  1. Well you're the one who took a defensive end with your first pick when you already have Trent Cole, Darren Howard, Jaqua Thomas (Parker), signed Chris Clemons, and drafted Victor Abiamiri with your second pick last year, when you have a ton of other needs. Now Buffalo is screeeewwed.
  2. Instead, he's a black guy with no moves. This guy is a big, run stopping DE who isn't a sack man. We have enough of those already. Pass.
  3. As the GM of the Saints, the only reason I started trading down was because I thought LB Rivers would be gone by my pick. Damn.
  4. How does someone accept a trade with a 5th round pick in it when we only do 3 rounds?
  5. Could it be that the thread title is called "Taking WRs too early is a gamble" or "I love this excerpt from Gil Brandt in the article. “It has the biggest mortality rate of any position percentage-wise,” or even “It’s a very hard position to learn. Second-hardest other than being a quarterback. So buyer beware.” ? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't call 37 career receptions for 600yds and 5 TDs exactly panning out. I'd like someone who can actually produce as our #2 WR. So you're not looking for the best WR available because we're "only looking for a #2?" That is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Yeah, we only need a number 2 receiver, so lets try to NOT find the best receiver out there. Good one.
  6. I agree with you about Thomas, DRC, and Mayo. Devin Thomas is a joke. I don't agree with you on Rivers. I don't think we'll take him or need to, but I do think he is a great player. Unlike the rest of the players you mentioned, there is nothing in Rivers' history that would lead us to believe he wouldn't be successful. He played at a great program, on a great defense, put up great numbers, and great combine numbers. I don't see where a team could go wrong with him. In the pros, I think he'll be more of a Lance Briggs style of player; makes a lot of tackles, not super physical, but always around the ball. Good post, and welcome to the board. You don't seem like the typical teenage retard we've been getting lately.
  7. Your solution is Ruvell Martin? Are you kidding me? Yeah, he'd be good to add... as a 4th or 5th receiver who has some size. But not taking one of these top WR's over Ruvell Martin? You say buyer beware with WRs, and are scared if we select one they wont pan out. So your solution is to trade for a WR that we KNOW already hasn't panned out? Why wouldn't you take a chance that one of these receivers do, instead of trading for a WR you know hasn't. Oh.... and Ruvell Martin? WTF?
  8. If the Bills wanted a CB, and that's what they want to select at #11, I'd have to think we'd take Cromartie over McKelvin. The whole point in adding another corner is to add some size at the position, I feel it would be pointless to add another corner who was 5-9 like McKelvin.
  9. And just stick to the 3rd strings and the midgets we're used to? No thanks. We need to add one of those top 5 receivers, IMO.
  10. Wow, that's alarming. I didn't realize what little experience he's had. I don't think a team can count on him to come in and be a force his first year. Robert Meachem?
  11. T.O. is one of the fastest WRs in the NFL, period. Just because he is big doesn't mean he's not fast.
  12. Its a good trade for us both. You guys don't need Shockey, and you moved up in the 1st round for it (btw, from #31 to #19 isn't 17 spots lol). I think it benefits both teams.
  13. Yeah, so far I've gotten Lito Sheppard and Jeremy Shockey and havent even given up a pick! lol
  14. Lets all note that the Saints, (me), came into the day with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick. So far I've acquired CB Lito Sheppard and TE Jeremy Shockey, and still have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick!
  15. The Saints strike again. Saints trade with the Giants this time, for Jeremey Shockey, each team switches 1st round picks. Giants now draft at #19 Saints now draft at #31 and get Jeremy Shockey.
  16. And to think I got jumped on here for saying the Eagles might look at WR in the first round.
  17. And Gerbe scores again... Damn, that kid is explosive. 3-0 BC Wait... I guess now they are saying it might go to Gibbons? Well, excellent job by Gerbe, even if its not his goal.
  18. Watching the BC ND game on ESPN right now. Both Sabres prospects Gerbe and close friend of mine Andy Orpik have the only two goals of the game so far. Lets go BC!
  19. For whatever its worth, on an interview on ESPN, they asked John what teams are most interested in him. John said he's had contact with 19 teams, so he can't really narrow things down as to where he'll end up. But he said he's had personal meetings with only 2 teams. Buffalo and Atlanta. Whatever its worth.
  20. Wow, nice! Maybe now he has the strength to throw the deepball with confidence lol kidding... I always thought he had the arm strength, so I am actually kidding with my comment.
  21. I think its a stretch for almost all of those players to be there when we pick. If Kelly is really what you say, I'm sure he wouldn't fall all the way to us. I don't think Carlson would be there for us in the 3rd, and I don't think either Justice or Zuttah would be there in the 4th either.
  22. Her loss. Too bad. The guy isn't at fault, and shouldn't share any money, IMO.
  23. A trade between the Saints and Eagles has been reached. The Eagles will sent CB Lito Sheppard and their 1st round pick (19 overall) to the Saints, in exchange for their 1st round pick (10 overall). Eagles are now drafting at #10 Saints are now drafting at #19
  24. Edwards has a better team around him than JaMarcus has with the situation in Oakland. I think with the difference in franchises, Trent gets my vote here.
