  1. Totally agree. Not playing in a major college program, Josh never got any real coaching until he hit the NFL-- same is true for Oliver. That's why he was a project as he had no real training to play the most difficult position in sports. Given where he started, the kid has made remarkable strides, and I can't understand how some people can't see this. I've watched this team for 45 years, and I know a fraud from the real deal, and Allen is the real deal. His athletic ability, combined with his intelligence, determination to win, heart and charisma give him everything he needs to be great. For those that can't see that, you will eventually. He'll be more than good enough to win a SB if the rest of the team has sufficient talent. I know we live in a world of instant results and gratification, but that's not how it was ever going to be with Josh.
  2. Yeah, but the whole division has largely the same schedule. Wild card spots are for losers, need to win the division and 2020 should be the year.
  3. According to Kubiak, the kill to the run at the end of the 1/2 was the right call and would have been a big gain but there was a missed block that blew up the play. FWIW.
  4. It was a great playoff game and a tough loss. Best game of weekend from entertainment perspective IMO. Change anyone of about 10 things and Bills win-- of course Houston might say the same if we won because the game was that close. I'll try to take the what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger view. Maybe this stinging loss is what they needed to become a championship team down the road. You learn in adversity, not success. They were not good enough to win it all this year anyway IMO. So maybe this is short term extreme pain for long term gain for both the team and us fans. At least that's how I see it 20/20.
  5. I am tired and depressed today. Always been that way. I remember Ferguson limping around and getting nipped by the Chargers and I can feel bad. The tougher the loss the greater the depression. A good night's sleep and tomorrow things will be better. The future is bright for this team. But in everything I do I want to win, and the funny thing is the winning feeling is fleeting. The best thing about winning is avoiding the awful feeling when you lose, and all the "what ifs."
  6. OMG, all these guys practicing and the line drops to 2.5.
  7. Local stations will carry the game. Usually on CBS/Westwood 1. You just need to find the right local sports channel as you lose signal strength when the station fades as you get too far away so you need to pick up a new station.
  8. Yep. Certain people cannot get past the two most terrible words-- "what if?" No way to live
  9. No. There is no dark cloud except in your mind.
  10. You are too young. There used to be toilets you had to put a dime in to get in. Capitalism at its finest.
  11. It's five o' clock somewhere, and it could help!
  12. Nobody takes Mayfield and Darnold over Allen unless there is an ax to grind. No one.
  13. Sorry, it's on the main page.
  14. I am no fan of his constant negative style, but today he writes a positive piece that is spot on about how the balance of power finally is shifting in the AFC East . He is just a little ray of sunshine today compared to some of these gloomy threads. When JS can lift you spirits, we know for sure this is the season of miracles. ? Mod edit. Op, please include for yourself next time. 15. Please stop whining. It is so unbecoming to be overtly feeling so sorry for yourself. It was largely a symbolic game, a win would almost certainly meant nothing. And they were game as hell yesterday in losing. Good stuff. We are on the rise and they are in decline. Let's beat them next year when it means something. On to the playoffs, lots of meaningful stuff still on the horizon!!
  16. I don't think your premise is correct. If we lose to Pittsburgh and beat NE, it is unlikely we could have the 5th seed locked up-- impossible I think. If we lose to Pittsburgh, we would both be 9-5 and Pitt would have the tiebreaker. But your scenario seems right if we beat Pitt.
  17. I think the Bills may have started a book on Jackson. We shall see, as most teams do not have the Bills' defensive talent, but they made Jackson look ordinary. Keep him in the pocket and he is not that good.
  18. Totally agree. Because Jackson is perceived as better than Allen right now, Jackson is lauded as playing great and Allen regressing, but they both looked like second years if you look at it objectively. And that is not factoring in the key drops of several Allen passes. Hopefully this is another growth experience for Allen. He works hard and has shown the ability to learn.
  19. I disagree that the difference between Jackson and Allen "made all the difference in the game." Jackson was as pedestrian as Allen yesterday. Outside of the pass to Hurst, Jackson threw for 84 yards (145 total), Allen for 146 total. Jackson did little with his legs. A great play by the corner on Brown at the end of the game was the difference between a flat out tie, as well as the defensive breakdown on the Hurst play. It was two heavyweights playing yesterday and exchanging punches, and we just came up short. It was not all on Allen, nor did Jackson outplay him overall. It was a team loss against a very good team. Move on and get into the playoffs and who cares. This is not our year to bring home the Lombardi. The window is just opening on that. But I hope we get a rematch in the playoffs this year against the Ravens, that would be fun to watch.
  20. People really need to tap on the brakes here. After Cleveland it was all gloom and doom, and now with a win over Dallas people are getting too high. This team is a work in progress, and people should temper their expectations. The Dallas win was great, but Dallas is not a great team right now. There is a decent chance the Ravens make us look bad, and people should not be going bat-***** crazy when they lose. At this point if they beat just the Jets they should get into the dance, and that would make this an excellent season. Anymore than that is a bonus this year. It's OK to dream about more, but don't get too upset if all these dreams don't come true this year.
  21. That was Emmitt
