  1. I was wondering if Verizon had an app that would let you stream. Apparently not but there is a way around it. See the link. If you ever try this, let us know if it works. https://www.apprupt.com/fios-tv-on-roku/
  2. I agree with what you said. So much depends on how many cables someone has running around their house and the line to the house. Having a meter that reads signal strength makes this a simple task. Maybe you can get a hold of meter or if not a booster/splitter. Before streaming, I had 4 tv's in the house all connected to cable. Two of them had intermittent results, so I put in a booster and things were fine. After a few years, I started having issues. Spectrum came in and measured the signal strength. The tech said the signal coming to the house was a little weak. He went out to the connection on the pole and ended up replacing the cable to the house. He said he found the squirrels had chewed the cable insulation and water had accumulated in the cable. The pole at the street where the cable is intermingled with a couple of pine trees. I still have 4 tv's but only two cable connections. Spectrum has an app that works with Roku's that allow you to stream their programs if you are a Spectrum subscriber. I don't know if any other provider has an app for this. Streaming has certainly reduced the cabling in the house.
  3. That explains the cameo by Stephen. This was worth the time. I would like to see a third season.
  4. Recalling some of your old posts, I hate to inform you but sump water is not fresh.
  5. It is really being marked down for Black Friday. My original intent for posting was to offer who ever replied here the $30 coupon when I signed up. As it turns out earlier this week I found out my son-in-law's nephew had one. I never met him but two years ago he barely survived a DUI hit and run. When I found out he had one, I offered it to him.
  6. Thanks for your response. I don't really play computer games but wanted it for the same things you are using it for. On the Facebook requirement, I refuse to open an account, so I will use my wife's account. Supposedly they are going to eliminate that requirement, supposedly.
  7. I have been thinking about getting a VR headset for a while. Since I was not sure if I would like them, I have delayed until now. There are Black Friday deals on the Quest 2 and I find them real tempting. Anyone here have any experience with these that they would like to share? I also wonder how much of an affect VR headsets have on making someone nauseous? I cannot read in a moving car for more than a few minutes.
  8. I have to really thank you for recommending this. I did not expect it to be a foreign diner but that made it that much better. After about the third episode, I had to watch one after another. Took me a week to do through them all. I will miss it.
  9. When I looked at the option of drawing SS at 66 or going to 70, it worked out that the breakeven year on total payouts was when I would be 76. If I died before 76, taking it at 66 was the better option, if I lived past 76 the better option was waiting to 70. That analysis did not include making any money on the money I took earlier. I took the 66 option in part because I am daring fate to screw me money-wise by allowing me to live longer. If you are close to retirement I would recommend a program by Larry Kotlikoff. If you have a lot of options, that program will really help. The program was called something like "Max my social security." I liked it so much I purchased my sister a copy of it just before she retired. I believe in Gold/Silver long term. I have some bullion but I also have a position is PSLV. In 2020 I had a position in SLV which is a silver ETF, but having read many times, if you don't have possession of it, you don't own it, I started switching from SLV to PSLV. SLV is an ETF which is highly leveraged. PSLV is by Sprott and the prospectus says they have bullion on hand for all they sell. At minimum, if retirement is off a few years, you should have some for diversification. On the comment about Gold/Silver underperforming compared to the stock market, keep in mind what every advisory says, "Past performance is not a guarantee of future performance." This bull market is on an unprecedented 11 year run. It will end someday.
  10. Thanks for the link. I really like to see that Ontario/St Lawrence traffic.
  11. My son was big on Korean movies and gave me a list to watch. The Chaser Memories of Murder The Chase The Admiral: Roaring Currents -- Based on a battle in Korean history He also gave me an odd Japanese movie - Departures. It is about how the Japanese handle funerals, I found the cultural take on this very interesting. The tough thing about these is finding them.
  12. Sorry to hear that Wacka. Your words above were quite lifting, considering the situation.
  13. Why is Fox doing the broadcast? I always thought they used the AFC/NFC to determine which network did it. I noticed that last year also.
  14. I have the same score but with Miami winning.
  15. It seems that where ever she is, it's cold.🤓
  16. We have been having problems with our fridge. The food section was just not cold enough. I thought for sure the thermostat was going. It cycled on for 6-7 minutes and then shut off for about 10. Turning the thermostat up had little affect. I looked up the availability of the thermostat figuring I could jumper the contacts that turn the fridge on to see it that worked. In watching the replacement video, I could see that while you adjust the thermostat in the front of the fridge, the sensor for temperature is actually in the center but in the back close to the back wall. When I reached back I could feel cold air blowing on two or three cans of beer which were within two inches of the air outlet/ temp sensing housing. The cans were very cold. I moved the cans away from the air blowing on them and voila, I do not have a fridge problem. It seems you cannot place an object anywhere close to this area for good temperature distribution. I have yet to determine how close. This does remove a fair amount of space on the top shelf. I know there are some here that would place the blame solely on me for placing beer in such a hard to get to area, but in my defense, I would argue it could just have well have happened with pickle jars or ketchup. So anyway, check out your fridge food distribution. It may be causing issues you are unaware of.
  17. So today I learned that Samsung has a disable TV feature. https://www.techzim.co.zw/2021/08/bad-news-for-south-african-looters-as-samsung-moves-to-block-their-stolen-tvs/ In searching for this thread, I also learned we don't learn as much these days. One month with no additional posts!!
  18. I couldn't understand the Bill Gray's mention until your post. It suddenly occurred to me they were talking about the place across from the windmills. I never knew there was more than one and they even had them in Buffalo. Today I learned. Edit. Looks like today I also learned both locations in Buffalo are closed permanently according to internet info.
  19. Where do posters that do that here rank?
  20. I have seen the supposed story of this posted at TBD more than once. In my opinion it just doesn't ring true. It fits the Ralph is cheap narrative, although I am not sure how much Ralph was involved in it, but I just don't think it happened that way. Oddly enough, long term, think of what that really meant to the Bills.
  21. You'll poke your eye out kid!
  22. I find something very appealing about these two pictures but I just can't put my finger on it.😳
  23. TIL, Farmers use donkeys to protect their herds.
  24. How offensive do you find finger gestures? 🙄
