  1. I don't even need to read that article. No he's not.
  2. When did I say that? Looks like you're the one missing the point. The original question was basically asking if the players changed or the system changed. I said the system has stayed the same but the players eventually became old or injured, or both.
  3. Both John and the posters harshly criticizing him are wrong. I feel that the posters in this thread are correct, but going about this the wrong way. It is obviously a very delicate situation to John, and arguing and criticizing his parenting skills are only going to rendure him defensless of his acts instead of realizing another way to go about things, even if what you're saying is true. How can one say John is wrong to push his own ideals onto his son in a manner that is pushing your own ideals on John? Kind of counterproductive, don't you think? John, I know it is very, very easy to view everyone here as the opposition to defending the way you brought up your kids, but please try your best not to do that, for yourself and for your son. Step back from the overly ciritical content of their posts and see the real message they are trying to portray, because honestly, it's the truth. If you really think about the entire situation, you can begin to view this as the best thing. A few weeks ago we all agreed that it wasn't likely he was going to play in the NFL, and that football, at this moment in time, was stunting his growth academically and he wasn't keeping up with his grades. We agreed that in order for him to have a successful career, he was going to have to do it with his mind, since becoming successful in football probably wasn't going to happen. The reason I say this knee injury could be the best thing for him is because, why not start turning around the grades and start your future right now? Why even continue to play football if it's not going to get you anywhere but trouble academically? If he was never injured, and went on to a D-1, D-II or D-III school, he'd continue the path of focusing on athletics and not so much his grades. Sure, he could try to juggle both at the same time, but why mess with your education when you're not going to the NFL anyway? Now that he might not have football, it will force him to realize that school is the only way to set up your future. If he played, who's to say that this same thing wouldn't happen in college, and he'd end his college/football career with a good time playing but horrible GPA, and then get sent off into the real world with no skills or experience? Try to look past the criticism and instead embrace it. It is hard, I know. It's easy to look at everything as if you've failed, but you haven't.
  4. I'm a dick when there are dumb questions to answers that are obvious. Ask Marvin Harrison about his age, and Manning, Freeney, Bob Sanders, Harrison and Joseph Addai about their injuries.
  5. So let's add this up... Same system, young and healthy Colts = Super Bowl Same system, old and injured Colts = No Super Bowl Yup, clearly the system.
  6. What do you honestly expect? You're going to get the same response from him no matter what Owens' real feelings are towards Buffalo. He's certainly not going to come out and say how much he doesn't like it here or the small town atmosphere.
  7. Thanks for your in-depth analysis off only one post, Dr. Phil.
  8. You don't know they're psycho until later. They purposely surpress it so you think they're normal and date them. Then it becomes unleashed when the relationship starts to sour and you want to get away.
  9. So if T.O. has a great year, the Bills make the playoffs, and the fans still love T.O., then there is a slim possibility he could come back? Wow, great piece. That guy's insight is one of a kind.
  10. Yeah, I saw you lurking in the bushes during recess with your sunglasses and bottle of lotion on my way home.
  11. No, this was after we broke up. Guess she didn't take it very well.
  12. I think the majority of our offense will be Shotgun, with short passes. That will make any LT look good.
  13. Yeah, I had one that actually hired a private investigator so she'd know where I went, who I was talking to, if I was dating anyone new... it was ridiculous. She shelled out so much cash just to prove she was a loser. There was also the one that reeled me in by pretending she had cancer, acting sick all the time, knowing I'd come over to take care of her any time she said she needed help. Or the one that would literally carry a mirror around everywhere to stick under doors to see if I was in there (this was college). I could go on forever, women are messed up in the head.
  14. The way he fields questions about defenses he faces, blitz packages, and running an NFL offense are just a few of the ways you can tell he's learning each and every time he's on the field. If there's anything we've learned here in Buffalo, and all over the NFL in recent years, it's that QB's need to be cerebral, and can't be successful with just talent alone. You've got to know what you're doing out there, and Trent is obviously getting it and learning each time he sees something different and adjusting. It's not that difficult to tell that he's a smart guy, and that he's learning the game more and more.
  15. I think the chances of us drafting a QB high next year are hinged upon the development of Trent Edwards this season. IMO, if he doesn't perform well with two top receivers and all the talent on offense, then he's never going to perform well. It is a make it or break it year for Trent, sort of a 50-50 chance he'll perform well or he won't. But, I think the odds are slightly in Trent's favor that he's more likely to perform well than not. We know how intelligent he is, and we know he gets better game after game. Add to that one of the top receivers in NFL history and what seems to be a more air focused attack on offense, and I think the odds are greater than 50% he performs well and proves he can be a capable starter in this league. So, given that the percentage Trent performs well is greater than 50%-50%, it is safe to say the likelyhood we'll need to draft a QB high in next years draft would be on the downward end, whether you believe it's 60-40, 70-30 and so on. I think there are teams with a far greater percentage of likelyhood that will need a QB. There's no way we are in the top 3 teams to need a QB when there are compelling odds that we won't.
  16. Yeah, and if I were a Cowboys fan I could say the same about Romo. What's your point?
  17. Delhomme certainly had a bounceback year last year, to which I attribute to teams trying everything they could to load the box and try and stop that insane rushing attack. It was the only chance you had at stopping the Panthers. When Chicago's defense was good, Orton was the beneficiary. He barely played in 07' when the defense dropped off, and last year was carried by Matt Forte. I think Orton is just an average QB with not much upside, if any. I see your point about Schaub. I think I see him equal to Edwards, with not one being definitively better than the other, and I'll move him into my "not sure" category.
  18. Montgomery County? Do they even know what guns are over there? Weird.
