You actually made a poll with those questions? John Madden, right?
-
Well, fair is fair, but I'm not really too excited over guys butt photos.

I'm sorry I chimed in. My head hurts, now. I knew I shouldn't have done that. It's also a "duh". Whether you want to run or pass, you need a line. It's been blown off in Buffalo for years. Some gimic player will keep you in the headlines. I KNOW!!! WE'LL DRAFT A WR!!! He can run fast.

Like I'm scared of dried up old farts.... Oh...wait a minute, that was a mirror? Sorry, my bad...thought it was you. I think I'll get a haircut.

I don't think smiley posts should be counted towards totals, but I don't know how to fix it and don't care anyway.

Mainstream Media crashes and burns

Good point, the speed of the people can not keep up with the speed of the technology, which drives the "instant". I know better to even try on the reality of things, it's too late. If it's older than one day, it's a backwater story on page 16, if it gets talked about at all. Go get 'em, Ron. They need to hear it because a lot of people know it's the truth, just doesn't fit the agenda and you got sacrificed, well because, you're expendable. You're not going to be on welfare, so outside of a weeks worth of pride (because America will have another Aruba Girl and forget) it really doesn't matter, and instead of working 16 hour days you'll have some time for golf. Doesn't matter who is right or wrong, it's how it is presented. You knew you were screwed, Mr. Brown, the moment they put Nagin on the center stage. Didn't see the governor out there much, did you? Talk to me again about how balanced our media is, whether they are responsible or not. You might fool some people, you ain't fooling me. I don't count, but I can point and say B***sh--. -
I'm not close enough to all the local media, insider knowledge and what not for an informed Bills opinion, that's why I'm asking. I am, on the other hand pretty close to systems where I see people get into a mindset, and form organizations to the point of agreeable personalities within those mindsets. Over a period of time, they become an institution that nobody questions because, by golly, that's how things are done. You have an owner that, bless his heart, is getting pretty old and a management that may or may not be taking advantage of that. We're frustrated as hell because of what we have, but I'm of the mind that nothing is going to change until you change the front office. I was willing to give them a pass tactically as I thought they might be up to something strategically. Which goes back to my original post. Fix it this year. You've had time. I'm reaching my ICE point. I'll give you guys (I know you read, also know you don't care) this year. Play with your money to make this team competitive on something other than cute and tricky draft moves and hiring decisions. I'm not seeing a lot of genious out there after this much time. San Francisco can give you a game and the Bengals are 3-0. Where are we? Last year and the year before and the year before that.

I'm enjoying the copy of "Bias" you gave me. A lot I don't agree with with, sounds vindictive and name dropping (except where it should) but Goldberg makes some great points as to the overall mentality of things. I myself always assumed they did it on purpose. I never considered the angle that they do things that way because it's how they ALL think. And because they never expose themselves to another opinion (without looking down their nose at it) they believe they are neutral and balanced. -
They are all getting better.

A glaring deficiency. Yet, they don't and haven't addressed it. I remember all the "woo hoo" over a power running game talk. Well, it takes more than a running back that could go down on any given play. WTF are we drafting a midget wide receiver for? With a rookie QB? OK, this is leaning to a line conversation, but I'm still going to try to keep the organization perspective. Are they so in love with the idea that a skill player may save the day that one can make do without the most simple of basics? You have to be able to block, tackle and cover if you want a Super Bowl. There are plenty of people out there that can catch or run the ball if you have those three first.
-
Which brings me back to the point of my "football" thread. Other teams get better, some teams get worse. We are marking time in some kind of groundhog day mode. The players are an extension of the vision. We are myopic.

I don't think statistics tell the whole story, and I'm also not focusing on offensive line play.

Nice deflection from the issue at hand, Counsellor. Blame this issue on the war in Iraq. I'm very aware, probably much more so than you of the impacts of our media on foreign perceptions. I'm sure they realize it as well, but I probably care about it more than they do. Yes, images were in many cases technically "accurate". They were also snapshots taken throughout a movie played on a big set without any attempt whatsoever to bring the total story to the front. They were also reported without ever speaking of the hard truths that no network would ever be caught dead uttering. There's a liberal (not dem-repub, but liberal) bias to mainstream news. That is because of those creating it. They view themselves as balanced, when in fact they are not. They have nothing to guage differently by, because everyone around them is as liberal minded as they are. It doesn't cross their minds that people should have sense and do something smart, unless it's at the level of the national head guy in charge (who is invariably more an administrator and general manager than a subject matter expert). -
You're sicker than Nick.

All valid points, all have been discussed - sometimes very well. I'm looking at this point more to the recurring systemic problems. They are organizational in nature. Another way to look at things is that the players, and their performance on the field are the visible extension of the organization as a whole. There are a lot more support people than combat troops, people hear the name of the race car driver, but it takes a hundred people to put a competitive car on the track. Most of the threads here address which player(s) suck. I've seen some coaching comments (yes, baffles me too...) but anyone with more knowledge than me want to take some stabs on the organizational malaise this team suffers, and has suffered from for about 10 years now? I may not know football anywhere near as well as many of you, but I understand operations. This organization has many symptoms of a poorly run organization. I just want to see some consistency and some wins strung together enough to make a difference. There's something wrong in the office keeping that from happening. Edit. Good, we're going there. Carry on.

Doesn't fit the Bush Bad agenda. Now, it's political. I don't care what any media hacks or congresspeople have to say. I personally know what a cluster both LA and NO were by their own doing. Read the media wrong thread as a companion piece. This shidt pretty well just gets more and more disgusting. Who where is investigating LA or NO? I guarantee you that certain things cross the line into criminal negligence. Any Dem congressmen recommending that get looked at? This place will end up getting what it deserves, and FWIW Brown is taking the fall and I don't blame him for being pissed.

I can believe it. I guess I was thinking cast off and head up river.

Write it off. I'm not saying give up, but DON'T try to create stop gap measures in a bid to have some kind of playoff spot that you'll likely lose in the first or second round. Other teams are improving, we keep treading water. Win where you can, but for damn sake stick with something for a while. This team has more than a couple of holes. Bring in the football version of QA/QC and use the season as a laboratory. Figure out, REALLY figure out what the team needs to be successful. Start now planning to those goals, whether it be operations, personnel, whatever. We'll still likely go about 7-9 to 9-7 and who knows? But next year? No excuses. Unless this offensive line crap gets fixed, nothing else is going to happen. Interior D line acts like the revolving door at the mall. Fix it. We're good on receivers - no more speedy little draft choices. Staff - you wanted Losman, you got him. We've been screwed for several years with QB play. Whatever is wrong, fix it. Don't dance around it. Yup, once again, don't make dumb stopgap moves. It's about time 1BD really make an effort to round out the team. If quality has to be cut somewhere to bring another facet of the game up, cinch the belt and do it. I just have a concern that we will have another year of close, and should have beens, but barring a miracle they won't get there. Then, without the right kind of mindset, we'll have another off season of stop gap, mysterious and sometimes flashy moves to keep us right where we are. Power running game? Behind THAT line with a QB not fooling anyone? Anyone want more than 2 seasons out of WM? Scrambling, accurate QB with a rifle arm? Fix it.

And, you have no problem with how those innacurate portrayals undermine the credibility of so many people and organizations. Therein lies the real damage. The entire world was fed a steady diet of carnage in the streets because the administration didn't care. As with Koran stories, it's not a big "so what - profit" type of problem.
