Do you thank New York City for this? I haven't lived in NYS since 1974, but from what little I keep up with... Damn. We used to blame our statewide ills on NYC, or Rocky...usually NYC. Then, it was justified. I keep seeing opinions and posts about things going on in the State, and around Buffalo... For lack of a better way to put it, WTF is going on? Y'all (not all of you) keep electing the same people who have been screwing you for years. I go back to NYC. Is the rest of the State that powerless? Yeah, I've read the local politics too. Maybe someone can explain that as well. I grew up Democrat-Union. Maybe it doesn't work so well anymore?

Not a bad question. Notice the correllation between dumb headlines vs. talking heads and media emphasis. I've said before, IMO, that the more ANY administration has to defend itself - that's the entire machine - the less resources there are to do the work. Yeah, I know a lot of it gets into lawyers and PR, but we'd be better off without the lawyers and PR. I'm sort of surprised that someone isn't all over the 1,000 or so pages of recent FBI files on the ACLU and whoever else. Maybe it's not a story? Someone tried to stir it up. And, if I got into lots of black and white detail as to how scenarios like this get looked at in "the real world", both liberal and conservative sides would unite on a march against Washington. If this were proven to be the work of radical Islamists, with no state sponsorship I wouldn't be bombing anybody. Things would be prosecuted, but not that way. Have to suck that one up. Were there state sponsorship involved, which I personally think the chances of having approach near zero, might be another question - but as has been pointed out, targets can be defeated kinetically without resorting to nuclear weapons.
