Thats interesting you say that about the steak and fish. Tops has the top grade meats and they have real certified butchers that actaully cut the meat fresh in store. Wegmans, on the other hand, does not! All of their meat is chopped, cut and packaged off site and then distributed to the stores. The meat is packaged with chemicals and sealed then distributed, then the store "butchers" (actaully just associates in white coats), break the meat out and put it in the case The perception that Wegmans has better, fresher meat is a perceputal fallacy. I know this may sound crazy to people, but it is true...

i see your point, but that is 3 years old... Tops has made strides and is in the process of doing even more. New ownership and a huge overhaul. Every store is going to be conscious of the neighborhood they are in and carry products that people there want. No longer a corporate afterthought ran by some offshore grocery monster. theres been some really interesting articles written recently, ill try to find them.

With all the food retailers, top 50 is pretty good. We just happen to have 2 top notch grocery stores in the same region. However, I would like to see a more up to date one...a lot can change in 3 years. Tops has climbed i bet, they have made some significant changes since that consumer report.

i for one, like to shop at Tops I take full advantage of the Gas program (every $100 spent saves you 10 cents a gallon). so if you have a family and are spending $100+ a week like me, when its time to fill up you get like 50 or 60 cents off per gallon. With gas prices the way they are, how could you shop anywhere else? It may not be as fancy as Wegmans, but who really cares? Dont you just want to get your groceries and get out? By the way, its locally owned again and bringing jobs to the WNY community. Ill stick with Tops

peter king has restrictions by his current job and he could no longer be on the show regularly...this was according to peter king last summer sometime. Obvious schoop is an ass, however most of you still tune in and listen and hear the ads so they are doing their job...right? Its their job to lead very opinionated conversations and express differences of opinion. The best way to do that is step on people's toes and get them interested in a discussion. Yeah, they beat hockey to death...but some people are interested in it (obviously not the majority of people on this board) They should, however, mix in topics about college sports like you said..would definitely increase local college popularity. Its just sports talk radio people...lets relax!...if you hate it, then just stop listening..a ratings drop will change their tune.
