  1. Of course it's OK to have a different opinion, and feel free to give it an F. I also have the right to say your opinion seems very uninformed, which it is IMO. But 40% of the country likes the President too, and I think their views-- which they are plainly entitled to-- are massively ignorant too. That's what is great about this country, everyone gets to have an opinion no matter how misguided, and I get to have an opinion on other people's opinions.
  2. That's nonsensical. You said the first two picks were just "OK" just because they are "safe"-- as you define it. You suggest outstanding pass rushing interior lineman can never be great picks-- like Arnold Donald? Plainly you just want to pout because you did not get the Red Ryder BB gun you wanted, but please don't spout nonsense.
  3. This topic is an excellent observation. This really is Moneyball. With the exception of Morse, these are all relative value signings, no big splashes but lots of very good players(according to most accounts) at reasonable prices with reasonable contract lengths. We'll see if it works, but it is the antithesis of going for the ABs and Bells of the world. I personally love it, but we will see how it turns out. 22 wins in a row like the Oakland As?
  4. Nailed it.
  5. I can't believe we passed on Watson. What a miss.
  6. This 20 year old will be a stud in a year or two. His natural talent is amazing. Those weeping and nashing that he is not good will soon stop worrying, even if it requires conceding they were wrong about this kid.
  7. Had club seat season tix for about 10 years. They are great. Heaters will make it feel like about 65 given the weather today, but you have to be up at least about 4-5 rows to get the benefits. Inside club, it's more like being at a hockey game. Warm and fairly civilized. Nothing snooty about it at all, just a more pleasant way to see a game, especially in December. People make plenty of noise. Have fun!!!
  8. I agree. And the arguments about his resume would apply equally to Nick Foles 18 months ago. No reason Barkley could not do the same thing here as Foles in Philly. If he does half as much, he's a fine backup.
  9. Very close. Hopefully not incontrovertible.
  10. I agree with you. Don't understand the non-love for Edmunds. He's a freak. Yes. Might have to take a one year deal now.
  11. Not really. but that does not mean they will not say they want him at 105% before sending him back out there. Just my opinion.
  12. Allen is not going to be declared "fully healthy" for Jax IMO. He may be healthy enough to back up Barkley. He will be healthy for sure by week 14.
  13. Nice job. Keeping traditions going is important. And you do it with style!
  14. We should always take the best player based on after the fact performance. Easy.
  15. But that's meaningless. He may show"more advanced NFL QB skills" at this early juncture, but his 44 QB rating on Thursday shows that even with those "advance skills" he is not much good at this point. His third grade reading skills compared to Allen's second grade skills tells me nothing about who might win a Pulitzer in 2025. No predictive value at all. If you are saying his floor is a little higher than Allen, it says nothing about the ceiling, which is all that matters in the long run. Look I understand you prefer Rosen to Allen, and I'm sorry you did not get your way. But the rest of this is just rationalizations, though maybe someday you will be able to see McBeane in an unemployment line somewhere and gleefully tell them "I told you so." It will be cathartic.
  16. People see what they want to see.
  17. Of course not. No one does. But many have and continue to claim Rosen is superior, based on no facts. They preferred Rosen and that's that. If Allen ends up in the HOF and Rosen is bagging groceries in 2021, it will be because McCoy ruined him or some such thing. None of the rookies look great-- hardly surprising at this juncture. But for everyone other than Allen, "it's let see how it turns out." For Allen the view is he was always going to be a bust, and he has busted. Double standard.
  18. To zoneabb--I think you are missing the point. Neither Allen nor Rosen have lit the world up, they look like rookies. But the "we should have taken Rosen over Allen crowd" contend that Rosen's performances thus far, compared to Allen, somehow validate their position. Last night is evidence that is clearly untrue. Reality is that the jury is out on both of them. But those that say it has been demonstrated that that we should have taken Rosen are presenting "alternative facts." Such is the state of discourse in the age of Trump. Just make stuff up to support your preordained conclusion.
  19. Good points. They were in a bad QB situation for years. Fans largely hated Tyrod. What alchemy were they going to perform to fix it in one off season. They drafted a QB hopefully through the long term. In the meantime they were going to muddle through. That's what is happening now. Some great alternative to Allen did not exist, except in people's imaginations.
  20. I understand, but I think that is just silly. Having him throw 40 times every games and getting pounded into the ground often is not the only way to develop him. Baby steps. Keep him upright. Win some games. He learns just by being out there. Winning builds confidence. Better than holding a clipboard, which would have been optimal but we have no other viable QB.
  21. It is. This team is exactly what it looked like it would be. The Bills had very limited off-season resources because of the dead cap issues. What resources they had they spent on defense. Then their two best O-Line players retire. No money to replace them. So the team has a good defense and an atrocious offense. Allen is doing fairly well under bad circumstances. But he is not getting pounded into the ground so far, so hopefully he avoids the Trent Edwards fiasco. He has shown better mobility than I expected, has a great positive attitude, and is smart. And his arm is one of the best I have ever seen. I like the idea of Anderson coming in to help coach him up. The Bills never were going to win an SB this year. Frankly 2-3 with this schedule is as good as I could hope for. If they get to 3-4, that would be great. So long as they can avoid Allen getting killed either mentally or physically, developing him in a nothing to lose thrown into the fire season will pay dividends long term, as this kid has the make up to survive this year. And if he does, lots of resources for next season to fix the line, add a real #1 receiver, and a good CB to pair with White outside. It's clear what the plan is. Losing Wood and Incognito really through this year into turmoil, and the receivers were always a problem-- although I am liking Jones a whole lot more. Next year this team could be bona fide good.
  22. No kidding. In Washington, a kid like Allen driving the team to a last minute win and he would be hailed as a future hall of famer. On this board, many have decided he is a bust. It's absurd. 4 games.
