  1. I frequently can't stand how people on this site always think Bills players are better than other teams'... but I really don't see how NE's receiving corps is better than ours. We both have a very good top two tandem (Moss, Welker and Owens, Evans), theirs is probably better than ours, but our depth is better by a landslide IMO. Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, Steve Johnson, James Hardy I'd take any day over a decrepit Joey Galloway, special teams gunner Greg Lewis, and career long special teamer Sam Aiken. I don't know where you want to rank the Bills' receiving corps, but wherever it is, it should be infront of New England's IMO.
  2. A man came in and asked "how he could get a sub-prime loan.".... Turns out he thought "sub" meant under the prime interest rate, making the rate lower. And they say the banks aren't taking advantage of low income/non-educated people.
  3. Probably because Steely Dan is attracted to women, and not men? Therefore, that = more disgusting than a woman. Not that hard.
  4. So you actually took the time to navigate away from TBD to look up where Drew Willy's home town was, just so you could come back to say that?
  5. Definitely not the topic I first thought when seeing the thread title.
  6. Are you having a conversation with yourself? No one even replied.
  7. I went somewhere other than UB, but had a lot of friends go there after high school. A different friend of mine didn't have the grades to get into UB at the time. He wasn't the student type in high school. He went to ECC for two years (which is MUCH cheaper than UB) and then transferred to UB for his final 2 years. He ended up graduating from the same institution (UB) for the same amount of time put in (4 years) as the other kids who went straight from high school, except he paid almost half the money the kids "smarter" than him paid. Who's the smart one now? I wish I had done that, and would advise kids to think about doing the same.
  8. Firstly, I wrote naval academy, I meant coast guard academy. Sorry for the misinformation, I don't know if that changes your response or if you knew I was just being a douche (easy target there). Anyway, after the rest of his 4 years, who is he get put in charge of?
  9. I'm not sure about the commissioned officer thing, all I know is that he's in a normal college atmosphere where he takes normal college classes such as math and sciences at the naval academy. I know that he gets paid to be in the classroom, but not sure what his regimine outside of the schooling is. During the summer last year they sailed around the US, and this summer he's going to train the newbees on the same thing. He is the type that will stay 20+ years. I believe 24 years is when he hits some sort of retirement/pension thing. As far as his station and family life, from what I understand, they move around quite a bit, are often isolated, and don't typically have the chance to meet or marry outside of the military. I guess I'm just worried that he'll be happy with all the money/friends/experiences now, but as he gets older wish he lived more of a "normal" life outside of the base. I hope that doesnt happen.
  10. I don't understand why no one can just tell me the difference between Stallworth's crime and the average citizen's same crime. The intent for manslaughter such as Stallworth's are usually the same from case to case in an overwhelming fashion. If you think there's a difference, let me know so we can have a decent conversation. Otherwise, pull out your frontal wedgie and I'll tuck you in for bed.
  11. But obviously the majority of drunk manslaughter charges are people who had no intent on running over and killing someone else. If intent is the difference between Vick and Stallworth, then what's the difference between Stallworth and the average citizen? Stallworth gets 24 days, most other people average 5 years.
  12. My girlfriend's younger brother is in the Cost Guard Academy. He's there for... I think 8 years required. He can't go home during the summer, or most times of the year to see family. They tell him when to go home. He does earn a nice salary while sitting in the classroom, but he'll always be bouncing around wherever they station him around the US, which I just view as impossible to find a wife or start a family. They pretty much run his life, but pay him for doing so. I just can't help but think he won't be sharing the same life experiences that the every day civilian shares. I think it's great from the standpoint of money, as they take care of him financially from not only going to school for free, but paying him a salary for going. And I'm sure they pay for things (like the rest of you have all said) to set him up for life, but I just don't know if the expense of your life is worth it. It seems like you all got in, got out, and were compensated. But this kid will probably be involved there for the rest of his life. Anyone have a different perspective? I don't really know what its like, so am I making it out to be worse than it really is?
  13. So then how does the average man get 5 years in prison for the same exact crime, yet Stallworth gets 24 days? Why the discrepancy?
  14. Did anyone feel that their head start in life was stunted by going into the military (or any branch)? i.e.. they were starting their careers a lot older than others, family, money?
  15. So how does Michael Vick get 1 year in prison for killing dogs, and Donte Stallworth gets 1 month in prison for killing a human being?
  16. My team wouldn't be much different: Offense QB Drew Brees; NO RB Adrian Peterson; MIN WR Andre Johnson Hou WR Larry Fitzgerald; ARZ WR Calvin Johnson; DET TE Antonio Gates; SD LT Joe Thomas; CLE LG Brian Waters; KC C Nick Mangold; NYJ RG Davin Joseph; TB RT Jason Peters; PHI Defense LE Osi Umenyiora; NYG NT Albert Haynesworth; WAS DE Julius Peppers; CAR OLB DeMarcus Ware; DAL ILB Jerod Mayo; NE ILB Patrick Willis; SF OLB Joey Porter; MIA CB Nnamdi Asomugha; OAK CB Champ Bailey; DEN FS Ed Reed; BAL SS Troy Palomalu; PIT
  17. In your opinion, not in mine.
  18. I always thought that owning a park or having stock in one was a bad idea. There's only so many times the people of the surrounding area can go there before they've been on everything 20 times and it becomes boring. Only the really, incredibly large parks attract people from out of town, otherwise, its the same damn people all the time. Obviously they're not going to keep coming back as much, and your customers are going to keep declining.
  19. And in those movies, I bet the whole case was solved in an hour and 30 minutes.
  20. Congratulations! You watched a player perform very well in college. Too bad that it obviously doesn't guarantee the player can do the same in the pro's. Nobody is denying what you saw when you watched him in college. It just doesn't work the same way in the NFL.
