Guess we shouldn't use sunscreen or sunblock. -

Does anyone know how I can inject myself with a tanning bed to kill the virus from the inside out? I can't find a big enough syringe. -

NYC residents spend more time in confined areas is my guess. More time in elevators, subways, trains, taxis etc. DC hasn't peaked yet. Several crew members spent time at a hotel where a couple of British Tourists had the virus. Although all crew members who went to that hotel were quarantined aboard ship, people didn't know enough about the disease and it would appear that Vietnam had wider transmission than they knew. -

What does that have to do with lack of funding over the last 1-15 years? -

If Magox posts a link to support his POV, it should support his POV. If something 20 minutes before or after was said that adds context to the link that didn't support his POV, then he should provide it. If you know of something that happened 20 minutes before or after that adds context to the link, then you should provide it. That seems pretty basic to this type of board. I didn't look for it because I watched the link that Magox provided. Also I've watched Fauci quite a bit, including full news conferences where Trump provides lies and misinformation, and I have never seen him come close to saying we are ready for phase 1. Everything seems to be guidelines to determine whether or not a state is ready for phase 1. That is something that will happen in the future. If you have something with him saying otherwise, please provide it. -

So what did he say 20 minutes before or 20 minutes after that would change my mind? I do want to take things in full context. Why shouldn't I take issue with a link that someone else posted? I've seen a lot of Fauci talking and he just seem far more circumspect that you or Magox seem to think. -

"I believe they can, we will have and there will be enough tests to allow us to take this country safely through phase one". Yeah, that's what I am hung up on. Future vs present text. I'm not buying your spin. -

If the masks were replenished 10 years ago, they would have been thrown away 5 years ago as they have a 5 year shelf life. Obviously math isn't your strong suite. -

10 years ago! That is laughable. What about the intervening years under GOP control? -

Looks like you don't understand who controlled which houses when, what they proposed for funding versus what the Executive Branch requested -

Fauci didn't say we are ready for Phase 1. He listed what was necessary for Phase 1. -

Here is Magox's quote Where exactly did Fauci say we were ready for phase 1? Magox couldn't answer it and I'm sure your can't either. -

The Republicans controlled the House from 2011 - 2019. Facts suck. -

The materials in the stockpile have life spans. For the N95 mask, that is 5 years. Republicans controlled both houses over that time when Obama was president and Trump asked for less than was appropriated. Facts suck. -

The N95 mask has a shelf life of 5 years. Given the amount of time Trump has been in office, this supply should have been pretty much replenished. HHS under the Obama administration had a contract to produce 1.5 million masks per day. It died under Trump. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/federal-government-spent-millions-to-ramp-up-mask-readiness-but-that-isnt-helping-now/2020/04/03/d62dda5c-74fa-11ea-a9bd-9f8b593300d0_story.html There was also a contract to produce low cost ventilators. You're just trying to pin the blame on anyone other than the person who presides over this problem. -

And the Republican majority congress under those years repeatedly authorized lower amounts of funding than the Obama Administration requested. Where did a bunch of those Tea Party Republicans end up? In the Trump Administration. -

Partially because it was shortchanged for years. It would have been further shortchanged it Trump actually got what he asked for. Congress gave him more. The Federal Government is responsible for repleting it. -

George W Bush. Bill Gates Barack Obama HHS Secretary Alex Azar I think I am being fair in saying that the Bush and Obama administrations, well let's say any administration, would have been overwhelmed by this pandemic. But I am not convinced that any previous administration would have been as bad as Trump. It is still a fact that the HHS asked for $2 billion on Feb 5 for PPE and ventilators and that was cut by 75% by the White House, Trump vastly low balled a $2.5 billion estimate for response on Feb 25, and all of January, February and early March was filled with happy talk, it is all under control it will go away with the heat in April, my rallies are safe...
