AKC...get a grip, calm down, have a drink or whatever. It's a game, it's not our life - unless you are on the payroll. Put things in perspective. Think soft music, candles, slim toned warm inviting female thighs and soft, warm lush lips with bedroom eyes. If you still want to concentrate on Brady...well, maybe you do have an issue. It's only football.

And getting into the second, I even speak in tongues.

SO....I caught a little bit of Newt on Fox

Newt will never see the nomination. -
So, in your opinion man is the most "powerful" thing in the universe. No greater intellect. No greater reason. No greater vision, no greater wisdom. You (humankind) are the epitome of what can ever be. Science and evolution? Sure, it's there and makes sense, but how much do you think we don't know? We now have explanations for many of the processes, in so far as they are processes. I've yet to see a scientific answer for the synergy. It wasn't that long ago we could not explain gravity or magnetism, let alone the fundamentals of matter. Now, these forces are taken for granted. What is left to be discovered? Is it impossible to believe that one day a new universal force will be described - but lacks rational explanation, and for lack of a better name we might end up calling it God? What about beyond us? If we are so advanced and powerful, why waste the potential after only 60-80 years or so? Is this any form of efficiency? Not in any operation I've ever heard of. But, many will find it impossible to believe that we might have an existance beyond what we know now. I just personally find this outlook very egotistical, narrow minded and short sighted.

You really mean through a litre of Speyside, right? After a bottle of good scotch I understand most anything.

And that's just his LEFT leg. -
Or, you can put her into the wall coming out of 2.

And, some people call this having "pride". They have a LOT to learn. -
Ayuh... Looks like rain...

He doesn't have multiple personalities. He's pretty well always an !@#$. -
We live on a flat rock on the back of a giant turtle. Always have, always will.

What about people who die after paying in for many years before ever being able to draw any benefits? Does this just become free money for the government fund? My wife passed away at 42. Any money she paid in is gone. I don't want it - don't need it - but it seems that with a private account of some type a survivor might be able to cash in on it to help live through things at their retirement. I'm especially thinking of the loss of the primary income provider.

Teddy Kennedy helps rescue fisherman
Ghost of BiB replied to OnTheRocks's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's right, I keep forgetting that in Mickey's world there is absolutely no chance whatsoever of a liberal democrat ever being in the wrong. How long did it take him to get to his cronies and how long after that did it take anyone to report the accident? -

Double standards? It's apples and oranges. Everyone down to the janitor at Bellvue knows that if the name wasn't Kennedy, it would have been a manslaughter charge. -

Had to get the Laura shot in, didn't you? -
Oh my. What a shock!

BTW, you'll never, ever have the feeling you have right now again. Enjoy it.

I never got caught.

Ed...I'm really happy for you. Congrats, buddy. When it's the right one, nothing will keep you apart for long. And, everyone goes through some crap. You weren't ever really a horrible human being. Sorry I missed you guys when you were in Baltimore, maybe another time. I'll buy the champagne. Obviously? I hope so...I'd hate to see what would happen to one of your threads had she said no. Keep her away from telephone poles. If you ever have to explain any of that stuff, she'll change her mind and move to a convent.

Well, I just rolled in (yes, ghosts do sometimes go out on Friday nights, sometimes they even get lucky...not tonight, though). I too, appreciate that Fezmid has read at least SOMETHING, which is much more than many people do. I don't know about the choice of sources for this particular issue, but not for me to argue against trying to gain perspective. There may be similarities in IT security issues in terms of intent to disrupt, Chinese infiltration of government sites and the potential for widescale e-attacks come to mind, (Google "Titan Rain") but one also has to look at each group and their capabilities. We are talking about bad guys at football games. This is a pretty complicated subject and can not be adequately addressed here, in this type of forum. There's pros and cons to anything. That's what makes things so much fun and also promotes serious migraines. FWIW, I could make an argument to either side - but not for the same reasons. I personally like the idea of private business shouldering some more of the cost of physical security (and many do), in a country that promotes freedoms to everyone else in the world. I think it unreasonable to expect the "government" to handle everything. Securing your freedoms costs money. Hypothetically, if the gates at a sports stadium contained detectors for explosives and radiological materials but increased the cost for a ticket $18.00 per game would their be a fan backlash? Probably. The world has changed, and even if the threat is relatively low overall in most venues, 9/11 sort of proved that anything can happen anywhere, any time. In my opinion, just an opinion - people in this country need to realize that this is a different world now. Yes, it definitely is about cost vs. reward, how much cost are people willing to absorb? Out of our pocket? Not much. Even in something as simple as "time". We don't like the idea of an extra 30 minutes or whatever it is to get into a stadium for a football game, to the point where it is judged a penetration and violation of rights. OK. Whatever. The original debate was over a privacy suit over pat downs. This, to me says a lot more about the mentality and mind set of us than it does anything else.

I want something beyond a wild card, be competitive, please. It's been a while.
-
I hear you. I might have acted an ass tonight, but DAMN! Give me something, anything as a Bills fan. Don't have much. Don't expect much, either. But give me something. It's been too many years. Other teams can at least look competitive, we're kids with crayons.

I've never been a fan of Crispy Creme either, and apparantly my name is now Bob.

Nice shot. Dwarf. You're still wrong, BTW. You want to get into STRATCOM J-8 issues on the football board? That should be another PM! This should probably go PPP at this point anyway, or at least OT. If anyone really wants to discuss it. After all, we are talking the Bills and the Ralph. This could be an insurance liability thing for all I know. Not good to entertain personal philosophies on the main board unles it's football. This is not a football oriented subject, and not too many people here care. Nor, should they. People should be able to go to a football game and not have to think about these things at all. It just isn't that way any more, the world has changed. Maybe not to the day to day for most of us, but to the day to day for someone else.

They don't speak for me, I speak for me. I actually have people around here too that know something about me, some actual friends (yes, I have one or two, and I share a lot more with them than I would ever here), as does most anyone else posting. Were I to post something about internet security to you, based on what I read from my author of choice, I think you might call me out if you viewed the post from the perspective of someone working in the field, you could easily see the counter-argument. I didn't call you out, you basically called me an idiot because you read a book and a newsletter. You attacked my opinion and now you want to quit because someone has a different one from you. I still hope you enjoy the recipes. I really don't take this personally. I'm used to it. I'm just not a big media fan and I seriously question many books that are out there right now. If I weren't so lazy, I might write one. Why not? Someone would read it and quote it somewhere.
