"Burns and Allen" should at least get mention here. Individually, Groucho Marx was as quick as they come. Almost all of the acts mentioned above, had great runs and were staples of comedy. Hard to pick just one.

Here is a song about Lenny by the Baseball Project. There is a bit of baseball humor in all of there songs and I find the music catchy.

Water Levels in Great Lakes Keep Rising
Greybeard replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Here is a link to math solutions which happen to include some on what it takes to create energy. Not for everyone but I found it interesting. https://dothemath.ucsd.edu/2011/11/pump-up-the-storage/ I was looking for the capacity of the reservoir at the power plant, which I found at the link below. What I never realized is that they pump water up to the reservoir at night to store energy. I had always thought it was just to store water at the level of the upper Niagara River. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Moses_Niagara_Power_Plant And thanks for the book idea. -

This does not make sense to me. If the water from the Upper river flows over the falls or around the falls through the power intakes, it still raises the level of Lake Ontario, which in the end determines the level of water in the lower river. -
The sensational story of Mike Bloomfield: from prodigy to tragedy
Greybeard replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In 69? this was one of my nightly go to albums along with "A Long Time Coming" and BST's "A Child is the Father to the Man." Throw in a little Blues Project "Projections" once in a while and I could call it a night. Threads like these are good at refreshing one's memory. It has been a while since I listened to "Projections." I'll have to dig it out. -
The sensational story of Mike Bloomfield: from prodigy to tragedy

Thanks for the post. I have always loved his sound. More guitar, less fuzz. He seemed to stay "under appreciated" during is living years. Here are two of my favorites. The second one is very short but has a great sound to it. -

That is debatable but none of them were as dishonest as she is. -
They should do a story on the store where the tickets were purchased. Did they go into the store and say "Give me 100,000 quick pics?" I also wonder how long it would take for a store to do that?

Notable Nexflix / Amazon / Premium Channel Series & Movies
Greybeard replied to Heitz's topic in Off the Wall
I watched all three last week. They were disappointing. I think it is difficult to come up with new material. Also, the expectations are high, and that in itself is difficult to overcome. If you watch the old Twilight Zones, there are a lot of them that aren't so great. -
If I watch this video, it looks like the entire play exists because the batter failed to hustle to first. I can see he had a bad start but it didn't look like he ran very hard after that. Also, I am trying to see why McCutchen tore his ACL. I can't make out exactly when it happened. https://www.mlb.com/news/andrew-mccutchen-out-for-season

They went to Walmart first, and she knew she was over-dressed for that. -
Make sure you get up and walk around every couple of hours on that flight. And if your on the right hand side of the plane and by a window with a clear day, you should get a great view of the northwest passage.

Question regarding maximum heart rate for fitness fans and Doctors
Greybeard replied to Pete's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It appears all the posters in this thread know their heart rate so what do you all use to measure it? I used a Fitbit for the last couple of years but when I do a stationary bike in the winter, wrist heart rate monitors don't seem to work. I believe it has something to do with holding the grip. So this Feb, I purchased a Polar H10 that has a strap that goes around your chest. It is more accurate. Typically when I would cut the lawn, the Fitbit said somewhere between 110 and 120. At the same time, the Polar has hit between 130 and 143. Along with the Polar, I use an app for the android called MyWorkouts. Bluetooth interface and trends your heart rate in real time. Nice on the stationary bike. I highly recommend that app although they do not have an Iphone version. Their homepage gives you an idea of the trends. https://www.myworkouts.org/index.en.html -
One of the Greatest rock songs ever
Greybeard replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am not sure why you posted this. Sarcasm? When this song was originally out I absolutely hated it. However, I have come to recognize that Judith Durham has one of the finest voices ever, so when I hear the song now, I concentrate on just her voice. Many times I have gone to Utube to listen to the Seekers and end up listening to several of their songs multiple times. This in part raises a Utube practice which is both good and bad. There is a Utube poster that takes Seeker videos and replaces the live performance audio with the original record. The sometimes bad part of this is I really enjoy her live performances. She has perfect pitch and it was already extremely hard to tell if it was live or not. You had to listen to other things in the recording to figure it out. There are a lot of groups where I am sure the fans of that group like to hear the differences between live and recorded. -

A truer statement has never been made here. -
Here is a link to an article which compares the statistical advantage of hitting at Coors Field. It is full of numbers but I think it is worth the effort. Note he does some other comparisons, some which might be of interest to Met's fans. One thing he points out is hitting at Coors makes it more difficult to hit when not at Coors. https://tht.fangraphs.com/the-other-coors-effect/

I never get to NYC or Long Island but if I do I will keep this in mind. What is Granny style pizza?
-
I love Sicilian pizza, but it is very hard to find. I don't think any of the chains make it and probably not 1 in 10 local places do. On the other hand, I don't consider Chicago style pizza, pizza.

Here is a story from the other side. I was subbing for a 9th grade math class and the assignment for the day was to administer a test. I was walking around the class for a bit when I thought something was going on in one of the two first seats of a row. I wasn't sure what but I thought I would stand in front of that row for the rest of the test. The guy in the second seat sure looked nervous when I did this, so I stayed there for the last half the test. I collected the tests and that was it. The next day I was subbing again in the same class. I looked to see what the names of the two kids in the front row were. It seems somewhere during the first half of the test, the two had switched papers. The guy in the second seat was the guy who knew the material but unfortunately for him, the guy in the front seat who now had his test, did not. I always wondered what their grades were like for that test.
