  1. Probably, but there were some neo-nazis bombing nightclubs not long ago to incite violence against gays. Wouldn't a similar approach incite violence against muslims. Although unlikely, it is possible.
  2. I think that is the crux of it. In Japan they had the Aum Shinrikyo Cult that gassed the subways. "Doomsday Cult" was more fitting than the appelation terrorist. Terror was not their goal. Killing people to precipitate the end times was. Although I think we know. We don't know for sure who did this stuff in England.
  3. I would agree, but I was told by a Muslim that does not sympathize with acts of terror this little gem. I paraphrase: "Even if one does not agree with them, there is a type of reasoning that is relentlessly logical. Your Country has tried to kill Saddam Hussien and Quaddafi because they are the sovereigns in those countries. But in a democracy the people are sovereign. Therefore it is as just to kill people in a democracy as it is for you to remove the soveriegn of a tyranny. " Of course he did not agree with this, but I found the logic a bit haunting. He worked for a Malaysian newspaper.
  4. If Ted Nugent had a stiffer Penalty for this guy I would consider voting for him.
  5. I think, in all seriousness, that it is just the BBC with it's worldwide audience. They don't want to call it a terrorist act, because Scotland Yard has not made a definite determination, and if it is a group other than the one claimed, it may not be associated with the GWOT. I think they may have learned a little from Spain's hasty proclamations. The Pundits and Government will eventually label the action.
  6. I like this thread. It is nice and warm here, the food is nice, and the questions aren't too hard. Wait, is this the Hotpocket thread, I was looking for the.....
  7. Thanks It is coming back now.
  8. especially the suicide "bombers"* *I have only used the term bombers for the purpose of brevity
  9. Who made this guy as scholar? I want to see credentials.
  10. Your right, as long as it doesn't hurt their esteem, I guess I'm okay with it.
  11. Hmmm. Wonder what would clear the old plumbing quicker... a high fiber Hot Pocket, or a Retatta?
  12. For a BM in the AM eat a PR in the PM. There's gotta be a market.
  13. Hell, the drugs wouldn't count him out. I am talking about Damn Yankees. The Night Ranger, Styx, Nugent super band of the 80's. "In 1989, the combination of Night Ranger's Jack Blades, Styx's Tommy Shaw, the motor city madman Ted Nugent, and a young power drummer Micheal Cartellone formed the rock band Damn Yankees. These rock idols went double-platnuim on their debut self-titled album." Listen to the album and tell me if you could vote for this man in good conscience.
  14. You're right. But "displeased" is too much of a value judgement. They may be happy people on the inside.
  15. This man is un-electable. He has skeletons in the closet that he will never be able to live down. Damn Yankees.
  16. I scored a 2. but I am still wondering what: Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream. means.
  17. I know Ian Hunter was in Mott the Hoople, and I know there was a time when I was a Mott the Hoople fan. But I can't remember any Mott the Hoople songs. Damn I'm getting old.
  18. Maybe we can get to a point where we all agree that "Civilian Collateral Demolition Artist." is the preferred term.
  19. Maybe I could have a punditry career (no thanks.) Hard to know what happened at this point, Grand Jury testimony should be sealed. But Rove has proved he knows how to play nasty and anything he might have done doesn't surprise me. This is the man that made.......the primaries about McCain's black baby and made the 2004 election about gays. That doesn't convict him, but he did also declare open season on Plame.
  20. Instead of naming Plame, he said it was Wilson's wife. Sorta gives him plausable deniability. Very "Clintonesque."
