  1. Eh, I shouldn't have gone off on you. My appologies, Bug boy. Grumpy, today.
  2. It's good habit anyway, I have to hand in a monthly report and if I don't keep notes, I usually forget what I did at the beginning of the month anyway.
  3. Isn't the main point of any issue now the breaking ranks potential of the Republican party? It's all the democrats have. "See! We're better, because they didn't agree with him either!" That's not even being partisan. If the democrats give me a candidate I can believe in to deal with what I think is important, I'll vote for him (notice, I didn't say "her"). I think, to a degree at least, that both parties realize they are in Dinosaur mode, and also realize that the public hasn't gotten it yet. They are frightened for the day they do. And no, Libertarians aren't the answer either. I just don't know what is.
  4. Man, talk about some beautiful uninhibited grey/blue eyed blondes.
  5. I'll be in L-Tryptophan stupor anyway.
  6. Half of pro football is coming off ACL surgery at one time or another. I don't know about attitude, I've never had a beer with the guy. I'm in the camp that if Moulds is gone, better find a good receiver somewhere to pair with Evans. Either take the freak TE prospect at 8, if available, or trade around to balance needs. I'd be more concerned about publicly annointed perfect college linemen going first round this year if it weren't for the draft being pretty deep in good (not spectacular) linemen. After watching Teague get run over and looking baffled for quite a while, I was most concerned about center, and although I had other choices, what we got is an upgrade. I'll be among the first to say, agree, and jump up and down that both lines have to be seriously improved. But improved doesn't have to mean going off the deep end in the other direction. Last I heard, it's a team sport and folks actually responsible for such have to make 22 pieces plus plug ins fit whatever it is they want to do. Moulds is gone. Go to Philly? Whatever. If that happens so be it. What does Philly have that you want? Walker has at least shown he can play.
  7. A lot of 20 something single Air Force guys are crying right now.
  8. No, not the full monte by any stretch. But a modification to it. As you said, Poker. There's still a lot of time to play. I'm not adverse to trading ONE lower pick, plus Eric. Both teams will look at what is best for them, and each other.
  9. How dare you? Isn't this really about UFO's and Chupacabra?
  10. This guy was playing percentages. He was riding the proposal horse, which didn't specify union vs. non-union, which wasn't that big of a deal, but did specify personnel. I accepted his bid based on so many laborers per day. I went out to the site one day and found three times as many people on site than he had bid. After I got invoiced, I held him to his original costs. He sued for the amount of people. I left the company in the meantime, but my old boss told me they settled in arbitration as the cost of defense would have ultimately ended up being more than the settlement. Ahh, America - Land of Opportunity.
  11. Better keep an eye on your brewskies, Nick... Now they've gone way too far...
  12. Handoff to OJ. Handoff to OJ. Handoff to OJ. Punt. I didn't mean to couple them together. Different eras, as was getting rid of Lamonica.
  13. And crooked contractors regularly try to take serious advantage of that, playing both ends. When I was involved in remediation I had a sub using picked up day labor that couldn't speak English, and charging me Union Labor costs. After I caught him, it ultimately had to go to court. Why? because I kicked him off the job.
  14. Pretty much. One will be hard pressed to EVER see a class of '83 again. Besides those three, several others had decent careers.
  15. And I'll say it again, if I'm checked into the Radisson, and I've had four martinis and get hauled off for being over the limit, I'm going to find a way to get even. Especially when they gave me the free drink coupons.
  16. NO Mayoral Elections Would it be safe to say that the displaced voters are aware there is an election? And how many of these displaced voters will not return to New Orleans, having found a new life in a new area. That is the part that would concern me. If someone has taken up in Houston, or Atlanta, should they be voting for the Mayor of NO? How does one control that?
  17. I'm still in the trade down camp. Except for Davis (potentially too good to pass up), I just don't see anyone on top that is worth top 10 money TO THE BILLS. I'm sure there is high value there to other teams. But really, anything left open doesn't require the greatest of greatest of stars, just someone who can actually play the game.
  18. USAID I was just guessing that there might be a social services angle to this, especially if you were multi-lingual. I know they have a lot going on all over the world right now, and a lot of people in Iraq, including quite a bit of contractor support. Contrary to what gets discussed a lot, there is a lot of work going on to restore services and infrastructure.
  19. I'm still not messing with Cecelia Fire Thunder.
  20. Or conversely and more realistically, everyone in America is going to have to learn how to pay more for stuff. That's the logical outcome, to me anyway.
  21. Good. We're in agreement on my main issue. That's not how you sounded on your first take. As for armoring trucks, I still see a cost benefit issue. The extra armor really is more of a feel good thing. Trucks are more likely to be blown up in roadsides than shot at in ambush these days. That's more reserved for black SUV's. Hard to destroy a truck with a rifle. To be honest, I don't know the effectiveness of the applique armor against RPG's, but that would be the only value I could see.
  22. I recall you bringing this up more or less once before. I agree with the documenting. I suggested that to a friend a few months ago, and it ended up helping her. But, if they are that reluctant to get rid of dead wood, you should be safe as well, at least until something else comes along. Also, DHS is no clam bake. There are all kinds of internal issues there as well. Ever think about USAID? Make some nice money in Iraq.
