Yeah, this year is a classic example of the "MVP philosophy" question -- most important to his team's success, or most productive player overall? If it's the former, I think it's Lamar. And I hate to say that because I think he's not even close by the second metric, which would have to be 1) CMC, 2) Josh, and 3) Tyreek. Either way, the final two weeks will be hugely impactful to the outcome.

There have been several points in the schedule this year when a bye would have been beneficial, but I'm counting blessings that it's this week. Yes, for the fans and this board in particular, it probably means dwelling on the negatives while panicking over a lost week to fight for playoff position. But for the players and the team as a whole, I think there's so much upside. Take a breath, hit reset and onward to KC. Heck, maybe Von won't even suck as much in a couple weeks. 🤷♂️ Oops, there's that negativity I was talking about.

Week 12: Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia Eagles
UB2SF replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Friggin' Tony Romo again. My mute button is gonna get a workout. -
Sounds like that was the case if he walked out of the hospital today with nothing more than an achy neck. It really freaked me out when he suddenly went limp on the field.

Wow, I love this addition. I'm a west-coaster and watch a lot of Pac-12. He was a force to be reckoned with in college. Pac-12 defensive freshman of the year and then two-time first-team all Pac-12. Swiss Army Knife DB who tackles like an LB.

The Bay Area giving some love to Josh and the Firebaugh community. A good read. BTW, I drive past Firebaugh regularly when traveling between SF and LA, and there are Bills stickers on just about every car! ‘Not a quarterback incubator’: Josh Allen’s rise from a small Calif. town

This actually doesn't bother me too much. Josh had way too many interceptions, especially in the red zone.

Honestly just geeking out on the iso shots of him running inside. Fast feet, low center of gravity, quick-twitch jukes and spins, initiating contact when necessary. No hate for Motor in my heart.

Lost my brother 15 years ago and I still haven't really gotten over it. Gotten through, not gotten over. My heart aches with empathy for the Knox family.

As a Buffalo fan, some people have been waiting their whole lives for that. Even just one chance to piece together memories of an amazing win from online clips and my friend’s description of the game would be enough for me.” At press time, Padula stated that his sadness over never having a celebratory drink in honor of a Bills Super Bowl win meant he needed a drink.

MYTH Busted: "The Defense couldn't stop the Run"
UB2SF replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
That play was a total defensive breakdown with multiple guys out of position at once. BUT, it was within the first 10 plays on offense for the Patriots, and they had already passed once, so I don't think anyone honestly "knew" they were rushing on that play. Without one awful defensive breakdown the Patriots probably don't score a TD and the whole dynamic of the game changes. -
MYTH Busted: "The Defense couldn't stop the Run"
UB2SF replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Had the same thought, Doc -- they couldn't stop "a" run (the 64 yard TD), not "the" run (the rushing attack). I woke up today feeling mad about missed opportunities on offense more than defense. -
A Few Thoughts about the Colts game, in no particular order
UB2SF replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Appreciate the write-up, Virgil. Understandable that it took a couple days to process it! The one other thing that really stood out to me was the poor tackling. Yeah, I know Taylor is strong and powerful, but it was shocking to see so many people bounce off him, or worse still, just swipe at his legs. Especially disappointing to see our DBs -- who IMHO are among the best-tacking secondaries in the league -- flailing and failing. I haven't seen the stats on missed tackles or Taylor's yards after contact, but I bet they are 🤮. A stunning indictment of the mental and physical toughness of the team.
