Woah woah woah. Didn't he shut down Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and Kellen Winslow last year? He was almost one on one with them the entire game.
-
I think they'll be very good too, just saying they aren't there yet in the 2nd preseason game of the 1st season running with the new D.
-
... So wait, you are saying it is likely the Bills starting offense, which hasn't scored a touchdown at all this preseason, is LIKELY to come out against the PITTSBURGH STEELERS and score immediately? What makes that likely? Can they? Sure. But I'd like to know how it is so "likely" they'll score "a touchdown or two" against a super bowl defense when they haven't against mediocre ones. And why would I say that if they scored, we'd be all set to go?
-
Yes. Against the Cleveland Browns, with no offensive weapons on it, and a 30-something year old running back.
-
You're right. I'm sure that's the reason we constantly got blown up in the run game and Marshawn had something like 6 yards on 6 carries. Must have been those pro bowl corners.

I think it is co-incidence. If you line up without a gameplan, and run certain plays, aren't the weakest people on the defense going to be exposed? I mean, they are weak players because they suck, so sucking on more than one play is typical. If you're running a passing play, while not purposely attacking a weak area of the defense, won't that area be exposed anyway? For instance, if Rogers drops back to pass, and the TE who is being covered by Ellison (who played well last night btw) is 2 steps ahead of his man, Rogers is going to throw it to him. And if they run another basic passing play, the same thing is likely going to happen again. Just because our weak players and weak areas of the defense were being picked on, it doesn't necessarily mean they were purposely being targeted. They could have just been running any basic play. The problem I've seen on this board is the misconception that the Packers defense is good, and so we shouldn't feel so bad. The fact is they aren't good. This is a defense that has sucked perennially for about the last 5 years. Now all those sucky players are out of position, as they re-vamped their entire defense from a 4-3 to a 3-4, and this is only their 2nd time using it in a game. This is a starting defense that rolled out players like Brandon Chillar, Brady Poppinga, Johnny Jolly (who hasn't even played in training camp due to injury) and still managed to dominate us. They are inexperienced and out of position.

Um, how about starting Fitzpatrick?

Timelines of the stupid fan behavior on here need to be posted more often. Great job, Dean. -
I would like to see Bryan with the starters on Defense

You have. He has the last 2 years and he's been getting consistent pressure every time he's in. Go back and read my posts, I've been saying it over the last two seasons while getting hammered every time for it. I have constantly said he was our best pass rusher last season. Nothing has changed. -
A lot of the sacks came because Trent sat back there all day and decided not to get rid of the football. Not because of the line.

The sad part is how little production we'd probably lose with Byrd, Bryan, Maybin, Bell and Johnson. -

Teddy B could be on way out in NE

The guy was a team leader and hard worker, but let's be honest here, he was far from a GREAT PLAYER. He had really good years in '03 and '04, but only having 5 seasons of 100+ tackles out of a 13 year career is not the mark of dominance. He averages 81 tackles a year and 2 sacks. I guess it depends on your definition of great. If you use production, he's not great IMO. If you want to include leadership, longevity and throwing in the stroke, then I'd probably say he's pretty close. But, with the ridiculous media attention and him being on the most hated team among Bills fans, there's no reason why any of us have to respect or like him. -
Programming note: Hunter's Hope Radiothon on WGR

They did a great job. Both the morning and afternoon guys. I was particularly impressed with Howard. Mike can always find the right words to say for any situation, but Howard took his radio game to another level yesterday morning. Great show guys, keep it up. -

Yeah, that was pretty good -
There's only one problem... he's not any good! He's been in the league for how long now, and people are still talking the same crap about him as when he was a rookie (he's versatle, hungry, energetic, on the cusp, ready to step up) and he hasn't done it. He's always going to be the 3rd or 4th guy in on the tackle. He's always going to be that backup that is average.

Which places are the safest and best?

Actually, that's in Amherst/Getzville area.

Actually, I go there for wings consistently. I think they are the best in Buffalo. I'd take them over Duffs or Anchorbar any day. Great wings.

I think with Edwards' inability to stay healthy for a whole season, you've got to keep 3 QB's on the roster. If Edwards goes down in a game, you've only got Fitzpatrick? Bad idea. Not to mention if you cut Hamdan, and another team picks him up (which I think is very likely), and Trent goes down, you've got no one to sign that knows the offense, and they've got to back up Fitzpatrick immediately. You're going to sign someone off the street for that week that has to be able to run the no huddle in a week? Bad idea. If you're the Colts, you can get away with keeping 2 QB's and stashing away a 3rd QB that knows the offense on your practice squad. We don't have that luxury, unless you want Baker on the PS as your third string, and I don't think anyone wants that guy seeing action.
-
I'm particularly interested to see what happens at DE, Safety, TE and RB. DE: Schobel, Kelsay, Denney, Maybin, Ellis, Bryan (we're probably cutting 2 of these. I've been a huge supporter of Bryan for the last 2 years, I'd hate to see him go). S: Whitner, Scott, Wilson, Byrd, Simpson, Wendling (we're probably cutting 2 again). RB: Lynch, Jackson, Rhodes, Omon, McIntyre (I wonder what they're going to do. Has Rhodes shown ANYTHING? Omon for first few weeks, or make it over Rhodes? Do they like McIntyre's ability to be effective at RB, FB and special teams enough to keep him on the roster?) TE: Schouman, Fine, Nelson, Stupar (do they keep all 4 or cut one? If they cut one, which one is it?)

Holy schit, did you see his kickoff? It was deeper than Lindell's! Wow, this guy is talented.
