  1. Well, I'll give you this much. At least it's not "droll". You love it, you know you do. Never had anywhere near this attention in high school. Got it here. You da man. Everyone looks to you. Too each his own, but I wouldn't put my head on the plate just to have people react and make fun of me. Getting laid is more fun. Try it sometime, without paying for someone keeping their eyes closed. No doubt in my mind you wouldn't cook a woman dinner. Lose weight, learn how to dress, learn how to talk...you can do that without being the Simpson's Comic Book Guy. Though, that's where many see you. 20 something women generally aren't real impressed by basketball statistics. Or justifying anything wrong the Cardinals do. It's sad to me, that this is what you choose for a life. You get ragged on, you beg for it. No one is fooled. Straighten up and fly right Brandon, life might be better.
  2. Pretty well. Who could give up that many straight lines accidently?
  3. Man, I feel lame. Thank you. I actually forgot that I have a bamboo steamer. We used to practice Dim Sum recipes we got from some friends in Hong Kong. I'll dig it out. I think, when I put it up, that I had it rubbed down with sesame oil. Seriously, I'm not kidding. I forgot I had it. Age, you know.
  4. Other than the fact I'm not a salmon fan, screw the penne. TIME OUT - SERIOUS COOKING QUESTION I use a microwave steamer a lot - convienience and time. Am I better off just adding the liquid and the vegetables on the tray at the same time? Or is it better to heat the liquid to boiling, then add the veggies and steam? I know the microwave is going to cook the vegs as they steam them, but it just seems like I lose a lot of calories heating water and can easily overdo/underdo the vegetables. I had thought about pre-heating the liquid, then cutting back the traditional time by 30% or so. Thoughts? (Besides getting a vegetable steamer, I have a big seafood steamer - not going to buy new cookware for something I fix once per month. Thanks in advance, Chef. OK, BACK TO FRIVOLITY AND ASS-WHUPPIN'S!!!
  5. Buckey? Gene? Have you read the policies and applied it to current events over the last few years? We can go onto the next readings if you have.
  6. Nope, too long for that. Has to be condensed to a 1:40 soundbite.
  7. Gonzales would not be a bad choice. Gut wrenching knee jerk garment rendering opinions to the aside, he's been well within the law on anything I can look up. Fairly middle of the road, too - leaning towards conservative, of course. It's Bush's turn to choose his team. I recall, before the elctions were even held, that many people considered this the biggest, or at least one of the bigger long term issues for the next presidency. Let's see what happens.
  8. Just for giggles... Got hungry the other night. Open fridge...nothing apparant. Take inventory. Boil some penne al dente. In the same water, cook up some frozen broccoli with some pearl onions, left over bell pepper and some mushrooms. (timed of course). Pull some leftover chicken out of the freezer, thaw in microwave (while boiling is going on). Whip up a quick parmesan-bechemel in a small saucepan while the pasta is cooking. Drain pasta and veggies, return to pasta pan. Add sauce and chicken. Toss. Pull garlic-cheese bread out of broiler (forgot to mention bread). Pour third glass of wine. Simple sliced tomato/sliced onion salad with oil and vinegar on the side. Total time? Didn't time, but but I'm certain less than 30 minutes. No, it's not gourmet - but DAMN, you can make something both healthy and edible in 30 minutes. Ever hear of Rachel Raye? People do this stuff every day.
  9. You have to be enjoying this to be leaving set up lines like that out on the ice.
  10. I couldn't WAIT to get away from high school. Haven't seen the place since the last flicker in the rearview mirror. I don't care if Alden was beautified by the church, I'd find something else to toot my horn over besides how many 4-H or whatever ribbons they won. I think Alden was considered a pretty good school at the time. I had no effect on it, it had no effect on me. They were rather happy to see me graduate and leave, as a matter of fact. You know, this obsession with statistics you have isn't proving intelligence, it's more an indicator of mania. I kinda thought "whatever" to who batted what on May 5th, 1973...but tossing out your high school awards package is a little...I don't know what it is.
  11. It's a bunch of crap, but wildman there does have a point - just because of the way he stated it, you know a lot of people are going to think that, and you can best bet that the Democrat part of the Senate will ride the horse - should they want to - even though THEY know better.
  12. In the hotter parts of summer, I'm more concerned about jellyfish than sharks. There's about two weeks every summer off S. Carolina and GA where you just don't get in the water...you're going to get stung.
  13. KK fought one on skull island in the original. Those damn 1930's geneticists.
  14. I'm not saying that I'm not aware of that ( ), but to clarify, I was refering to things that happened to them from about 11 through 16.
  15. Joking aside... I personally have no problem with "young". But legal is legal. I have three "penpals" I correspond with pretty regular. 19-19-20. They are very bright, articulate young ladies and also by the way, very attractive. We have some good conversations. I enjoy getting points of view from them because, at 49 - I just can't get my brain to function from that age groups viewpoint. It's interesting, and helpful to actually be able to have a long back and forth conversation about where the country is going, what's important to them especially in terms of things I work with. Same with getting the dissenting views from places like (gasp) PPP. I help to write, review, and advise on government policy in certain areas. How things are worded and presented can make a big difference as to how it is received. In return, they sometimes talk to me about things that they might not feel comfortable talking with an older adult they know face to face over. I'm not talking about sex, but sometimes other things where they don't want to appear stupid trying to articulate something. I'm sort of their internet "Uncle Paul". All three, (I said they were good looking) have had problems with older male relatives and "family friends" getting overly "chummy". It's made them pretty uncomfortable and quite distrustful. I guess that is part of why this lust fest business with young gals bothers me. I don't have any daughters, but this gives me an idea (three for three) that this is probably a bigger problem than some realize.
  16. There are. Off the Carolina and Georgia coasts you can't get away from them. The water is murkey, I've been fishing and had them swim right into me, bounce off and go somewhere else. Most of the sharks around there are fish eaters, and fairly (if not very) small - not much to worry about - unless you need to get them off your hook. Toughest friggen skin on a fish in the world. I ended up just cutting off the leader and tossing them back out. Trying to remove the hook usually kills them.
