You can run an M-1 on French perfume. It would be sort of expensive, though.

Redskins trying to get rid of Patrick Ramsey

I love you for your realism. Think 8-8 is too hopeful? -
Just a thought. Look at the world. It's easier to get rid of tanks than it is the fuel to feed them. I think you did a disservice to youself, by linking those arguments. But that's just me.

Part of my original post called Mickey a rambling fool, too. He's not rambling, neither is he a fool. But since I know that he actually has looked into the details of a lot of things, and knows better, I really have to question maybe not the arguments, but the motives and tactics. I think Mickey is a pretty smart guy, and as I said, is probably pretty well read on a lot of the issues. We've more than once traded tips on references. Mickey, if you are trying to present what it is YOU think about things, argue your interpretation of what you have learned and processed, don't "post links" and speak lawyer speak version of "Bush Bad", and insult our intelligence. Don't assume everyone here is stupidly uninformed, because they are not. You know exactly who are legitimate "adversaries", and who are not. I really don't think anyone is fighting you because you are "wrong", it's your presentation. A few years ago, I never figured you for one to pander to the masses. Just don't know why you are doing it now. Mostly not my business anyway, but you seem to have sunk to different tactics if someone doesn't agree with your POV, and you guise it in "I have to speak up for the downtrodden". Oh, BTW. I'm a Bush appologist neo-con war mongereror.

They are fans like anyone else. I think Ramsey had potential too, but "sort of knowledgeable" fans are concerned with what are you doing for me now. I have come to work many a Monday, and the first thing heard in the halls was "fuggin Ramsey". That said, I also believe that a true professional doesn't permanently lose their confidence over one set of circumstances. Plus, not everyone is as stoic, patient and cynical as a Bills fan. I don't think I'd take a chance on Ramsey right now, or any working #1 or #2 or #3 QB. If we need a 3, get a place holder, not another controversy. I don't even want to think about QB right now. Ole Marv has bigger fish to fry. Look at a QB in 2007. Get an 8-8 season in 2006, and sort it out from there. -

All I know is that there a lot of people in the DC area going "YAHOO", if that tells you anything. -
Well, I guess my hinting that Iraq is an example of a larger problem sort of slipped by. Once again, Iraq is being focused on only as Iraq without discussing the possible policy philosophies behind it. Pre-emption vs. reaction? Probably anyone can figure out that things aren't going well in Iraq. Why is open to a lot of arguments too. On the surface without even looking into it, it seems someone on our side really missed the boat on sectarian divisions, but I don't know. It could also be anticipated growing pains. Hasn't been that long. So, is maybe the real issue that we abandon a policy of trying to effect changes to our benefit in favor of reacting to changes caused by others without any attempt at influence? Mickey this, Mickey that. We all know his point, and the point of the post. Whatever. I think there are deeper issues that need to get figured out by us voters before the next elections. I personally think that the US is being pushed aside in many ways for a lot of reasons. It's been going on for years, and a lot of it centers on things going on in the middle east. I'm likely very wrong in my views in the earlier post, but even if I'm 25% right, we have a big problem. What are we going to do about it? Mickey? Any thoughts? Are we going to complain about now, or look ahead?

My appology, Mickey. I had no cause to say rambling fool. Sorry for that.

Pretty lame OpEd. You know that, you used to be better. I'm thinking the entire world is learning that with only a few moves and shifts, they can go a long way to marginalizing the US. I bet there are a whole lot of strange bedfellows out there. Sticking to the middle east, I really don't like where this is going - Israel is probably shitting purple right about now with Hammas, Iran and serious internal political issues as far as leadership. SU-25's or whatever aside, the Iranian BM capability is going to be absolutely frightening a couple years from now. This whole Iraq thing seems to be really backfiring. Saudi Arabia I think is slowly distancing itself from the US. Everyone in the region has their own interests and relationships with each other. It's not all about the US, as many Americans seem to think. Things are going to reach a boiling point in about 2 years. Excellent chance that we will have a Democratic administration that's going to base it's platform on the mistakes of this one, which is going to mean a totally different tack on dealing with the world. For that matter, I can see the same out of the Republicans. In my opinion, security concerns will be addressed by isolating ourselves from projecting any power and influence other than certain GWOT operations that no one sees or knows about. Security money will get put into Homeland Security/Defense type stuff that will appease the voter but be ineffective towards addressing the problem. And, no one is going to B word much, because there won't be any attacks on American soil, unless the attacker is really stupid. The attacks will be stepped up against American interests and Allies that also won't be too visible to the American press. They will though, force the wedge. Americans will feel safe while not realizing they are being contained. Europe is going to appease everyone, the only exceptions of note right now being Great Britain and Italy, and they will both have liberal leadership by the time this takes place. Blair is on his way out. Oil is still, and will be the currency. China's energy needs are multiplying at an exponential rate. They will be all over the middle east, with virtually no concerns that there is any real threat to mother China from anyone there. If nothing else, the geographics dictate that. They will also give the carrot with no stick to anyone who plays nice. I think Russia is well aware of that and that is pushing some of their current moves. This is the first administration I have seen since Reagan that has tried to implement policy with an eye on the world 10 years from now, not ten minutes from now. They seem to have seriously !@#$ed up in Iraq through poor execution. Sadly, that has colored the rest of it. Buddying up with India is probably too little, too late. If this sounds like rambling - I'm trying to squeeze a lot into one post just to get my base thoughts across. But, the situation is probably pretty obvious anyway. But, quote whoever. You and I used to have decent discussion. At what point did you shift to party hack and nut? Make an argument, Counselor. A real one. No links, no articles - your thoughts? I know you have them, but hide behing Buckley? Come on. Oh, BTW...I'm just a rambling fool.

And the world continues to turn. I really hope that this little episode has triggered some people to actually use Google for something beyond entertainment. There has been good discussion here. Are we maturing?
