  1. A tight end needs to be able to block. Do you see Maybin blocking anyone?
  2. Didn't that happen under Williams? And I'd give more credit to Bill Polian for bringing this team up from nothing.
  3. When was the last time you were unhappy with a Bills pick?
  4. Whitner was offered a contract and Nix tried to keep Poz. Outside of that, Edwards was shell shocked and never recovered, Maybin was a bust. Lynch was caught in a numbers game. Trading Evans was a mistake in my opinion.
  5. Was he responsible for the entire decade? No, but he was a big part of it. His drafts were disasters. Only 1 of the 7 players he drafted in rounds 1-3 are still on the team and that player, McCargo, is a bust who is iffy to even stay make the roster. Passing over Ngata for Whitner was a harbinger of the poor decision he made hiring Jauron from the Matt Millen managed Detroit Lions. Jauron had a big hand in the pathetic drafts of 2008 and 2009, so Marv's biggest decision, picking a head coach, had horrible consequences long after he left. Marv Levy wasn't responsible for the entire decade. It is right to respect him for what he did as a coach in getting this team to 4 consecutive Super Bowl appearances, but he was a disaster as a GM.
  6. How about a safety? Have to replace Donte somehow.
  7. Detroit has had a few good drafts under its belt since they fired Matt Millen. They are a team on the rise. I'd expect Washington to be a bit less of a circus without Haynesworth, but not a huge improvement. Don't know enough about what the other teams have done.
  8. Oh I'd say Ted Washington was a pretty big part of the base. The Bills have a history of drafting poorly and then not keeping what the few players who actually show good talent. As long as that continues, this team will struggle to maintain mediocrity. I don't see how such a talent poor team so far under the cap can so undervalue a means of obtaining talent.
  9. More than we've even played in since they left.
  10. If the Bills had always taken this approach, we never would have had Ted Washington, Chris Spielman, Bryce Paup or Takeo Spikes, just to name a few.
  11. Fletcher is a team leader that stays on the field. Poz is not a team leader and is injury prone.
  12. I guess that might be important if the Bills were on the verge of greatness this year, but they are not. If there was a franchise QB available, they should have grabbed him. Even the best available ones had huge question marks this year.
  13. So what is the point of scouting southern high schools instead of colleges in the north and west? To avoid 1st round busts?
  14. So it is a good thing that the Bills were so easy to score against, otherwise Spiller couldn't rack up those returning yards?
  15. Actually I was going by rushing yards, number of carries, yards per carry, longest play from scrimmage, TDs, and games started. I don't see how that crumbles.
  16. So far Ryan Mathews is looking better than CJ Spiller.
  17. Anyone who wouldn't draft any of those players has no business running an NFL team. Most of those players went to high school in the same state as the college they attended.
  18. Hasn't Spider-Man been canceled yet?
  19. I would say that the expectations for Locker are far lower than for Leaf. If you can set aside the regional issue, I'd say that Luck is more similar to Manning that to Leaf. He could have cashed in but stayed in college to get an education and further develop as a player. I'm not sure what you consider to be the South East. Where are the dividing lines? South of the Mason Dixon line and east of the Mississippi? If so, Houston is in the west. Here are some people that you would not consider based on your regional approach. Tom Brady Drew Brees Sam Bradford Ndamukong Suh Brian Orakpo Clay Mathews Darrelle Revis Haloti Ngata Nick Mangold Ben Roethlisberger Larry Fiztgerald Dwight Freeney Pat Williams Tony Boselli Orlando Pace Thurman Thomas Andre Reed Barry Sanders Steve Young Dan Marino John Elway Joe Montana OJ Simpson Sounds like a good plan?
  20. That Andrew Luck guy can't play. He plays out West. :wallbash:
  21. Plenty of teams have won with the 4-3. If you don't have the right talent, your scheme doesn't matter. When you draft the Donte Whitners of the world over Haloti Ngatas, the Aaron Maybins over the Brian Orakpos or draft John McCargos, it doesn't matter what your scheme is, you are going to suck.
  22. Why not fit the scheme to the players they inherited and draft accordingly?
