I'm simply saying that I haven't heard an issue with albuterol until you raised it. Why is that so difficult for you to understand?
-
What? You brought up something that hasn't been mentioned in this thread at all and haven't even heard of. How do you expect me to have an opinion? Be a good boy and start a thread about albuterol and Wuhan with your opinions. Maybe I will look at it.
-
I really don't know anything about that. Maybe you should start a thread about it.
-
Thanks for the link. Having viewed the video, I have less problem with what Harris said than what I read. A common complaint is that this drug is not proven effective on Covid-19 and Trump's touts create hoarding by people who don't need these drugs and shortages for those who need it for Lupus or arthritis. Sorry you were to lazy to understand the last 10 pages.
-
I called him a snake oil salesman so, no, I object to him repeatedly touting this drug and downplaying the side effects even when Doctors appearing with him won't support his assertions and offer cautions.
-
I'm not arguing just to argue. You accused me of repeatedly bringing this up. I brought this up one time in this thread. GG doesn't bother to read links that he has posted I simply asked him to back up his assertion in his own link. Have a good nigjht. Quite the contrary. I'm not an expert on medication. Nobody in this thread is.
-
I agree that they are morons. That doesn't change the fact the Trump repeatedly downplays the negative side effects of the drug and that will influence people, particularly those who ignore the MSM. I didn't see a video. I read an article. Nowhere did I see a prominent politician object to trials on this drug or compassionate use of this drug. Please provide a direct quote.

Keep returning to it? Its the first time I've mentioned it in this thread.
-
Doc, Chef Jim to name a couple.
-
Hold your pee for a Wii? Yeah I remember that. This is a bit different though isn't it? People have over dosed and aquarium cleaner in large part because Trump downplays the risk. It can lead to shortages of the drug for people with other conditions who could really benefit from the drug. From what few, contradictory studies I've read, this might be effective for not seriously ill people but ineffective for seriously ill people. I think that is part of why Fauci and Birx don't wholly endorse this drug. And contrary to what Doc has said, it isn't the only potential treatment out there. The people I'm arguing with seem to believe that if you don't cast all caution aside, you want people to die, to damage Trump;
-
Why don't you ask that of Doc, Chef Jim and everyone else who has taken me to task? I don't consider myself to be on the left but I think that is the opinion of most people, even on the left. The problem from my point of view is that if you aren't willing to cast all caution aside, you are simply against Trump.

If a doctor and patient discuss the fact that the drug is not proven to be effective and they review the potential side effects and both agree to give it a try, go for it.
-
Dude - you are trying to make this confrontational, not me. If you get Covid-19 and your Doctor prescribes this to you, fine. I hope you get well. As to your last question, this drug simply has not bee proven to be effective on Covid-19. Covid-19 did not exist before. I hope this drug works out. I really do. But this drug, alone or in combination with azithromycin have dangerous side effects. I posted some to the cautions earlier from this link https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/mayo-clinic-cardiologist-inexcusable-ignore-hydroxychloroquine-side-effects-n1178776 I've read a bit about this drug and Covid-19 and if it is effective, it seems to be so for people with few symptoms that in people who are seriously ill. That is one of the reasons why trials are important. This drug may well be effective early in the illness but dangerous once people get seriously ill. Why not find that out? I just feel that I am reacting to people who are casting all caution aside in pursuit of a magic bullet that may not be a magic bullet. You know, most people recover from this illness without hydroxychloroquine.
-
Why is that a problem? It does have lethal side effects.
-
Who is being obtuse? The general feeling I get from those posting here is plow right ahead without studies. Anecdotal evidence is enough. I'm simply saying perform the studies and if doctors want to give it on a compassionate basis fine. Why is that a problem?
-
Yeah, I posted that earlier.
-
I said quite some time ago that it was an unfair and impossible question to answer. If you think otherwise, prove it. You tell me how many people have died from this drug.
-
Pretty much like you.
-
Well even the the doctors who appear with Trump express some skepticism so the media's skepticism is understandable.
-
I'm sure they might take it themselves, but there is a reason for double blind studies. People aren't ncecesarily objective. I've never said I want others to die. You and your ilk try to put those words in my mouth. Sorry that your links don't support your POV. Who has presented proof? I'm happy to look at it.
-
No blinders. I'm a research engineer by training and expect proof.
-
Sure, go right ahead. I've seen very little from doctors of medicine supporting this treatment. Mostly it has come from Trump, Fox News and their marks.
-
I admitted that a long time ago, which doesn't change the fact that the drug has lethal side effects From one of the links you provided " Dr. Megan Ranney, an emergency room physician and researcher at Brown University, echoed these remarks in a subsequent interview. She said the president’s advice to Americans made her “nervous” and there is, in fact, a “lot to lose.” “This medication has major side effects including paranoia, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, suppression of your blood counts so that you become more susceptible to infections. It can cause severe cardiac arrhythmias that can even cause death,” she said. “They are not common side effects, but they are common enough that this should not be taken willy-nilly. It is not like water, it is not harmless, and it may have major side effects.” She said she expected results from clinical trials for the drug to come through in as soon as a month or two." I'll take the her word over yours.
-
It is a similarly impossible question to answer, as I said quite a while ago.
-
How many people who died of Covid-19 would have been saved if only they had Hydroxychloroquine?
