Correct, our team did well with a rookie safety tandem this year. Howver, at the start of last year it was known that it was a rebuilding year, and a shot at the playoffs was a longshot. Coming off the year we had I think that a lot of people only expect us to be better, and with a few offseason moves can push for a playoff spot next season. It wouldnt make sense to come back with another inexperienced crew on defense while the rest of our team is experienced and pushing for a playoff spot.

I agree. I dont have faith in the Bills running game to be able to consistantly convert a 3rd and 4 by running the ball, and neither does the Bills coaching staff. As much as we want to be able to run on 3rd and 3, I just dont think we will convert as many as we think. I do agree that if we are going to pass, the play calling could be better. While JP rolling out gets him away from the rush and gives him the option of running or throwing, it also limits his field vision and receivers to throw to. Its a catch 22, however it wouldnt hurt to try it every once in a while!

If Clements leaves, a lot of people see Ashton Youboty as his predecessor. That would leave basically a rookie corner at the position. Your way suggests basically another rookie corner (Whitner as he hasnt played the position for a while and certainly not at the NFL level) and a newcomer at the SS position. That's 2 people out of place from 1 person leaving, and also a waste of a 3rd round pick in Youboty sitting on the bench. I'd rather keep the very promising Whitner at his normal position of SS and either try Youboty at corner or bring in a veteran.

Excellent post. Everyone usually looks towards FA signings as always becoming future starts. Howver, that is not the case. We need depth at LB and Harris wpuld certainly be an upgrade over our pizza guy.

I would definitely love to have a LB of his calibur to develop behind our current starters. Whether Posluszny is the choice is irrelevant. The point being, we need some depth and future starters at the position.

That is definitely the one for me as well, and I think most people would agree. Not only did it spark the winning streak and second half run, but it also defined JP to the organization and the fans as our starting QB.

What kind of games do they have for that? is it basically anything?

I know Rocky is a feel good movie for everyone, but I can honestly say I thought it was terrible. The ending of the movie was great, and the fight was great, but it was incredibly slow leading up to that point. I thought the majority of the movie would be about Rocky making his comeback, training and maybe some practice fights, but they spent about 3 minutes on his training and that was it. The movie really had no purpose leading up to the final fight scene. Maybe I was expecting a whole lot, or a great movie, but it just wasnt it for me. Flame away.

I felt the same way when playing football in high school like you describe. However, that was high school, we had lives, grades, girls, and things that were just more important. This is their professional careers, this is what they do in life. Its like your career, you dont want to stay at an entry level position the rest of your life because you can skip out early when other people are working. You want to become the best at what you do, whether that be manager, CEO, whatever. I think that's how it is for the players.

Nothing we can do about it now. We are obviously a young team and that is just a part of learning how to win and not losing games. That was the start of our progression by learning from those games. I think those examples were necessary for the Bills to be where they are now. We are not a playoff team, that's just the honest truth; we are getting there though.
