Well said. one player will not make this team better.

EMo is going to rework his contract to stay and is showing MM and TD he can still play. The thing with JP will subside after the season. BTW both TD and MM are staying IMHO.

Pulling JP in Week 2 destroyed the Bills
nero47 replied to Outkast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
last year's best Olineman has been on IR almost all season, meaning he wouldn't have helped at all. our best Dlineman said give me the money and got run over by the steelers again. How do you think he would have done against this year's schedule of lines and runners. Not well i would think. -
This team has many problems, which are now being exposed: 1.) poor defensive planning. it would appear that gray has never looked at last year's films to figure out how to get off the field on third down plays. in watching the limited number of games this year, it's obvious to me that all third down blitzes attack the same part of the field (the center), allowing opposing offenses to bottle up our rush with fewer players, allowing for their Qb to pick us apart for long gains on third downs. Run stopping is not necessarily a factor of immovable objects, they can be isolated. it's easier to attack open gaps created by players not playing their assignments, making it easy to negate such a players effect. Good film study not only of the opponent, but also of each player to analyze his own play to see how he misread the play should be required. 2.) Offense is well scripted by the coaches for the now common approach used by SF in the walsh era. The problem is if you can script for 15 plays, you should script for 60plays, using a playbook that usually has more than 200 plays in it. learning these plays is what offseason and preseason is for. These plays should be geared to your offenses strengths and weaknesses. Other teams must do it because I usually see an OC on the other side of the field with a double sided sheet calling plays. 3.)

For the VERY few who do not want a HC change
nero47 replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given your line of thought, then the Patriots run at the present time is only a mirage, since they are playing a weak schedule filled with poor teams and young QB's in the second half of the season. They have little or no chance in the playoffs since they didn't do so well against the better teams in the first half of the season. -
I believe that moron was John Rauch. He wanted OJ to be another Foreman in Minnesota. It wasn't until Saban came in and built the electric company in front of Juice, that he started to really click. WM isn't the same type of back, Bush at USC is the OJ type. That said once WM gets a Line in front of him, I predict we will see 1600 and 1800 yard seasons from him.

The real truth is that the veteran players quit believing in the coaches plans after the third or fourth game of the season. In all of football it is necesaary for the players to buy in to the coaches plan of attack. IMHO it would appear that key players decided they knew more than the coaching staff. If every player ran the plays as drawn up, whether we think its good or not. These are plays done in practice, and designed to work against various defenses unless the defense outguesses the offense. Our players haven't been doing what is asked of them. First McGahee, looking for holes other than the initial one(ie dancing in the backfield), Sam Adams being a penetrator instead of run stuffer to tie up the line.(By slicing through each time, he can be moved where there offense wants, and that allows Offense line to move downfield to block linebackers for long gains), and now Moulds determining what plays we should run, or how hard he'll run a particular play.(last part was only conjecture, I did not see game here in daytona). In summary it would appear that this is Mularkey's way of saying right or wrong do it our way. If we win 2 out 4 he'll be back. If not he'll be gone. i wouldn't write off Adams or Moulds, Leaving may very well be up to them. EM has about 3-4 more good years as a possession type receiver. I would try to restructure hi contract to 4 years with a bonus and guarantee of 11 million regardless of whether or not he gets to year 3 or 4.( 4mil bonus - 4 years for 4.5 per) His choice of whether or not to stay.

Moulds to be suspended for rest of season
nero47 replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This may have been the final straw of a season filled with them. Case in point, Stories coming out that the veterans would play harder for KH than JP. Therefore the change to KH with wins resulting over poor teams. If memory serves EM was one of those vets. In Sunday's game, we started out like a house of fire, then apparently something happened that boiled over into what we have today. Em has been a great receiver for a number of years, but if he truly believes in the Bills first, he would adhere to the game plan as devised during the week. Hopefully we will get the whole story eventually. -
This team has not been better with these players on the field. Sorry. 4-8 doesn't cut it. Defense can't stop anyone, and offense doesn't move the football after the first quarter.

Wed. Buff News - Allen Wilson Reports..

Where is the link. Found nothing on web page. -
Sounds like EM and MM have talked and come to some sort of agreement. We won't know what til the season is over. However, watch EM's play this week. I'll bet we seem a demon, especially if he is thinking about leaving. Side note: If he leaves he'll be starting with another QB all over again, unless he goes to the cowboys.

Two Reasons Why We Should Sign Nate C.
nero47 replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i honestly don't see TD making the decisions after this season. Ralph will either give him a position with no power or show him the door. But then looking around the league, where do you find a good available GM. -
There are positives and negatives to take
nero47 replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Concerning DL, it wasn't stopping the run yesterday, it was about pressuring the QB in the second half. MM Playcalling won't work at all until this OL learns its responsibilities, A line that can't run block or pass block won't help any kind of playcalling. BTW on JP's int yesterday, that play was called in three other games and worked 2 out of 3. It's not just the playcalling, its the execution. -
Firing Donahoe won't fix the real problem!
nero47 replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I don't think at this point that MM is the problem. outside of a lousy year and ineptness at certain positions, the players know that if they execute properly they can be very competitive. In fact that is what they have been saying all year. Yesterday is a perfect example of a team defense that blew it because they quit executing. our strength is supposed to be pass defense. We forced them to pass and they drilled it down our throats. As to TD. in retrospect he has made a number of decisions that did not work out period. personnel wise he should have gotten Corey Simon, after losing PW and seeing that Edwards wasn't going to cut it. IMHO Polian grabbing Simon for this years colts, is similar to when he got Bennett for the Bills. These are the decisions that winning GM's make. They help their coaching staff, not let them get crucified with marginal talent. -
moulds will be offered a renegotiation by the new GM. it will contain a bonus provision to lessen the blow of what he might otherwise lose. The new contract will probably be for three years. i would structure $ 7mil yr 1, 4.5 mil yr 2 , 3 mil yr 4. Bonus 6mil amortized 1, 2, 3 mil. avg. 6+ mil per yr. Don't know if the figures work with current contract, but IMHO this would save cap space and keep Eric. Overall his on field coaching attitude with younger players is enormous.
-
i like Moulds, always have, but he is a Pro. If he took himself out of the game without good reason(ie injury) that is unconscionable.
-
Touche. However, he has never been one not to call for the ball. Something is fishy here, no pun intended.

Question for those who heard the post game
nero47 replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another blown assignment by a veteran. Why is that not a surprise. After the number of years these guys have played, How can you not know your assignment? -
Why isn't Moulds talking? He knows he may be leaving, that's why, or He knows he was wrong. But when he was in the game late he still didn't provide the spark needed. Was that because he felt he was dissed?
-
And why do you think that was? Not because of his play recently. There more to this than meets the eye. I suspect Moulds was trying to run the offense again.
-
Right on most counts except the fins stopped running at halftime. Most teams now realize its easier and quicker to pass your way down the field over Nate"show me themoney" clements.
-
leadership. In games like this veterans suck it up, start screaming about tough play, etc, etc ,etc!!!!!! our bills don't have it. Did we really expect the playoffs? maybe, maybe not, but we did expect to win games like this after a great start. Up 21-0 their QB should be watching the Blue sky every play. They are not going to run to get back in the game. Our Vets like moulds, Fletcher, and others should quit disappearing and start making big plays. I think today we started preseason for next year. Did anyone else notice the number of non starters moving in and out.

Positives from the game today.....
nero47 replied to airhunter11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team is cooked . I can't see us winning another game this season. Nobody on this team will be able to put this one behind them. -
Coaches don't play. McGahee can't run when its neede and receivers can't catch. Defenders look stupified. This game should have been 40+ to less than 10. IMHO
-
Coaches don't play on the field . patehtic playmakers like clements and moulds and mcGahee do. Buffons . At almost 60 i'd do a better job.
