used to routinely argue with back in the day. i lost count many years ago how many black males i saved from a rabid group of white males just bc they were trying to talk to white girls in a bar. pretty tragic and pathetic it now happens the other way around

of course i dont give two ѕhits if black men date white women, more power to them. im not racist so if you as a black man want to date my sister and shes open to it im all for it. i will introduce you. ive got one sister whos kind of big and ive been trying to get her a black boyfriend forever since they generally seem to like the big girls. my problem, of course, is the same as it always is, with the overt double standard and rank hypocrisy. here we are, allegedy so advanced when it comes to race issues, and yet both white males and black women get enormous grief in most instances if they try to date each other (but not if they are already together, as weird as that is). theres only one reason this happens: black racism. its sad and pathetic but its real

  15. So whose seen "get out" ?

Ive heard people on radio shows rant and rave about how amazing it is for weeks now. Rotten Tomatoes has it as 99%

Saw it tonite and kept waiting for some deep and profound moment that never came.

I think the main message was white people want to steal black peoples attributes. Anyone seen it ?

    never heard of it

i lost interest in popular tv a long time ago and dont watch hardly anything other than sports, news, old sitcoms, and cartoons

but ifs its related to race issues i would check it out
