  1. Because they know the western press will make us look like monsters (along with Al Brassier) if we look cross-eyed at one? They know the ROE probably better than most of our troops do.
  2. That's not the right answer either. It usually takes pressure, not winning hearts and minds. There's just different ways of exerting pressure besides an air strike.
  3. Wish it were that simple. Know it wasn't my question, but a lot of the real successes dealing with these people are through venues other than direct military action. Thoughts of treaties and diplomacy with the TERRORISTS accomplishes nothing, but treaties and diplomacy, along with other actions with the people who have them living in their backyards can accomplish a lot.
  4. Contrary to the movies, they don't glow all that long. Off the top of my head, you can apply the 7/10's rule. For every 7 periods of time, the residual radiation decreases by a factor of 10. Some neutron induced activity in the vicinity of ground zero will last longer, but still not that much of an issue. One would use an airburst, anyway. Go for the static overpressure blast effects, and better thermal. Wouldn't be that much residual to start out with.
  5. Anything I might add would put this squarely into the dark side. Shameful.
  6. Where'd that worse show thread go? Don't even have to watch this one to get it on the list.
  7. You don't see me disagreeing. Any current National Strategy document includes the phrase "All elements of national power", or something close to it. That includes (primarily) political, military, diplomatic and economic.
  8. Isn't Mecca pretty well a "spot on the ground"? Seems they could re-build it.
  9. I never really cared that much for Camp LeJeune.
  10. Don't you remember what that started about 4 years ago?
  11. That's "Mr. Honorable Conservative Commentator". Hey, the guy agrees with everything I've been saying all along. Why shouldn't I think it's a good piece?
  12. That was probably one of the best op-ed's I've seen in a while, but my ears are still going to be ringing with Flightsuit-Halliburton.
  13. Thank you. I was around for the beginning of the "internet". At the time, it was basically a DoD email system. We had to have a mandatory class to get our authorization and addresses to use it. It would have evolved, of course, but I agree, Al Gore didn't invent it. He just saw to it that several millions in taxpayer funding got turned over to certain people. Would have happened anyway, just greased the skids.
  14. I don't know about you, but I'd give up without a fight.
  15. I keep track. I didn't appreciate the shot given the other day. I don't do that (pointless shots), and didn't deserve one. No reason for it. But, any guy with a yip yip lap dog for an avatar probably has issues anyway.
  16. Get the rubber out of YOUR ass yet? Just wondering. Not really important, just curious. Or was it out of the dog in the avatar? I lose track. What perverted crap was I doing? I forget. Yeah, you were talking to me, sport. You reminded us of insulting with no cause in the middle of a conversation. Witty you are. Feel pretty? Oh so witty?
  17. We called them speed bumps. Camels are nasty. You want to know real fear, imagine what it must have been like on the other side during the first months of "don't ask-don't tell". Be across the lines from a superior force all holding a jar of vaseline with personal web posts on Craigslist.
