  1. He was a special teams coach BEFORE he was a defensive coach. Not the same as April.
  2. I'd rather have the Jets or Dolphins make the playoffs than New England. I hate the Patriots (avatar).
  3. I remember that one he fielded on the goaline. Maybe there was one other this year. You're mad about what... 2 to 3 bad decisions a year? I'm sorry, but I'm not taking a guy that explosive out of the lineup because he messes up every once in a while. Have you watched Devin Hester at all? The guy just takes the ball and runs sideways. How about Barry Sanders? He would be stopped for no gain or lose yardage on a considerable amount of his runs, and then break the big one. The point being, you stick with those guys because those are the chances they need to take in order to make the big play. No one out there can do what Roscoe can do. You really think he's a bad punt returner because he made 2 bad fielding decisions out of 16 games?
  4. I don't understand what makes him qualified for the position. I'm sorry, but special teams is not 1/3rd of the game. Just because he's a great special teams coach, now he's qualified to make personnel decisions on offense and defense and come up with gameplans for attacking the opposing team week to week? Just think of all the things a head coach is responsible for... how is a person that is not specialized in either offense or defense going to run the direction of the team? Listen, I think the key to a great coach is whether or not he has the ability to understand the strengths and weaknesses of his players, whether he can manage the entire squad of coaches and players by balancing the different personalities in order to get the best out of them, and whether he has the respect of everyone in the organization. Those qualities obviously don't relate to how much you know about offense or defense, but if you don't have the basic experience for everything underneath those qualities (knowing everything about the offense and defensive systems) there is no way you can do it. Maybe Bobby has all of those qualities. Only Ralph and the people who coach with him would know. But there is no reason that any of us fans (who don't know the guy's character or personality) can assume that because our special teams are great, that he should be the next head coach. I'm sorry, but just because he can lead a unit where the guys run down the field and tackle the guy with the ball, I'm not going to assume he can handle everything I've talked about above. I'm not saying he can't be, or that he wouldn't be a good head coach. All I'm saying is that we haven't seen and don't know enough about the guy outside of "we have a great special teams unit" to make an informed decision.
  5. More like, "Parrish--no pro bowl cuz no kick returner."
  6. Discussing who the Bills will hire has nothing to do with whether or not Jauron should be fired. If an employee is stealing from your business, would you not fire them because you're not sure who you'd replace them with? Jauron has proven that he isn't the coach for this team, and that he just isn't a good coach, period. Oh, and anyone who suggests Bobby April, is a jackass plain and simple.
  7. Once a new contract is signed, it makes the previous one void. They wouldn't have to pay him anything.
  8. I think he'll go around round 5. He's got a lot of developmental qualities.
  9. But is it more of a need for the 1st round than DE, OLB or TE? IMO, those are greater.
  10. Thread after thread I keep reading about how we have a bad interior line and need to draft a center in round 1. We were horrible with Fowler in there, and when half of them were injured, Preston and the bunch looked even worse. It was clear we needed an upgrade at center. With Butler back and the line fully intact, we look great. Yes, even Preston. We are running the ball pretty much at will now, and I really don't see the need to use our 1st round pick on a center. Preston started off looking bad, but he's really been playing well lately, minus a few mistakes (snapping) which I think are from inexperience more than anything else. He's been getting better and better every week, and spent last Sunday dominating the starting DT for the AFC Pro Bowl team. I would still like to draft a center, just after the 1st round. We really need other positions a lot more, and our o-line has been great since they've been healthy. Am I the only one that thinks Preston is going to be at least adequate? He's got the size we need in the middle and the push in the run game. The simple kinks will work themselves out more and more as he gains more reps. If we go center, it should be after the 1st round. There is a very good crop this year (Unger, Caldwell, Mack and Luigis) and if need be, one of them will be there in the second round or later. IMO, the need to upgrade Preston should come after replacing Kelsay, Ellison and Royal.
  11. I'm so sorry dude. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  12. Free agency is loaded with LB'ers and DE's that can rush the passer, and not so much with tight ends and centers. The best bet is to fill the pass rush need in free agency, because you're going to have to draft your TE if you want one. For that reason, I think grabbing Jermaine Gresham in the 1st round is the best option, assuming we can target a pass rusher in free agency. Center is not a big enough need at this point to waste a 1st round pick on. There are some excellent centers that will be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
  13. Just a question, have you even seen any of the other centers play, or do you just look at their height and weights?
  14. I love how people just look up the top players at the positions we need and say we should draft them.
  15. Did you know that Mack isn't the only center in the draft?
  16. Don't assume he's back. Maybe I'm just in denial, but I don't care what they tell me the contract costs, there is no way Ralph can bring him back next year. Again, maybe I'm just in denial.
  17. Why call a play where our fullback, who's caught a grand total of 1 pass the whole year, and consistently drops pass after pass, is the primary receiver? Why put the ball in the hands of the QB who's not smart and makes bad decisions, instead of in the hands of the RB who's ripped apart the defense the entire game?
  18. Because it was about to be the 2 min warning. The clock would have stopped no matter what the play was. I'm not sure the exact seconds, but its been suggested that if we didn't complete the pass, the clock would have stopped just before the 2 min warning. Don't know the exact time of the game.
  19. When was the last time we swept every team in our division in the same year?
