blargo replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill was right on the trade down. He called it, our 1st for their 1st and 3rd this year and their 1st next year. Good trade. -

Keeping Tyrod Taylor shows who's in charge in Buffalo
blargo replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you listened or read the McDermott interview after TT's renegotiated contract he said that TT was insulted by the benching. McDermott then said he talked with TT and he had to get over that and apperently TT did just that and that TT wanted to be in Buffalo... -
Wawrow did refute, but if you read what he wrote I think that it confirms what was written. Wawrow reported no decision yet on TT, where LaCanfora wrote McD comfortable with TT and Whaley and Brandon are not. Wawrow says chasm report over blown LaCanfora says is pretty big. This seems like the same thing just different degrees.

Thanks Scott!!!!!! I read daily and post monthly. Been here for awhile, plan to stay!!!!

McDermott New HC per JLaCan - new jw tweets re: Whaley & TT

Lets look at the games this year where if we had any kind of D we would have won. First Miami, we had 2 score lead in the 3rd. Seattle, O moved up and down the field, with a good D we win regardless of the officiating. Oakland, we start the 3rd Q with 2 unanswered TD's and then D totally collapses. 2nd Miami game, D just kept giving up big drives and then the big play. So 7-9 turns to 11-5 just with those games. 11-5 gets us into the playoffs. -

No his theory is not to dump a starter that is average and not a turnover machine. Tyrod's performance should show that we still need a QB, but do not get rid of what you have for the unknown. -

That is not totally true. Tyrod is not a turnover machine. How many Int's and fumbles did you shake you head and say should not have made that throw? Most of the ints were great plays by DB's. Not having many turnovers keeps your team the game and if you have a great D changes field position. Run game was awesome this year and Tyrod does get some credit for that as do the other backs, McCoy and TD Mike in particular, but do not exclude Felton and the O-Line. If we move on from Tyrod and do not make a huge trade to get some functional QB expect a season worth of games like the last Jets game, regardless of any improvement in D. -

Agreed. They went to the playoffs that year as the division winner with an 8-8 record. So I would call that backing into the playoffs. With Brady in the division do we see the Pats going 7-9 so we could back in with 8-8, I think not. -
The Writing Is On The Wall for The Gilly Lock
blargo replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we tag or pay him I think the new coaching staff would have to hold him accountable. If they do I bet we will not see a repeat. If they act like Rex, that is what you see. -

While Gilmore is no Revis he is also no Byrd. So team will offer big money and get a real good corner who will play for many years. -

3 College coaches named as potential NFL coaching targets
blargo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw McIntire work his magic here in Colorado. He did a resurrection project in San Jose State before Colorado. When he came to Colorado, the football program was almost dead last in every stat there was and games were over in the first Q. The program was in terrible shape. His first 3 years not many Pac12 wins but the team was getting more and more competitive, they were in games into the 4th Q and just could not close them out. Now this year he was 8-2 in conference and 10-3 overall, the 3 losses were at Michigan, at USC and Washington is PAC 12 championship game. He had the same kind of success at San Jose State but did it in 1 fewer years. Can this translate to the NFL? Both San Jose State and Colorado do not get a ton of blue chip talent when they recruit, but he does find kids that can play. I would be up for giving him a chance. -
I agree, if I told you ahead of time that Big Ben would be 17-31 for 220 with 0 TD's and 3 ints, you would have loved our chances. Yet were we even close? The on-side kick at then end just felt so Bills, I was laughing at that point.

We Should Pick Up the Option on Tyrod No Matter What
blargo replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Tyrod Taylor should be in the mix for QB next year, but we need to open the starting position to whoever we can get. Let Jones compete, lets a draft pick compete, let a free agent compete. No blind loyalty to TT, he has not earned it. Lets get the best QB possible and work from there. I am under no illusions that TT is the answer, or that we could get a franchise QB from free agency. What do we have in Jones? We should draft a QB in the draft, 1st or 2nd round and see what we have. Rebuild the D, find good coaching and conditioning, continue to look for a QB. -
No need for 10 cents for this one. 5 will do it

Schwartz's HC tenure is a mixed bag. He did takeover a winless Detroit and get them into the playoffs in 3 years, after that the wheels fell off. So does he deserve a second chance? I think that depends on what he learned from his first stint. If he learned nothing, then no. Did he get a fair interview 2 years ago, when they decided not to offer him the position? Was it too close to his Detroit firing? Clearly the Bill's D played for him, and while we had a great year on D, there were a couple of games that they did not play where we needed them, Oakland come to mind, while others where I thought we had no chance and they played lights out, Green Bay. Rex and Rob need to go, today or Jan 2nd really does not matter to me. This season is lost again, regardless how we finish against 3 quarterback less teams. We could not win a meaningful game all year. -
GDT: Bills vs. Steelers 1st Half Thread
blargo replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No my fault, I am wearing my Bills sweat pants. -
Yes, the team that would have screwed us was KC and they appear to be going for the division or the first wildcard. If we win this weekend, and that is a big if we do sit well. Cleveland after that and Miami would be another big game. If we lose to Pittsburgh this weekend, I think the team will know they are out of it and we could lose to Cleveland.

This one is surprising, since we are the top rushing team in the league. You would think with the rushing that would lead to big TOP surplus in our favor.

Sammy Watkins has a chance to come back and be a hero
blargo replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not be surprised if Watkins is in for 10-15 plays on Sunday as they ease him in. -
I think I am agreeing with you. Tied with KC is our worse case. Note sure if say KC, Denver, Pitt, Miami and Buffalo are all 10-6 what happens.
